I never leave reviews but I feel compelled to share how awful of a gym this is. Pretty poorly kept facility probably as a result of a rushed construction process. Water systems were down/low for a couple months. After signing a contract, they dropped their closing times by an hour. Needs deodorized in many places, namely by the "training center" foam mats. Unfriendly staff that even goes so far as to insult their clientele that arent engaging in personal training sessions (nothing is outright exclusive to personal training clients, though one trainer has thrown multiple tantrums over me -politely asking- if I may use a jump platform that was serving no higher purpose than being a desk for his absolute joke of a training program). Basketball court size is laughably small and you can barely stand at the 3 point corners without rubbing against a wall. There are never any decent basketballs on hand because theres no sign-out system, so most pass holders are stuck playing with the one egg-shaped ball everyone has deemed not even worth stealing. Swimming pool/hot tub is right at the entrance, screened in with glass, robbing anyone hoping to relax in private of their goal. How people are rating this 5 stars is beyond me. I travel 40 minutes consistently just to go to the Beachwood location when this one is just down the road. Im honestly hard pressed to find a single positive thing about this place apart from the atmospheric interior design and new equipment. Some machines are unique and a welcome change of pace, but for the overall headache this place will put you through at sign-up, it is not worth it in the slightest.

The gym is clean, most staff is nice, group fitness instructors are Great. The gym doesnt offer a 1/4th of classes other local gyms offer!! We ask what ever 20 something that happens to be the manager that week (high staff turnover in front desk), and they ignore us. They tell us to contact jasmine the group fitness director but she ignores our request for more group classes!!! We have collectively asked for Zumba toning, hip hop, and especially Barre Class!!! There is no group classes friday after 9:45 am or 5:45 pm (nothing in between or a 7pm class) . There are no group classes after 11am on saturday or sunday. The local Ymca, Natatorium, local dance studios, offer way more !Even other LA Fitnesses offer way more classes! In the year that I have been there , they promise to add more classes or they ignore you completely when you speak with management. I tried using their hard plastic water weights , they bruise and cut you when doing a pool workout, and they refuse to frost the glass so everyone outside cant peer in at you in your bathing suit!! They ignore any suggestions or request, and direct you to Jasmine who does nothing . They even took away suggestion box. Oh and half the time the music cuts of on our awesome instructors and they have to stop class to fix it!

If they had zero stars this is what I would give this gym. They are scammers! I was home for Christmas Break and joined the gym, under the guidance of Anthony, for two months. He assured me multiple times it was a one time charge no strings attached. He even gave me a 2 week pass to come back over spring break. Isnt that great! WRONG. Once I started school again I noticed they had taken it upon themselves to charge my credit card for another full month of membership. Thinking they made a simple mistake, I called back and spoke with Anthony who told me it was his fault and he would refund my credit card. This was lie number one and he continued to lie to me when I called back asking what had happened to my refund when it never should up on my credit card statement. Liz, also has terrible business management skills. I spoke to her on the phone and explained the whole situation. She assured me she would look into the situation and call me back. What a joke! Guess what? I never got the call back. Its not so much about the money as it is about being lied to and getting scammed. If you happen to see Anthony or Liz at this gym please tell them Im still waiting on that phone call and my refund, or at least 5 rounds at the bar on them (PS I like Titos and tonic).

DO NOTTTTT SIGN UP FOR PERSONAL TRAINING!!!! The worst experience of my life! I hired a "personal trainer" only to find out she was not a personal trainer. Day one went well. Day two she was 15 min late. Day 3, she no showed-- manager said she quit that morning. He assigned me to another trainer-- I had to wait 20 min for because she was w another client. I spent 30 minutes that day trying to cancel my personal training to no avail (btw: its a year long contract). The manager ( who is very arrogant and cold) insisted this will never happen again, and the new trainer was great, and I would be happy with her. She was standing there as we scheduled a standing appt for every Monday at 9:30a. Should go well right?? Monday at 9:30 she was a no show. The managers excuse was that I was not on the schedule. VERY DISORGANIZED... VERY INCOMPETENT! I DO NOT RECOMMEND SIGNING UP FOR PERSONAL TRAINING THROUGH LA FITNESS! YOU CANNOT GET YOUR MONEY BACK! THEY ARE SALESMEN ONLY! ONCE THEY GET YOUR MONEY, THATS IT! VERY COLD! This was in Cuyahoga Falls, Oh. Managers name is Anthony. Also known as AJ.

If this were a review for their child care only - theyd get a 5/5. "Noona" is incredible with my little guy and he actually looks forward to coming to the gym with dad so he can see her. Otherwise- this place will steal your money and refuse to actually follow through on what they promise when you sign up! And dont bother with the training - theyre going to suck you in with promises of all of these additional perks to signing up for their sessions but dont expect any follow-through. Call to follow up? Nah theyll just bad mouth the trainer you had and try to sell you on the next one! Family emergency have you strapped for cash? Doesnt matter to them - youre locked into their awful contract and theres no hope of any freedom, even through their corporate office. And dont be alarmed if they tell you they have documented notes on your account discussing conversations between you and management...even if they didnt happen - theyre still going to write them in as if they were inspired scripture! Ugh. Bunch of thieving criminals.

Its a nice gym with good equipment, although I would like to see more than one legitimate squat rack (Im not a huge fan of Smith machines). I always see cleaning staff and Ive never had an issue with the cleanliness of this gym except for the occasional dirt on the mats from other patrons, but Im not planning on licking the mats or anything so I dont really care. If you go during the day its usually not super busy, but if you go around 6 either go in with a backup plan for the exercises you want to do or be prepared to wait for another user to finish their sets. Keep in mind that staff works on commission and arent paid to train by the gym, so yes, they will try to pressure you into a membership/personal training/whatever and are unlikely to assist you during your workout. Its an infuriating sales model but its what theyre trained to do so dont hold it against them; if you dont want it just say no, and if you need assistance try asking another gym member.
