I received TERRIBLE COSTUMER SERVICE and was CHARGED EXTRA. I had a 12 month membership and I called to inquire how to end my membership since my new apt. complex had a gym. I was informed that it would automatically end unless I renewed it. I specifically asked if I needed to end it in writing and I was informed, no it would end on its own. However I was billed on the day after my membership ended. I called Planet Fitness, and was told that I needed to talk to a manager and they would arrive in an hour and I left a message. Six hours passed and I never received a call back. Thus I called again and was informed that the manager had just left. I left another message and was told I would receive a call on Monday. The manager, Alex, did call me on Monday. I inquired as to why I was billed for a month after my membership had ended. She informed me that I did have to cancel in writing. I told her that I was incorrectly informed about the cancelation policy. She said that it did not matter, that unless I had cancelled by the 11th of the month I would automatically be charged for another month past my 12 month membership. She said that there was nothing I could do about being charged for another month since I would not have been able to cancel on the 11th of the month because of the billing process. She never apologized for the fact that I was incorrectly informed and never made an attempt to right the wrong that had happened. I am extremely unhappy with how I was treated. I contacted the corporate office and I never received a response. I dropped off a letter in writing to end my membership so that I was not charged another month past my 12 year membership and I was again told that I did not have to drop off a letter in writing. DO NOT JOIN PLANET FITNESS they do not know how to treat their costumers with respect.

Ive been going to this gym for a couple months now and I have nothing but good things to say about Planet Fitness RR. The staff has always been very welcoming, the facility is constantly being cleaned, and the equipment is in great shape. I chose the black card membership and highly recommend it to anyone thinking about joining. The massage chairs are a great way to end a workout and the aqua massage table is awesome if you need to focus on a sore area (back, elbow, etc.). Add in the red light "beauty angel" treatment (which seems kind of space age) and tanning booths (too bad Im not a tanner) and it makes the extra $10 a month well worth it. Having said (all) that if all you want to do is workout then the $10 a month is a steal (at 34 cents a day)! Seeing the low ratings for this business is, in my opinion largely inaccurate. If you have a problem with policy regarding how you pay, or the company "lunk-alarm" then you should post that at the corporate site. Compared to the other PF I went to, I felt this facility was cleaner and more inviting. Keep up the good work!

This is the absolute worst Planet Fitness I have ever been to. Have you ever seen those Royal Rumble pics that are made to jest about gyms for New Years resolutions? Well, thats what this gym is in reality. I have never seen so many peoppe crammed into one gym standing in line for benches, cardio machines, etc. Speaking of equipment, it looks like they acquired all of theirs from a thrift store. You would think when a rope looks like a dogs chew toy it would be replaced, but no, its still going strong for the last 6 months Ive been coming here. Theres no paper towels in the bathrooms, because who needs to dry their sweaty faces after you just washed it? I think the cherry on the cake is having to wait in line for water at the fountain as if youre in Flint, MI, waiting for clean water. It hasnt dawned on them to instill an auto bottle dispenser to soeed the line situation up. Worst PF EVER!!

I was the second person to join this club. I have been a member of Urban Active, Golds, Five seasons, Fitworks, Ballys and just about every gym you have heard of over the last 40 years. What can I say I like to work out. There is no better deal out there for your money than Planet fitness. $10 a month, no contract. I pay $20.00 a month for unlimited tanning and message chairs and use of any facility in the U.S. and unlimited guest memeberships but in hindsight. Pay the fee when you are out of town to workout at any gym and join a tanning place if you want and stick with the $10.00 deal. Sure you dont get the things that cost clubs a lot of money like a pool and steam room but Ballys pool and steam room are so filthy anyway I dont really like using them. This is agreat Deal. LIke RED Diamond Realty is for Real Estate Planet fitness is for fitness. Just really good service and really good prices.

The shower situation is the WORST on this planet! First you have to undress and hang your clothes in a closet sized room with one hook, nothing else to hang or lay something down. THEN you have to walk 10 feet across, naked or just with towel, to the shower which is the size of a coffin, with one hook. Then after shower, walk AGAIN naked or with towel 10ft back to where you hung your clothes with the one hook. Ridiculous! So everyone can see me 90-100% naked NO PROBLEM but they wont put a scale anywhere in the gym because they are "judgment free" ? Last time i joined a gym with no scales to measure progress was..Never...but lets stand around together and judge each other while we chow on free pizza and bagels..What a bunch of idiots. I give it 1star only because of 5am opening, the place is dopey but convenient thats the only draw.

I absolutely love my gym. Its always clean, theres hardly ever a wait for a specific machine, the staff are friendly and helpful. My only gripe is that their new tanning booth rooms dont have any shelving or chairs to put my things on. To those who complain about being charged after a year, or dont understand the fees, simply read the contract that you signed instead of giving bad reviews. There seem to be a great many exaggerations or flat out lies in some of these reviews. Yes, the parking is an issue, but the gym didnt built the complex where theyre located. No, the showers arent coffin sized, theyre large and able to accommodate even the larger guests. There have never been lines for equipment in the year and a half Ive been a member. Judge the place based upon your visit, yes, but dont lie about it

Staff is great. My girlfriend and I appreciate the tanning package along with the clean gym facility. The tanning is the easiest of the PFs in Cleveland area in that when someone is done using the room the immediately clean it and get the next person in. We have found that the other PFs make you wait until the next scheduled appt which are 20 min apart even though the person may have only tanned for 5 minutes. This is mainly an issue when everyone gets off of work and at Rocky River they are considerate of those people that dont want to spend 2 hours in the gym after work. After work in Rocky River we are usually able to get in the tanning beds within an hour of arriving which is perfect amount of time for us to get a workout before.
