Its easy to be pleasant when things are running smoothly, HOWEVER the real test to tell whether or not someone is worth a damn, in terms of giving them your business, is how they treat you when theres a problem, and for that reason I wont be using them again, and this is coming from someone who has been a regular customer at this Tuffy for the past 5 YEARS. Dont let all these nice reviews fool you. The owners name is Neil, and hes the nicest most professional guy youll ever meet AS LONG AS YOU NEVER COMPLAIN, however when you do, expect that smile to turn into a mean frown, expect him to be defensive, if its an issue with price, expect to be told that hes the cheapest around town (which is a lie), expect to be mocked, and to be spoken to in a condescending tone, and told that your situation and/or concerns are minuscule/insignificant.

So a bad experience somewhere else has made me pause and reflect the good experiences I have had here at Tuffy’s and with Neil. So often reviews get written from a bad experience or slightly pushed to raise awareness or balance a bad. Tuffy’s tries harder and cares, I was even offered a ride home once instead of waiting. I know that can’t be the normal, they don’t have time to mess with giving people rides. But I think they were less busy the normal and really cared about me. Neil is very honest and open about everything. Prices are fair and competitive for the area. This is a clean place with good work done. Shame on me for poking at other places instead of sticking with places I have good experiences and trust.

I recently had a very disappointing experience with Tuffy on W. Broad. My engine failed catastrophically 4 weeks after having my spark plugs replaced. One of the spark plugs they re-threaded blew out causing severe cylinder head damage, and several of the other spark plugs they replaced were dangerously loose. This happened in KY on a Christmas road trip, leaving me stranded for three days. They refused to repair the damage, despite the service being "warrantied". Neil was very friendly when I had the work done, but gave me the cold shoulder when my engine catastrophically failed due to faulty repair.

There is a severe lack of communication within this shop. Simple, straightforward instructions are difficult for the staff here. Dropped off vehicle with instructions to check/change both sets of front wheel bearings and that the bearings I had already purchased were in the passenger seat. Got a call saying vehicle was ready, went ro retrieve it and found out not only were the wheel bearings that I provided not used, only one side had been checked/repaired. Tuffy = tuffy for me to provide return business.

Maybe a place to get car repairs for a long wait but not for oil change. I made an appointment for noon, its been 38 minutes past noon and still have not taken my car. Its not a good choice to make if its the only time you have in the day out of the whole week. I tried the 15 minutes oil change places before and they seem to leave the cap off and youre having to go back. Had to make the choice to not come back here for an oil change. Too bad.

What a great place to get your car work done, Neil and his team always do a great job for me get me in and out they never try to sell me something I dont need they go over all the repairs so you know exactly what they are fixing and what you are getting charge for and the prices are great too. I live in Dublin and drive here for all my auto repairs.Thanks Neil and team!

A mechanic I trust!! Neil has always been very honest with everything Ive had done there. He doesnt try to push anything on you and really runs a quality shop. I keep going back because its so hard to find a good mechanic who wont rip you off. For what its worth, Im a pretty skeptical guy, and hes earned my trust.

Nobody likes car repairs but if you have to have work done I wholeheartedly recommend Neil and the guys at Tuffy. They wont take advantage of you and offer advice, even if that advice doesnt put money in their registers. I always recommend this place to my friends.
