I went in with an old ombre that I just didnt want anymore I wanted to be completely blonde again so I explained to her that I wanted to get rid of all of my brown on top and then lighten up the blonde. She went in with a foil without making my brown hair match the rest of my hair and then when I got to see it I looked like a skunk with random pieces of brown hair around my grow out with spaced out streaks of blonde however the bottom part of my hair that was already blonde looked good. I cried when I saw it. It was that bad! So I explained to her again that usually people will dye my grow out to match my blonde before they go in with highlights and she said she would just foil it again but there would still be dark brown. I told her again I didnt want any dark brown in my hair. So she bleached my whole head and then showed me right before she washed it. When I saw it yes it was a lot blonder but very orangey around the top of my head so I asked her if she would use a toner as all my other hair dressers have before and she explained that I didnt need one. Well now my hair is dry and the whole top of my head is orange and the bottom is a yellowish platinum. I really hope purple shampoo can help fix this mess.

I went in for a haircut and highlights. The owner, Zoraida, rushed me through the process and I have to wonder if she even listened to what I asked for. She started chopping on my hair and within minutes I had a pile of hair on the floor that would be sorely missed. I told her what I wanted for highlights and I walked away with dark purple streaks in my hair. For several days I tried to avoid the light so people could not see them. After a week I called to get them fixed. Zoraida told me she would charge me again if she had to fix the problem. I told her NO, I would not pay for her to fix her mistake and she reluctantly agreed. This time I brought in pictures of the style of highlights and color that I wanted. We discussed the color and I showed her exactly what I wanted. When she was done re-highlighting, it was not even close to what I asked for. I showed her the color next to my hair and she told me it would lighten up in time and I should not worry about it. I did not press the issue as I already received the wrong haircut, two bad highlighting jobs, and poor service. Now I have highlights you can not see, a mediocre haircut, and I am out $160. Never in my 35 years have I had such a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!

I went in for a hair cut a week ago, and I have never been so disappointed. Zoraida was my "stylist". I asked for 10 inches to be cut off, as I was donating my hair. She showed me where 10 inches was, I said perfect, and she ended up tying it and cutting off 16 inches. I showed her a picture at the beginning of the appointment of what I wanted, hoping to get something that looked relatively close to that. The cut I got was not only inches too short, but looked nothing like the picture I brought in. I was horrified when I saw what she did to my hair. I have no problem paying $55 for a hair cut, if it is quality and the stylist spends an hour doing the work (shampoo, cut, and style). Zoraida started my appointment 5 minutes late, and promptly ended it 5 minutes early. That means I spent that much money on a 20 minute appointment that included a quick shampoo, awful cut, and a blow dry- not style. I am easy-going when it comes to my hair, I understand that it grows, but I have never been so mortified when I walked out of a "salon". Needless to say, I will never be going back, and I will warn everybody not to go.

I called for an appointment today advising I would like one between 11a and 1p. The lady on the phone said she had an 11a and a 1230p. I said oh the 12:30p is perfect, she took my name and phone # then booked the appointment. 10 mins later she calls back stating if they could see me at 2:30p as the hair stylist wanted more time to do a consult as he/she had an appointment at 1p. I have a birthday event to go to, and that was not my original request. So I told her I couldnt and asked to keep my appointment I dont need a consult. Or I will just go to Great Clips or another salon that can give me a hair cut within 30 minutes! She said sorry we do not have any openings then. Well sorry I wont ever come to your salon then because this is how you take care of first time clients! Instead I called Dosha Salon. I dont see why anyone needs more than 30 minutes to cut someones hair for the first time. That or it was the persons lunch break and the receptionist messed up. Get better employers that know how to schedule an appointment and then maybe Ill consider your salon.

Made an appointment here on a wim because I moved from the east side of town to the west side and my normal stylist is not very convinient anymore and I work really close to Avenue so I made a same day appointment and all I can say is I scheduled my next appointment without hesitation before I left. I will definitely be returning. I went in with very brassy, copper colored box dyed hair that I wanted very light blonde, I was told by my stylist Zorida (also the owner) it would take a few visits to get it where I really wanted it, that of course worried me a little because Im a very "when I want something, I want something now" type of person so I was worried it wasnt going to be blonde enough.. long story short it turned out beautiful, the blonde is exactly what I imagine, my hair doesnt feel dry or damaged, it actually looks extremely healthy. Zoridas 30 years of experience definitley proved itself. The customer service is great, and the salon itself is very pretty. I left extremely satisfied. Highly recommend.

OH MY GOD SO AWFUL. I have been extremely stressed out so I decided to treat myself to a spa pedicure and manicure. The pedicure was nice but nothing like the spa pedicures I have had at other salons. Then the manicure.. I have gotten a significant amount of manicures in my life and no one has ever been SO rough on my cuticles. It has never hurt like it did from this manicure. THEN THE WORST PART she (the owner) CLIPPED OFF a piece of my skin and it started GUSHING BLOOD. After she tried to ignore it with some gauze and failed to make it stop bleeding with useless liquid band-aid I told her I did not want a manicure anymore. She blamed it on the fact "my hands were dry." THEN she charged me the full price for the pedicure but told me she was giving me $10 off.. I should have known to never come back after she gave me the worst most tacky looking highlights of my life. This better now get infected. DO NOT GO TO AVENUE SALON SPA! But if you are in the area go to Avas Roasteria, it is the best :)
