JM Design Build far exceeded our expectations with the entire process. While vetting several builders in the Cleveland area, JM shot up to the top of our list for a couple of reasons. My brother-in-law used JM to do a remodel of their kitchen/dining room, and I was very impressed with the quality of their work. I was also impressed by how responsive and courteous they were with their replies. Youll be shocked at how prompt the responses are. I dont like to bother people on the weekend, but that didnt stop JM from providing me details and info during the weekends, when I wasnt expecting it. We were very happy how accessible Kevin the owner was during the entire process. They were very easy to communicate with and treated us with patience as we went back and forth with questions regarding the scope of the project, and trying to fit within our budget. We determined JM Design was our builder of choice because: 1. They were very responsive, courteous, and up front with all the information we were looking for 2. The quality of their work was easy to see with pictures from their website, and seeing the work they provided for a family member 3. Their price was fair compared to other quotes we received (Not the cheapest, but we’ve made the mistake with going with the cheapest too many times). 4. We had a very unique and challenging design in our minds. Rather than suggesting less complicated or easier designs, JM loved the idea, and confident they could make it a reality 5. They invested the time to respond to dozens of email/text questions/concerns and made several trips to our home to help us discover the best plan for the budget we had Once we signed the contract and started the build, I was surprised that JM Design Build continued to treat us like they were earning our business, as other contractors weve used didnt seem to be as pleasant once they secured the business. As each working day would end, JMs team would clean up the job site, leaving it secure, and removing any hazards, which allowed my family to continue using the back yard, and my dog to run around without the threat of stepping in anything that could hurt him. These guys were very flexible during the build as we wanted to make last second minor changes, Kevin the owner worked with us to provide multiple options, and worked with us to provide multiple drawings of the project so we can get it right. JM was very diligent while working with our city to follow very specific building codes, and inspections. We cannot say enough about the building team. It didn’t take long for the experience and expertise of their carpenter Neil to show, as the small details of the project were very impressive. Our neighbor went out of her way to tell me how she was impressed with how detail oriented the build team was. She said, “I knew you were going to get a quality product because how detailed everyone was being.” Kevin the owner pointed out a couple of things that he thought weren’t perfect and that we didn’t even notice, and they would fix. My wife and I are extremely happy with the final product. We were expecting the worst based on our previous experience with multiple builders, but we ended up with the best. JM Design Build finished our project on time, and never once came to my wife and I asking for more money than we agreed on. In fact I know they had to make additional fixes they weren’t planning on, because of mistakes or poor work done by the previous builder of the deck. JM Design Build IS THE FIRST builder/contractor that my wife are happy to refer.

I cannot recommend Jerry and the JM Design Build Team highly enough and look forward to working with them again on future projects. Project: Basement remodel (wet bar, theater, fireplace, full bath). We contracted JM to design and build out a finished basement for our family of five. After discussing our project with several contractors we were close to selecting one before meeting Jerry at JM. He was immediately able to offer thoughtful suggestions on how to better use the space and provided a fair and sufficiently detailed quote. TRUST: A project like this requires you to trust your home to strangers for months and this was not an issue at all. The JM team did a good job communicating when and who would be at our house on particular days and were flexible when needed. The employees I worked with were professional and courteous. FLEXIBILITY: While we went into the project with a plan some changes were inevitable to make the project turn out right. JM was extremely reasonable with some of these changes along the way and in several cases pro-actively made no, or low cost suggested changes to improve the project. In the case of our bar, the team framed out the entire space per our design so my wife and I could see it and make adjustments before finalizing. This really helped put the space in perspective and allowed us to improve the design. Jerry and the team were extremely flexible with design choices (counters, colors, fixtures, etc.) and the outside supply firms they recommended were easy to work with and had a good selection. QUALITY: We couldnt be happier with the quality of the workmanship. The drywall work was outstanding and in several cases, the JM team pointed out and subsequently fixed minor quality issues that I overlooked. VALUE: We finished the basement so our family (read: kids!) could enjoy it, but I was also hoping some of the investment we made would be reflected in the resale value of our home. We refinanced after the project and received a substantially higher appraisal than we did ~2yrs ago, mostly covering the cost of the project. I didnt know JM before selecting them for this project and stand to gain nothing from posting this review, I just want to share what a great job they did for our family.

We called JM Design Build for a full kitchen and bath remodel. We were impressed with how quickly our initial call was returned and a consultation appointment scheduled. Kevin was prompt, courteous, honest and fair in the recommendation and price that they gave for both jobs. We liked the fact that we got to pick out everything – cabinets, countertops, flooring, tile, etc. and pay for it ourselves – not thru the remodeling company. That way we knew the true price of everything. Kevin did provide guidance as far as companies to work/shop with and we were offered the JM discount when available which helped us save some money. This was a big job - our walls were taken down to the studs and the floor to the original. Anytime you do a job of this magnitude you are bound to run into issues. Things happen. Jeremy and Kevin rose to the occasion anytime we hit an issue. Once we reported an issue they were again prompt in their response and made things right which we are very, very grateful for. Overall we are very happy with our remodel. I am a cook that makes just about everything from scratch so the kitchen was very important. I can say that the kitchen design flows wonderfully and the bath is like a spa! We went from a dark, poorly laid out kitchen and a crowded bath with a tiny tub to a beautiful corner shower with glass walls and an amazingly beautiful and functional, bright kitchen!
