first off, I was with NYSC up until last sept 2016. I had been away for work in the summer to return to my regular work out in September. Everything seem ok , had been going about 3-4 days a week since sept. Then towards the end of sept/oct. I was inform as I was checking in one day that I did not have an account no more. So I questioned it and was told that My card had been declined since that July of that current year. My card had expired was all, So I offered to just provide my updated new card. However they said I had to pay the past due, the new rates and the start fees all over again. I ask why then if it was canceled why not a phone call or follow up through email. They said and this is one one the managers that told me that they do and if I have a problem to talk to corporate. kinda rude about it, Then I spoke to a GM there and before anything went further he said that he is not allowing me in "HIS" gym. A bit attitude as well. He advised me that they do call and do email customers on miss payments. So I challenge him to show me and advised the dates to me so I can cross reference to my email and phone log. He decided he he did not have to. So I left went home paid the past due dates on the account and called them back just to make sure it went through. A lady pick up and said it was process, we hung up and I come to get an alert from my bank of a charge from NYSC white plains. It was a double charge on what I had already online. So that made it worse there, contacted the bank and they took care of it there. About a couple of hours later, the GM calls and said he wants to try to help and said he would call me within the new couple of days. I said ok , I also told him that I had contacted my phone carrier and they have provided me my incoming phone log and no calls came from NYSC. No words from him then. I also advised him that no incoming emails was sent from NYSC about miss payment. I also ask him if my account was canceled in september then why was I still permitted to still go to the gym for most of September and why didnt someone in the front desk say anything about my account from the first time I went back to the gym after that summer. Again no answer!! So I waited a few days and a week goes by , I decided to call NYSC corporate and told them the story, The lady actually gave me the GM email address and that she will put notes in the file, that I would have to ask the GM to ask the DM about giving me back the rate I had when I was at NYSC. So I emailed the GM, no answer from him. All of this from a expired card, not a declined card. So this is where I am as far as how that could have been settle differently. I have proof of no emails and no phone calls from them up until the GM called that day when I was told about the issues and never heard from him again, This left a very bad taste and I will not forget about this. I will continue to share my story until this get resolved. #BBB

On Monday June 23rd at around 5:30pm I came into the White Plains NYSC with my 11 year old nephew. I was coming in to inquire about the prices for Birthday party packages. As we approached the main desk to be scanned in, there were two workers talking with their backs to us. They stood this way for a good 30 seconds before they decided to turn around and see the customers waiting. Myself as well as my nephew and two other women were waiting to be scanned in. In that time waiting for them to turn around, all four us were privy to an inappropriate conversation. The one staff member whom I did not see his name tag at first was a Caucasian male with a light beard and goatee who had said the most inappropriate things. In short me, my 11 year old nephew and two other female patrons over heard this man stating to his coworker at the front desk "You know I like my men in all colors and sizes" the 2nd male coworker who was an African American stated "look at this its just how you like them" they began to laugh and then the Caucasian worker stated "Do you know what I would do to his body if he came" At that point I said "excuse me" both workers turned around still laughing and realized they had a line of customers. I immediately glanced at both their name tags because I was disgusted at the conversation going on at a main desk of a major business and so was the other patrons based on their reactions. And all of these comments are being said loudly while their backs were turned toward incoming patrons! The Caucasian mans name tag said "Jason" and ironically the African Americans name tag said "Jason" as well. They were both Jasons and they worked the front desk on June 23rd at around 5:30pm. I think its ridiculous that employees are allowed to stand with their backs to patrons and worst, have conversations of a sexual nature when you have people of all ages coming into this location and being greeted immediately in such a way. I do not know how much of this conversation my nephew understood but I have never brought it up, and nor will I ever trust coming here to book his birthday party in August knowing that employees could be speaking like this on the main floor of the gym near customers!

Rude, Dirty and Crowded. The White Plains NYSC is OK for the price because its big and has two floors filled filled with equipment. Unfortunately, that is the best I can say about the place. The managers leave much to be desired. They actually yelled at me, the customer, for bringing a bicycle to the gym. Go figure, a gym full of bikes does not want its customers bringing a bicycle inside. I could understand if it was parked it in the middle of the floor but my bike folds up to the size of one tire. Its designed to be parked under desk, in a corner, closet or car trunk. After one year of riding my bike to the gym Tracey Tellian the General Manager abruptly tells me I cant come back with it. She then hid in her office providing no explanation or discussion. I decided to cancel my membership after having Chris Pette the Fitness Service Manager and David Powell the Customer Care Manager yell at me. They were completely unprofessional and not willing to discuss their concerns calmly. I realize that I am just another customer to them but they need to treat every customer with respect and patience. The classes are hit or miss. Some teachers are great and others leave you regretting you attended. The locker room is not very tidy. Try it out on a weeknight and you will run into curious smells, hair all over the stalls and a shortage of towels. I usually avoided the locker room for that reason. At White Plains NYSC youre just another number and will have to deal with unprofessional management, hit or miss teachers and a dirty locker room. Ive decided to invest in a gym that provides a better service and respects their customers. There are just too many options to put up with unreasonable treatment.
