A solid 5 star rating without reservation. Our AC went out in early August, when daily highs were in the mid 80s to mid 90s. As my wife works from home, we had to have it fixed quickly. Calling Blind and Sons was a reaction to seeing one of their mailers on the kitchen island. The technician looked over the system, identified it needed recharged but was cautious to advise us it might not work. He also advised if it did not & we decided on a new unit from them, the cost would be waived. We tried it, it didnt work, & started getting bids from various companies including Blind & Sons. All 4 bids came in relatively close. After examining our system & asking what our plans were (will we be staying in this home, leaving, etc.), all advised to replace both the furnace & AC unit as came with the home 17 years ago. We also told them we wanted a humidifier installed on the furnace. There were 2 things that swayed us to Blind & Sons: first, it was Jim Blind who came out & quoted a system for us. His understanding & professionalism were top notch. He also was the only contractor who advised we go DOWN in size on our AC unit. Days after the bid, I called him & drilled him on that. He convinced me he had done his homework & in his professional opinion a slightly smaller unit would be more efficient for us. The second reason (& most important to my wife): they would be able to install everything in one day, & that one day would be Thursday - & this was Tuesday. We were able to have the contracts signed by sending them as email attachments & it was a go. The crew arrived right on time early Thursday morning. I had gone into the office for the morning & my wife was very comfortable allowing Brad B.; Chris K.; Hany G.; & Kevin M. in & around our home. I arrived home at about 11:00AM to one issue: after draining the water heater to install the humidifier it sprung a leak. Bad timing, but again it was original to the home & over 17 years old. The crew had already alerted Jim; we called him when I arrived home. Always of the opinion that the water heater was too small, we decided to go up in size & had it installed the very next day. By 5:00PM on Thursday, our new AC, furnace & humidifier were in. The driveway was clear of all boxes, old HVAC units, & vehicles. Now that we have had the opportunity to live with the system during single digit temperatures & those close to 3 digits, we can say we are very pleased. Jim was correct - our air conditioning works fine. The whole system is much more quiet than the old system. The install is very neat & tight. Blind & Sons will be our "go to" contractor for HVAC, plumbing, & electrical from here on out. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

where to start ?? should change there name to Rob you Blind & Shady Sons i called to have a sells person out to give me a quote for a new 2 stage furnace and ac unit . sells guy has out gave me a price have a free furnace with ac purchase so i went with it asked if i could keep my nest thermostat said i could but i would need to run a 5th wire. before he left he email me a copy of my purchase did not receive it so i texted him, he said i will resend it never did asked a couple of more times and then i gave up. day of the install i had the new furnace and ac units installed and the water heater pipe was reconfigured since the furnace was vented another way the furnace install guys i would highly recommend them it was the best part of my whole experience such nice guys but i had to leave for work so the start up was not complected so another tech had to come out and finish the start up. told me i was not getting the top efficacy as its set up now. the tech said i would need a 5th wire installed that i would be charged for another service call plus parts and labor or purchase a Bluetooth thermostat for the low low price of $800 yes $800. i said i talked to the sales person and said i would have the 5th wire installed he said he would look in to it and could not find it on the write up form the sales person wrote up great i spend $10,000 and cant get a thermostat that works with my furnace so i works to it full capacity. so my furnace runs 17 minutes on low fan speed before it kicks on to high fan speed to heat my house and since it runs longer now the motor will burn out quicker and will probably be told its my fault for not but the $800 thermostat and to top it off i have to have my furnace and ac unit service with them so i dont void my 10 year warranty. one last thing i finally got a copy my invoice to find i was charged almost $700 to have a new roof vent cap and maybe 4 feet of pipe was replaced to my water heater so $600 a hour to install and $100 in parts im in the wrong profession, at that price i would of did it myself or at the least expected the whole vent to be replaced from the water heater to the roof. i would not recommend them to anyone i hope this never happens to anyone. i have dealt with some bad company but this one is the worst

Not good experience with blind and sons. My honest review is that my wife and I are unhappy with Blind and sons. I understand nobody holds a gun to our heads making us choose Blind and Sons. But since we live in Barberton and they have been in business forever, we thought it was a good choice. To sum it up, the salesman sold us the job, but failed to tell us how difficult it would be for the installers. Maybe he didnt know, but the way we perceived him, he was knowledgeable and appeared to be professional. When the installers showed up, right off the bat there was a discrepancy with the charges. My wife had to call me home from work to straighten it out. They ran into issue after issue all day. When I actually got off work at the end of the day, they were still there. They were all frustrated and were complaining about everything. Long story short, the installation was not good. The sheet metal was sloppy, the plumbing was out of level, my pachysandra was trampled and later died. They couldnt figure out how to wire the new thermostat in, so they had to use a wireless model which they tried to act like they were doing us a favor by giving us a wireless unit. They also acted like we were lucky they were able to complete the install and we should be paying more money for this. I came within a few seconds of telling them to rip it out and take it all back. Then, today they sent a service truck to my house to perform some kind of service that we had no idea about. The inconsiderate driver drove his van in our driveway destroying one of our bushes with his ladder rack. Very unprofessional and there is no way I would ever go to a customers house and destroy anything. And if I did, I would apologize and offer compensation. Both times they destroyed my landscaping, nothing was said or done. This is unacceptable. The problem with business nowadays is that all they care about is getting the job. After that, the care about nothing. I wish we would have used Home Depot like we almost did. Our mistake.
