We had the WORST experience with PODS® out of Asheville, NC and will absolutely never work with them again. • DELIVERY: You have to call in exactly one day prior to pod delivery to get an estimated delivery time that falls within a 3-hour range. The inability to allow the customer/movers more advanced notice makes planning to pack the pod a logistical nightmare. Despite the fact that we specifically requested a morning delivery, we were provided a delivery time range on 13 June from 13:15 – 16:15. The pod was actually delivered just outside of that range, 16:20, because, in the driver’s words, the previous customer was being an “ass”. Ostensibly a 5-minute delay seems benign, however the operator that we contacted the morning of delivery (13 June) informed us that everything was ahead of schedule and the pod would most likely be delivered before 13:15. My wife and I wasted an entire day waiting for the delivery of our pod, which was then delivered/placed in a different location than we had requested and on uneven ground so we had to pack it at a slope, placing all the contents on one side of the pod with an additional and unnecessary weight burden. • PICK-UP: Our pod was supposed to be picked up on 15 June, somewhere between 12:45 – 15:45, however when we called the day of pick up (15 June) at 17:00 our pod still had not been collected. Come to find out that our pod had not been collected until 17 June (exact time unknown)! As a result of this mistake, all the contents of our pod sat out under the June sun opposed to the protection of their warehouse for 2 days. Additionally, we were then informed that the delivery of our pod to our destination would now be 5 days later than originally scheduled (29 June opposed to 24 June). When we contacted Customer Service regarding this problem, they offered to compensate us $375.00, which is only a fraction of what we paid for this “service”. Moving is an extraordinary stress and financial burden. We are moving across country into an empty house with >99% of our possessions packed in the pod. When you have to move you definitely want to work with a company that understands this and functions accordingly. Nothing that we were originally told/agreed to when we hired PODS® out of Asheville, NC has been satisfied, however they did successfully charge our credit card on the front end of this transaction before ever providing a single service. I will be sure to contact the North Carolina Office of the Attorney General, North Carolina State Consumer Protection Offices (Dept of Agriculture & Consumer Services), the Better Business Bureau of Northwest North Carolina, as well as file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission in regards to our treatment with this company.

There is not an option to give no stars or I would have given them a zero. Our experience with pods has been nothing short of horrible. I have spent countless hours waiting to speak to someone. My calls have been dropped without any call back. I have been promised callbacks that never came. They have lost track of my pods and even what city they were in. I have had multiple failed promises for delivery. It is a great idea and I thought pods would be the best way to move. It has made our move needlessly complex and they have made about $25,000 on our move. At this point Im not even sure they will find my last filled pod. My recommendation is to not even consider using pods until they get their act together.

PODS picked up and delivered at both ends of my move when they said they would. I had professional movers load up my pod, which was held for a 28 days before delivering to my new location. Not one thing was damaged. I used pods to avoid having all my stuff loaded up, unloaded at a storage place, loaded up again and then finally unloaded at the new place. It worked just as I had hoped. My only complaint would be that I had to pay for another whole month of storage, because I could not have my pod delivered two days earlier. This was actually less than one month of storage. Paying for two full months of storage and actually getting less than one full month felt like a rip-off.

I was quite satisfied with the entire process of moving using PODS. From my initial phone contact thru the final one, the people I spoke with were polite, helpful, and informative. All the personnel were very knowledgeable about the process & their jobs ( what fun to watch them move that BIG box on & off the trailer!), and they were friendly. The cost was about what I expected from a moving company, however, I was able to control the timing of my packing & unpacking - which was a blessing! - and I could leave my box in a safe environment until I was ready to unpack it. I would use the PODS system again (but I really dont ever want to move again!!!)

UNBELIEVABLE!!! Asheville location was very quick to deliver my POD. Perfect. Loaded it. Gave them the 3-7 day window that they asked for to move it. CANT MOVE IT FOR 3 WEEKS!!!! By then, I no longer own the property, and I cant move the POD without their help. STAY AWAY!!! They will get you the pod quickly. If they didnt, youd do something else. But once you load it, it takes 3 weeks for them to schedule a pickup!!!

PODS really delivered for us! Our move from North Jersey to Western North Carolina couldnt have been smoother, even though it was in the dead of winter and steep, windy mountain roads had to be navigated. The drivers were great and only one light bulb broke (I think I didnt pack it very carefully. LOL) I highly recommend using PODS.

Our pod is infested with mice and roaches. I will never do business here ever again. Please stay away. DO NOT PURCHASE THE ADDITIONAL INSURANCE. it is a rip off! I have a $10K policy that does not cover infestation? I understand buyer beware, but damn!
