To start, the restaurant has a Huge pig on the the sign out front. Thats a good start. My experience at the restaurant was pleasant. Its a lil bit of the south right here in Northeast Ohio. The women upfront greeted their guests and treated them like friends. In fact, the cashier even asked if Id like to check and see if my order was correct before I left. The restaurant is fairly modern. The menu is displayed on a massive flat panel TV over the counter. The cashier uses and iPad as a register. Just to her right, is a large window that allows you to see the faces of the kitchen staff as they prepare your meal. You can tell that the management is detail oriented. From the design to the cleanliness of the restaurant. Im very impressed. My first impression of the food has mixed reviews. Im told that the Shrimp Po Boy is delicious and the Pulled Chicken sandwich is good too. The Pulled pork sandwich could use some work. It was tough and the bun was pretty soggy. Id be willing to try it again though. The BBQ sauce is sweet and tangy, just the way I like it. Be prepared for the JoJos. Theyre hot, and Im not talking warm out of the fryer. I ate two of those suckers and my mouth was on fire for a good 15 minutes. cleared my sinuses right out too. Im sure if I liked them or not as I was so surprised by the heat. The price is right here. The sandwiches are under $4 and the sides are reasonable as well. I look forward to coming back to try a dinner.

I grew up on the West Side of Warren, not even a mile from this place. So, when a Facebook friend posted a recommendation, lets just say I was a little more than skeptical . . . and that is being nice. Great BBQ? In Warren, on Parkman Road? Youre joking right? So, since I no longer live in the area, but was back visiting family, I decided to skip ANOTHER trip to the Hot Dog Shoppe and try it out. Upon entering, my nostrils told me all I needed to know. The smells coming out of the kitchen simply blew me away. I met the owners and found out that the husband is a classically trained chef who went to culinary school in Charleston, SC. And even with all that training, BBQ is his passion, and it shows. I ordered the chopped brisket sandwich and Brunswick stew. Both were as good or better than I have ever had ANYWHERE, and screaming bargains to boot! If you havent tried Cockeye BBQ. You will thank yourself you did!

When we walked in we got a warm welcome from the owner Eric he was very friendly and helpful suggested a good beer to try his wife took are order and was friendly and patient even though they place was busy. The food came and we were happy with the portion size but more then anything the food was great the cheesy potatoes a must try and the potatoe salad. The beef brisket was fanaminal the catfish was delicious and the sauce for the fish i would buy a jar of that and through my tarter sauce at home away. I was so happy with the food and service i went back a second day in a row. Now for my only complaint the sausage was actualy a spicy kielbasa and it was good quality but i personally like regular sausages better so i wish it was marked as such and i would have ordered something else there are plenty of good options.

Everything is always great. They must design and grow the staff in labs... There is no place in Trumbull county that has friendly and fast servers 100% of the time. And they manage it. Its almost creepy how warm, helpful and friendly everyone here is. The place is bright and clean. And the food... Sandwiches you need three hands or a knife and fork to eat. Brisket is always on point. The turkey, which I hope stays on the menu past the holidays, is perfectly cooked. Prices might be a tad high for the area BUT are low in terms of BBQ joints overall.... Mike Symon is charging 40% more per similar menu item an hours drive away... But regardless, youre paying for quality and they deliver it every time with every dish.

Visited Cockeye BBQ while visiting from Tennessee. By far the worst BBQ Ive ever had. I ordered the brisket which was tender enough, but no delicious smoked flavor. All of the sauces tasted almost exactly the same and were all overly sweet. I ordered the fried green tomatoes as a side...horrible. the tomatoes were red, not green. The breading was soggy, not at all crispy. Overall I felt like service was average. Its mostly help yourself past ordering. I asked an employee for some ranch. It wasnt brought out until after I had finished my meal. My husband and I agreed that we would not be back, but will definitely be treating our Ohio family to some good BBQ the next time they visit TN.

I do ALOT of dining out, including high end white table cloth, greasy spoons and everything in between. This is by far the best BBQ I have had in Ohio(better then Elis, blazing bills etc) local family owned and will even do business deliverys if you have enough people(call ahead for that I work at the Lordstown plant and we have gotten them to come out twice, and had to have family or friends pick it up twice but always a nice option) They have amazing sides, corn cassarole, Mac and cheese, hush puppies, etc.. I would recommend giving them a shot you wont regret it!!

refused service. cursed at by counter man. insulted and humiliated in front of dozens of customers. I never cursed or raised my voice.had food snatched out of my hands. informed I didnt know how to behave?? complete psychotic breakdown by counter man. unbelievable!!! I have no explanation for any of this. just a complete psychotic breakdown by guy at the counter claiming to be the owner of the place. Order was phoned in .told to "Get the FU#% out " no reasoning for his behavior..

Phenomenal!! I walked in the door and knew. I was getting actual brisket. Pulled pork. And BARK!! I have literally nothing negative to say about this place. Proposal.. please find a new home. A home that can accommodate an actual sit down eatery. If these guys had more square footage?!?!? They would make money hand over fist. Taking BBQ home to trash a kitchen and a living room?? Ill pass. Either way. Great food. Great service

Ive been waiting for a quality BBQ restaurant to come to our area, and it has finally arrived!! Their online ordering is super convenient and works perfect every time. Their house sauce is great, and all the meat is cooked to perfection. Cockeye also shines with their side dishes and unique beer selections. The corn casserole is a must, and the hush-puppies are amazing too. If you havent tried Cockeye BBQ yet, you need to!

Ate at Cockeyes again tonight. As always I was welcomed by both owners, promptly served even though it was packed. They really make their patrons feel like family. Both of us adults had the messplate...and my son had the pulled pork sandwich w/cheesy potatos and Mac. As always it was fast, amazing and I left with lunch tomorrow. I cannot recommend this place more...they are truly the Pride of the West Side.
