Typical & Expensive. I took my x-type in to have an unusual braking noise checked out. After speaking with the receptionist i handed over the keys and was seated in their very accommodating waiting area. After 35 minutes a tech finally went out and attempted to replicate the noise and was successful, and brought to my attention that the noise was related to my ABS. After this, i was seated back in the waiting area for another 40 minutes until they were ready to collect my money. They claimed the noise could be any number of things related to the ABS (e.g. sensor, bearing) and they also couldnt tell me which sensor or bearing was faulty, and that i would have to leave the vehicle to be further inspected. No problem--except i paid for a full answer. However, they were happy to collect the full 121.28 inspection fee (that was previously claimed to only be 106 including tax). So after learning this i took baby home and after cleaning each of the ABS sensors and inspecting the bearings with an experienced mechanic, learned that this was not the source of the noise. We pinpointed it to some "gummy"/darkish brake fluid and after replacing the fluid & bleeding the brake lines the noise disappeared. tl;dr--expect to pay a lot and leave disappointed--someone has to pay for the completely impractical snap-on fridge they have in their waiting area FOLLOW UP: The Europa team went out of their way to apologize for any wrong doing and refunded the whole cost of the inspection. They went out of their way to show they cared and that was refreshing. Perhaps my experience was a fluke but i am thankful for their team understanding my frustration.
I had taken my BMW to the dealership for routine maintenance. As I left there and was driving down the road not more than 10 mins. my engine overheating light came on. Had the car towed back to the dealership and was told that my engine had blown with only 100,000mi. on it. This may have been a coincidence it I believed in such things. They wanted several thousand dollars to replace the engine and would not work with me on the price. I found Europa and Jimmy quoted me a price to do the work that was substantially lower. He did a through inspection and made sure everything was replace that was required to ensure the replaced engine would not be compromised by anything else. He was honest and did not pull any punches. I have had it back for almost a month and so far it runs better than ever. I am satisfied with the craftsmanship and integrity of Europa. Thank you Jimmy!
Freezing cold morning in Cleveland, I hadnt driven my BMW X5 in a couple of days, and to no surprise the car wouldnt turn on. After troubleshooting the basics and having AAA give it a try, I googled for an independent BMW service center and spoke to Jimmy who assured me that he could fix whatever the issue was. Had the car towed to Europa and a few hours later - Jimmy had diagnosed and fixed the car. Did not overcharge me, did not try to upsell me on any other issues, great service. I usually service my car at the BMW dealership for the "convenience" knowing that Ill be paying a premium, but now that Ive found Europa - can have both great service at a fair value. Really appreciated the honesty of what next maintenance I needed as well - first time I wasnt scared into a service I didnt need.
I took my Cayman S in to have a new clutch installed. Jimmy, Dave, and the team at Europa worked with me to select the right upgrades and kept me up to date as work progressed. Even better, I thought I had a couple other issues to deal with but Jimmy researched the issues and recommended against the extra work, saving me literally thousands in expense. Then he solved two additional concerns I had (leaky valve stem, exhaust noise) as part of the service. This is an honest shop and they do high quality work. While many shops just throw parts at a problem until something fixes the issue, these guys diagnose the problem based on years of experience and deep knowledge. Then they do the right work, the right way. I strongly recommend them to anyone needing a real solution to car problems.
I recently took my BMW to Europa auro care, as the car is getting older there are a number of things that stop working, and it has been a rip-off to go to the dealership lately. Europa auto care provides an excellent alternative, Jilly Oldja, who runs the place - immediately found the problems and was able to fix it for half the price as I would have paid at the dealership. He also provides a detailed list of the repairs, and potential future problems to look out for, and my car is now back to excellent working condition. For anyone with an aging Bimmer who wants to hold on to it, give it a try - you will not look back! Highly recommend!
MORE than helpful. I was coming from Chicago on Tuesday to possibly purchase a 2010 BMW 535i xdrive, I called the day before to schedule an appointment & they were able to fit me in. They even moved my appointment an hour back when i forgot to account for the lost hour in time driving from Chicago. David was extremely helpful with my requests & Jimmy did a great inspection of the vehicle & was through with his explanations & gave me the great recommendation to buy the vehicle, that it was in great condition. I wish this shop was in Chicago so I could go there for my BMW needs in the future. Great guys, honest & intelligent.
Theres no way for me to thank you enough for the mind blowing, outstanding, unbelievable worksmanship you did on my Audi. You took my skepticalness and doubtful thoughts alway. Its truly an honor and privilege to have you work on it. The explanation on paperwork from Dave the parts knowledge of Joe and the scientific mad hatter thought process to my car of Jimmy overall truly have my business from now on. Everybody at this place gives a damn about you and your car dont think twice just go there because if they dont have the answer is guaranteed They will find it for you.
First time customer here and should the need arise again, I will be back. Jimmy (who is the General Manager) is extremely fair and is excellent at clearly explaining what work needs done and why it needs done. All the staff members whom I encountered at Europa were extremely helpful and professional. After coming here, never again will I step foot in a dealerships service department unless there is a recall or severly extenuating circumstance. Thank you Europa for your fair, honest, timely and quality work.
Brought a few domestic vehicles there on a few different occasions, after using a shop up the street previously. Reasonably priced and trustworthy people. I had a few questions, so the gentlemen up front called the technician that worked on it, and took the time to show me the parts and explain where the problems were and why they needed replaced. I write this on an 88 degree day, and the AC that they fixed on my Suburban works better than the day I bought it. Will definately be back!
This place is amazing! I would advise anyone to see Jimmy & Joe. When I called Joe got me right in for an appointment no hesitation an was very friendly. They took their time answered all questions I was concerned about. Jimmy went over all details an never once tried to upsell me on anything! Very trustworthy an down to earth place. Glad I chose this place to take my Audi they are very professional an reasonably priced. Thanks guys!
