I am usually someone who goes to nail salons that charge $35-45 for mani, pedis and eyebrow waxes, but I wanted to treat myself to a nice salon experience before starting school again. I chose Salon Beck because of the great ratings. When I arrived, I was a little shocked to see that the nail/waxing area seemed to be an "add-on" in this salon - next to the bathroom and the employees break room. There was one chair in the corner and two nail desks, which, for a salon downtown charging $100 for a mani, pedi and eyebrow wax, does not seem entirely fitting. I asked for a classic pedicure, which is approximately $20 more than the express pedicure, and frankly, they gave me a normal pedicure without any glitz - no paraffin wax or even heated towels. I will say that the nail esthetician Mercedes was really sweet and she did do a great job on my nails. The entire experience took more than two hours, but it had nothing to do with the actual supposed "salon" experience. After they completed my manicure, I got my eye brow wax which I was somewhat disappointed with and they burned my skin. And they did not even give me an opportunity to dry my manicure and rushed me out the door to see the next client. All in all, I would not go back and spend that type of money for the overall quality that I received. I expect more from a downtown salon charging that type of money, especially for basic services you can receive at half the price for the same quality.

The first time I went here was a great experience, but the second time I returned for a haircut with a different woman. I was very clear and told her what I wanted, I even brought her a picture to reference... she completely chopped up my hair, gave me ridiculously short bangs, pretty much the complete opposite of what I said... I had to ask her twice to thin my hair out. She just didnt seem to understand what I asked for and completely botched my hair. I know this seems trivial but its pretty distressing to have to deal with a really bad haircut. My hair has grown out since then but to be honest the way she chopped my bangs still gives me problems. Im sure that most of the people here are very professional but theyve lost me after my last time there. Just be careful with who they assign you with and make sure they know what youre asking for.

I went here for the first time yesterday after the great reviews I read on Yelp and Google and I must say, the reviews were on point! I called on a Friday and they got me in that following Monday. I had an appointment at 5:15 and arrived at 5:10 and did not have to wait a single minute before my Stylist, Kate (aka KP), took me over. I showed her a picture of a black/dark brown to red ombre hair style I found on Pinterest and she completely mirrored what I had shown her. This was my first time getting ombre (which I have always been hesitant to get because of horror stories Ive heard) and I am SO happy I scheduled with KP at Salon Beck to do it. I live downtown so parking wasnt an issue for me since I walked, but if you need to park, theyll validate your ticket for you. I have finally found my go-to salon after living in Cincinnati for a year!

Im from Washington, DC here for meeting with Small Businesses and was a walk-in for a pedicure but decided to get a gel set also with Mercedes. She was great. Nice young lady with a bit of spunk! The only challenges was that it was freezing and there was a gentleman there that while he seemed very personable I could hear him for awhile speaking with other clients about clients. Loudly. I know it can get loud in salons (thankfully its not a spa) but he was just loud. And to top it off it came across as gossipy. The music was all over the place which can be great but to go from mellow soft rock to Drake is strange. Salon Beck is a cool place but just could use a little refresher.

Stylists there were super nice. It was my first time there and since its so crazy downtown with parking and streets one stylist actually rode with me to their garage and walked me back to the salon. As for my hair cut, I have never been more satisfied and felt sexier than now! So many people have complimented me on my hair and I have a style that fits my personality. The girl that did my hair is Kerry. I definitely recommend this salon.

I tell everyone I know to go to Salon Beck. This is a great, high-end salon that staffs talented, experienced and VERY friendly stylists. Mariah completely transformed my hair over three different sessions, because she was committed to the overall health of my hair, rather than doing something drastic in one sitting that would cause too much damage. My hair now is a complete 180 from how it looked a year ago :) keep it up Salon Beck!

My appointment was originally for a full highlights but i changed my mind and decided to do a full color instead, during the process the hair dresser was quite persistent on persuading me to do anothermore pricier treatment, and I didnt go for it, when i went to check out , they charged me double the usual cost of the treatment i had!!

This is a top notch salon with a staff that is always up to snuff with the industry standards. They are knowledgeable on the latest products, styles, and techniques.

Beautiful salon, friendly staff. Was referred by a friend, she said the manicurist there was the cutest and most meticulous. Totally right on, Bopa is truly a perfectionist, she does a great job with my no chip nails! Half of my office goes to her, take note, make appointments, shes popular!!!

I got a botch balayage ombre by Melissa. Instead of getting what I asked for, I was ignored and got the exact opposite. The entire bottom half of my hair was bleached, with no gradual or blended look. Just a harsh line, and many hours wasted on trying to get this fixed elsewhere.

I went over my lunch break for a Mani/Pedi and it was wonderful. Everyone was so friendly. I was greeted right away and offered coffee. Mercedes did a fantastic job on my mani/pedi. I tried out a color thats not normal for me and it turned out perfectly. I will definitely return.
