So, I had originally gone to the Planet Fitness on Reynolda-to get a tour and learn more about Planet Fitness-the lady would not give me a tour, had said to come back tomorrow but she did go over some things and explained the memebership to me. I wasnt too fond of not being given a tour and feeling like I was somewhat of annoyance-I like to think that she just had a rough day and was ready to be done-so, instead of going back to that one, I went to the one on Peters Creek, went in, a guy named Kevin, I believe, was quick to greet me and I had said that I was looking to possibly sign up for a membership but would like a tour before doing so. Kevin gave me a thorough tour and explained everything very clearly! He was enthusiastic and absolutely nice! I went in to actually workout for the first time at PF yesterday, and once again, I was greeted by Kevin and another employee. Kevin remembered my name and again, was super nice! The gym was very clean and there was no odor. The womens locker room/bathroom--I was astonished at how clean and nice it was! Quite impressed! I had gotten the "black card" membership -so I could go to different locations and also the use of the tanning beds. I really cant believe its $20 a month for all the perks you get! I havent yet tried the tanning bed or massage chairs but I will soon! Everything appeared to be super clean! I was a previous memebership at another gym and PF really stands above it! The only con(s) I can think of would be the closing at 7 pm on Saturdays & Sundays but I was already aware of their hours so not a big deal at all. Really excited to start my weightloss journey at Planet Fitness!

I started going to this gym about two or three months ago. Ill make this short and sweet: The good: - - Staff are friendly. One guy I see working there, when come in and go out always gives me a thumbs up. Hes cool. The other staff are all great though. - - Clean. The equipment is taken care of and clean. Other than a couple squeaky treadmills, the equipment seems to be well maintained too. - - Cheap. For $10 a month for a basic membership (thats about 33 cents a day), you can get access to quite a bit of good equipment, and do most anything you could want to do in a gym. The bad: - - This is more of a complaint about the company as a whole, than anything. But I hate their stupid "Lunk Alarm" it is rather distracting, even through blaring music in my headphones. I dont quite understand how it is triggered, but its unnecessary since the overwhelming majority of the patrons are polite about clanging the equipment. - - I dont like the area. Its a bit ratty. (Not knocking a star off for that though) Overall, Id give a 4.5/5 stars. The half star is for the ridiculous "Lunk Alarm" that always looms over your head.

For $10 a month Im very satisfied with this gym. It has the basic equipment needed for a decent workout program, and its always very clean. After working out here for a year, I have 2 complaints: 1) The A/C and ventilation is piss poor. All of the main vents and fans are directly over only one side of the gym. So while the cardio folks stay cool, the air remains stagnant and muggy on the side with the weight machines. Very poor planning IMO. 2) If youre a stronger individual, you may be limited due to the fact that some of the weight machines can easily be maxed out or that you can only find dumbbells up to 70lbs and barbells up to 60lbs. I understand that the gym operates on volume and getting newbies to join, but it appears PF does so at the expense of not going the extra couple steps to accommodate stronger people to add some extra brick plates to standard gym equipment that is overwhelmingly common at any other facility Ive been to.

The only problem I have about this gym is it is not open 24hrs a day even though all the signs in/on the building say so Me and my buddy come in early mornings(5am-6am), as it is normally super busy at the other times we can go, we wanted to do 7 days a week going in that early but they dont open until 7am on weekends, but all the other PFs in the area are open 24hrs 7 days a week, why is this one different? As this Is the only PF on my way to work it limits the time I can go as I dont have time to make during their 7am-7pm hours on Saturday and Sunday, if they are not going to be open 24/7 why have signs saying so. Thiat is the only complaint I have about this location as the staff here is very friendly and polite, the place is also always very clean

I signed up at Planet Lunkless under the impression it was open 24 hours. The only time I can work out is after 9pm. The one closest to me on Peters Creek informed me they would be changing their hours to close at 9pm and 7pm weekends. BUT the new one on Reynolda would be open 24/7. Well I just went to work out and it was CLOSED ON A FRIDAY NIGHT AT 9PM. YET THE DAMN SIGN ON THE WINDOW SAYS OPEN 24 HOUR. RIGHT BELOW IT IS SAYS 6-9 MON -FEI AND 7-7 SAT AND SUN . WHICH IS IT??? I HATE THIS GYM BUT I A HAD NO CHOICE AT THE TIME BECAUSE THEY ADVERTISE BEING OPEN 24 HOURS. AND IT IS THE ONLY PLACE I CAN AFFORD.I WISH SOMEONE WOULD OPEN A REAL 24 HOUR GYM FOR THE SAME $20 A MONTH.

Dont use PF!!!... I liked PF at first but after about 6 months of the same old repeated routine, it just gets old. I called, emailed, wrote letters(3 times ) and spoke to the people at my local PF to cancel my membership. Did it happen??!! NO!! A I kept seeing repeatedly charge after charge come out of my bank account month after month. I began to get over drafted because when the payment wouldnt go through the first time PF would try again and again. I emailed and called and wrote...and repeat...nothing worked!! Now what has happened?? My bank account is highly overdrawn and closed out..I would NOT recommend this gym to anyone for this specific reason.

So, my girlfriend and I have been to Planet Fitness twice now since we signed up. The first time, it was closed without explanation on a Friday afternoon, even though their posted hours are "24/7". Second time, we worked out for less than an hour when an employee walked by and informed me that they were going to close in five minutes, at 7pm. Im starting to think that 24/7 just means theyre open for 24 days of the year till 7:00. We feel pretty cheated -- but I guess considering its a $10 gym, were getting exactly what we paid for.
