I utilized the nail salon because of a Groupon. Well I called ahead cuz I was running behind schedule from another appt. So I missed my schedule time. Well there was only one young lady handling all the clients when I arrived so my wait time for a mani/pedi was over an hour. It appeared she was the owner of that part of the salon. As a result, I spent 4-1/2 hours. I had other appts had to cancel and extend the other. Well I thought she did an ok job considering the circumstances, only to experience a chipped/uneven nails 2 days later. I called for an appt to fix it. But due to my experience, I didnt return. I accepted my losses. Also noticed she used dull scissors n pieces of rolled up silk wrap, which I thought was quite strange. At the same time, others were waiting and walked out cuz of the long wait.

I recently walked in this salon due to a hair emergency that I had. I had did some bad damages to my hair and from the first time I met Jen she has been nothing but nice, caring and understanding to my hair needs. I was really impress with her overall knowledge of hair care. Trust me this was exactly what I needed. The overall atmosphere of this place is amazing, its very relaxing and clean I would describe the whole place as a professional atmosphere expecially for where in Mount Vernon its located. Even the nail tech Shen, who in my opinion is very talented and very friendly. I am never disopointed walking out of Starlight Beauty Salon. I truly give this place 5 stars. If you are looking for a knowledgeable hair stylist and Nail Tech you will not be disappointed.

This hair salon is very very pricey. All i got was a simple hair cut (no perm no color or nothing) just wash and cut and it was so freaking expensive i was shock $75...i dont live in Beverly hills...also she didnt even cut my hair the way i wanted it she basically did what she (jen) wanted to do...i showed her a picture of the simple cut and everything, she scissor happy and cut my hair off. Im so disappointed. But i went there cause it do look clean truthfully but never again. Im so disappointed that i had to take time to write a review..

This salon is amazing, they offer friendly professional and excellent service. Definitely worth the trip, wish there was a location in long Island.
