OK I hate to do this, and tried to get it fixed, but they did indeed earn this review .... The story: Called, talked in detail about a minor move with Kevin. Was quoted 2 to 2-1/4 hrs. Felt very good about it. Budgeted a little more of course. Good thing! The (great!) guys got to my place on time at 1. At 3:05 they were done. Im happy. Then the driver hands me the bill: 3-1/2 hours. Whaa? When I pointed out it must be wrong, they said it included 1-1/2 hours of drive time, 45 min from their shop to my apartment, 45 minutes from my house back to the shop. I explained the quote etc. It was their last stop (on a beautiful Saturday) and I didnt want to hold them up, so I signed the paperwork (and gave them their tip) and they said theyd let Kevin know of the issue. Monday I called Kevin. I was told that drive time is charged (including between the pickup location and delivery location), basically to lump it, then offered a 1/4 hour credit. This is the heart of the issue: He knew where the pickup was, and where the delivery was. So, it was 45 minutes from their shop to the pickup, 25 minutes from pickup to the delivery address, and 45 minutes back to their shop. See the issue? That totals 1 hour 55 minutes. So the quote of 2 to 2 hours 15 minutes left FIVE TO TWENTY MINUTES to both load and unload. The guys were good, but not supermen. So one of two things happened. Either it was a genuine error and Kevin didnt own it, and tried to weasel out, OR, it was intentional to get / milk the job. Ill let you decide. Either way, be aware. Epilogue: I got angry and told Kevin to do whatever they were going to do. I got a VM from Seth a little later, but waited to cool down. Before I called him back, they charged my account. They had credited my invoice a 1/2 hour. So the move ended up costing 25% more then quoted, about what the other people I called quoted me up front. [I see its now a misunderstanding - everything in my post is either accurate or what they told me.]

This was our first time hiring movers. We were moving from a 3rd floor apartment and wanted to leave moving everything down two flights of stairs to the pros. That is exactly what the movers from Blue Men were. They bill you hourly and the movers knew that. I dont think I saw them stop once or make a trip down empty handed once. They were careful with everything and if someone was marked fragile they would ask about it and then set it aside to make certain it was not damaged. No one can enjoy moving boxes and furniture down three floors, but the three guys we had did the whole process with a smile. They were polite, professional and respectful the whole time. They could have been three friends we asked to help us move because they were s enjoyable to work with. I would recommend them to any one that is moving. I had never heard of them prior to this move and our realtor recommended them. I had originally emailed and left messages for two bigger moving companies in the area and got no response from them. The same day I sent in my quote request with Blue Men I had a call later that day to go over all the details. Three days before the move we realized that we should probably have three movers instead of two. I emailed them and got a response right away about our request and that they would send the extra man. I cannot give high enough praise for Blue Men Moving and the work they did for us. I will be using them again in the future if the need arises.

This company is unquestionably the best moving company I have moved with! In 10 years, I have moved 5 times, and if I ever move again (I hope not since I finally bought a place!) I would call them first. Before I called them, I helped my friend with cancer, who moved home to be near family. They were patient & professional. They kept their cool in spite of the chaos of friends doing things for her at the last minute. All pieces were handled carefully & the move was completed very efficiently. She moved 2 hours away. My move was about 3 weeks later & only required going 2 miles. I did most of the "small" stuff & asked them to take the furniture, art and largest boxes. On the day they came I still had a lot of unpacked "stuff" around. THEY LISTENED carefully to which items I wanted them to take on the truck. Everything was done professionally, carefully, and they were FRIENDLY. This crew of 3 was exceptional to work with! Unloading was equally well managed. I told the chief of the crew that I had never worked with movers who listened so carefully to what I asked. Other times movers stacked boxes haphazardly in the garage with lighter boxes below heavy boxes resulting in crushing of the lower boxes. They also payed attention to placing items where I requested & even repositioned pieces if I asked. Thank you, Blue Men Movers, for being so wonderful to work with...

Outstanding job!!!! The gentleman that did the estimate was kind and courteous. The price was excellent in comparison to the other two quotes I had received. When the gentlemen came it was very important to me that I was comfortable with them around all my kids, and they were very kind and professional. They asked mid-day if they could add an extra truck and a few other men and they finished in 8 hours. They only charged me exactly the time each of the gentlemen were there. The owner was there later in the day and he worked as hard as all the rest, what a great example. I actually didnt know he was the owner until I was complementing them at the end of the day. At the end of the move, they asked me if anything needed to be moved to a different room, I was so impressed and honestly in awe that after an eight hour workday moving everything they cared enough to ask that! I have recommended them now to at least 3 other families for everything from college dorm moves to whole house moves and they all say the same thing. In the past I have used another moving company, and Blue Men Moving surpassed them by far in price, service, care and professionalism! Bravo Gentlemen!!! I hope to never move again, but if we do we will call on you!

We lived in our house for over 20 years and we had so much to move to our new townhouse that we were overwhelmed. We got a very fast and easy estimate from Seth for our move and it was accurate with no hidden costs. The day of the move, everything went so well it was hard to believe! The crew was headed by Dewey and they were quick, careful, courteous and professional. We did not have one broken item and we moved 3 1/2 hours away! They carefully wrapped and packed any sensitive items. We also had a storage unit to unload some items into ~as well as moving in to the townhouse. The crew made sure to pack accordingly so that the correct items ended up in storage. The crew put beds together in our townhouse and made sure all of the heavy lifting was complete before they left. They did an excellent job and we would highly recommend them to anyone moving! Kevin and Lori Duke
