I purchased my daughters prom dress from Fashion by Fowler that recommended me taking the dress to Shaker Square Dry Cleaning for alterations. We took the dress to the shop a week later for measurements. We never removed the dress from the bag until we were in the shop. The alterations that needed to be done were pretty simple: to bring in the front of the dress, tighten loose beads, to resow a bead in the front, tighten the clamps around the neck, move a diamond from front to back to replace a missing diamond, and to add a bustle. We were told it will take a week to complete. We returned to the shop to try on the dress Elina the seamstress was there. The dress was too tight around the neck it would not latch, the bustle was hanging by a piece of thread close to my daughters rear end it was about to snap, the diamond was moved to the wrong spot, the seam in the back of the dress was coming apart, and the bead in front was crooked. I asked what happened to the seam she stated she did not know and told me she did not touch that part of the dress. The dress was not like that at the time of purchase. I also notice the front of the dress which is a clear tan mesh was showing coral thread. I asked if that could be hidden she said yes. I requested the bustle be moved down lower, the seam sewed back correctly, and the thread to be hidden, and fix the straighten the bead in front. We were told about a week. We returned Elina was not there just the 2 clerks. The thread was hidden, the bustle was moved, the seam was still coming apart, and now the inside lining had a run in it which is very noticeable, the clamps on the neck were not tighten, and the diamond not moved in the correct location, and the bead still crooked. We were told another week. We returned the seam is correct, the bead still crooked, the wrong diamond moved, the clamps not tight one of them is now missing, and the run is still in the lining. Leana and a different clerk was there. We asked to have the bead corrected, and replace the clamp. I asked if she could fix the lining she said no. She stated we did something to it. I asked why we want to ruin a dress that we paid over $400 for to have to keep coming back to get it fixed. We asked her to make some accomodations for her not correctly altering the dress. She said no and she has done enough and she got work to do. She would not listen, she kept talking over me, and insisted that I pay for the work that she did/did not do. I was upset my daughter was upset and I would not recommend my dog collars to be washed there. She was very rude and the clerk that was there agreed and stated she is always rude to her. I left the shop took the dress to another seamstress that will resow the beads as requested and will find a way to fix the lining inside the dress. What a horrible experience with this place. They had the dress since February and it is now April and we are still looking at getting alterations done because Lena ruined the dress. The total money spent was $140 after a 10% discount of being recommended. This lady need to learn from other seamstress that customers paying she be a customer saying what they want.

In a business that is completely focused on customer service, this establishment did not put a good foot forward. As a first time customer, I dropped off a leather coat for a new zipper and cleaning on 3/23. I prepaid the entire amount of the work. The work was promised to be completed on 4/8, 16 days later, after 4:30. When I came in to pick it up, I was told that it was not available until tomorrow. When I asked why, I was told that the person who does the leather cleaning changed his delivery time and it would not be available until the next day. When I asked when this was known, the employee stated that he changed this the prior week. I asked why, since all my phone information was taken when I dropped off the coat, could I not have been contacted so I would not go out of my way to the store. I swear, she looked at me like I was a two-headed alien for even suggesting such a level of customer service. Not once were words like "sorry", "apologize", used; indeed, the tone was clear that nothing more will be done or offered for my inconvienience. The attitude of the employee betrayed no interest in providing superior customer service. Since the actual services provided by this establishment are easily duplicated, I would strongly suggest one find a business that is actually interested in providing the one thing that makes one cleaning and/or tailoring place different from another – a place that keeps its promises, and when it cant, take the lead in providing an alternative.

I am a long time customer but never experienced poor customer service by the clerk AND the owner. I purchased a skirt that needed taking in . The clerk could not quote me a price but took a $20 deposit . Ok . The owner called and gave me a final price . When I went to pick up my skirt I paid the difference and after I paid they REFUSED to give me a receipt of what I paid....No you read this right no receipt. How can you take someones payment and NOT give them a receipt. POOR POOR SERVICE

Just took some dress shirts and a suit in yesterday and picked it up today. Both shirts had creases in them where there shouldnt be. A LOT of creases. And these shirts were new and expensive. Also, the lady who works there in the morning was rather rude and cold. They get one star because the lady who was there when I picked them up was really nice and because the suit wasnt damaged (that I saw). I will definitely find somewhere else to go next time.

I went in to get the lace on my wedding dress altered a month before my wedding. I was in my first trimester at the time and warned her that I might gain some weight. She assured me that I would be ok. I came back a week and a half before my wedding and she was able to make 2 separate alterations on the dress in plenty of time for the wedding (I gained weight ha). The dress fit perfect!! I couldnt be more happy with the service I received!!!

Awful Awful Awful. Prices are extremely expensive. They ask you to pay more for cleaning than you pay for your clothes. The owner is nasty and very rude with awful customer service skills. She thinks just because shes in Shaker Square the prices should be outrageous. My clothes come back dirty with lint on one of my dresses. It should be illegal to charge these outrageous price and especially with such terrible work.

Horrible job and horrible communication skills. I had my expensive wedding skirt for dry cleaning and they returned it back to me after a 2 day delay from the original date planned with stains all over it. The lady who is kind of the owner was absolutely unapologetic and rude. Manager is never on site. And they still charged me for dry cleaning that piece.
