Project: Master Bathroom Remodel Overall Grade: Outstanding From project start to finish, Kevins team was professional. While your home does become a construction site, his team does take great care in protecting your home from any damage and conducts a daily clean up. Also, in my experience, there were other issues that cropped up unexpectedly and he and his team worked to resolve them without any additional charge. That is an important discriminator from any other contractor in my experience. Further, when design changes you think would improve the end result, Kevin was very willing to work with me so that the change did not affect the agreed to price. When an idea was not practical or it was a great idea that affected the price, he was frank about the impact. The point is that Kevin was very willing to have close frequent communication and make changes as needed so that the end result was what I wanted and could afford. Work Quality/End Result: Absolutely beyond my expectations! The remodel team of Shannon Contracting is professional with many years of experience. In many ways these guys are artisans. It is just that good! Because this was a master bathroom remodel, I got to see the progress each day. I couldnt help but see what they were doing every day. That means you get to see the amount of work that goes into a shower construction or floor tiling job and what is underneath the finishes. In the end I was confident this remodel was of great quality and that not only was I going to be happy with the redesign but also confident that a few years down the way, I wouldnt have to worry about the water tightness of the shower/flooring and the electrical changes would be safe and last. Finally, at the end, they cleaned up the house and my garage and left it in better condition than it started out. I mean these guys completely cleaned up the garage which was a staging area for hardware, tile cutting station, grout mixing area, etc. It was a mess during the remodel timeframe but straightened up each day as much as possible. Also, the guys vacuumed the place along where they had foot traffic on their hands and knees...I was not expecting that level of attention to detail and care for my home. Conclusion: If you are looking for an outstanding experience for a remodel that will leave you both satisfied and worry free at the end, these guys should be at the top of your list. I would absolutely recommend the Shannon Contracting company for any remodel project you may have. They will certainly be the first ones I contact for any future projects!

Quality Work Terrible Customer Service - Id like to first emphasize that the end result of the work done on our house was actually quite good and we are satisfied with the siding work performed but the customer service was terrible which is why I am giving this review. I wish I would have listened to my gut instinct prior to the work being started (not returning phone calls, not willing to itemize his high bid proposal, forgetting appointments, starting work without a signed contract or our consent/date to start work, etc) but despite the apparent red flags, his good reviews on Service Magic persuaded us to give him the benefit of the doubt. Due to concerns on how they handled the asbestos siding on our house (panels and broken pieces all around our lawn, porch and deck), I called Kevin and also called DEQ to get information on what the standard procedure was in dealing with asbestos siding. First, DEQ verified that Kevin is not a licensed asbestos contractor and on DEQs own accord; they did a site visit and verified that he was not following protocol. I was not trying to get Kevin in "trouble" but I received a very nasty phone call from Kevin Shannon upset that I got DEQ involved and demanded I pay an extra $2000 to properly dispose of the siding to DEQ standards and that I also pay him in full for the job that afternoon. I did not agree to either demands and Kevin became aggressive and condescending. (BTW: DEQ verified it would not cost more than a couple hundred extra to properly dispose of the asbestos siding). Appalled at his reaction and verbiage, I told him I was uncomfortable with how he was speaking to me and he hung up on me. I tried calling him back but he did not answer. When we came home that night, the job appeared abandoned - we received no phone call that the job was either delayed or abandoned and we assumed he quit. A few days later, (and to our surprise) they came back and finished the job while we were at work. Afterwards, Kevin called (and to his credit, he was very apologetic and cordial to my spouse) explaining the job was finished and he was ready to get paid. I am still very disappointed in the lack of professionalism offered by Kevin. Even though they performed quality work and even though he apologized for losing his cool after the fact, I feel that sorry doesnt make up for how I was treated which unfortunately reflects bad on his character and customer service.

Over the past five years, Shannon Contracting has been the primary contractor on several projects including: 1. Major renovation on 61 apartment units in Tigard including siding, windows, paint, remodeling of spaces, swimming pool overhaul with new pump house, parking lot and clean water drainage 2. Re-roofing and deck upgrades on large project in Milwaukie 3. Complete remodel, reconfiguration and update on a high-value condo 4. Major rehab on a 28-unit + 13-unit project in Milwaukie 5. Upgrades and remodeling in my own home The total costs of these projects were in excess of $3.5M. I have other jobs projected over the next 2 to 3 years. Their work has been very good, but, more importantly, they actually spend a great deal of time and energy with me to make sure that all of the important design and cost issues are properly considered.

We are very pleased with the work done by Kevin and his crew. They spent a lot of time on the details of the project we were undertaking (roof, deck and deck cover). Because of the age and style of our home, they had to modify the plans for the deck cover as they began the work and with the modifications made, it turned out fantastic We did learn one thing, however. As beautiful as the twin wall panels are for the top of a deck cover, they make for a very hot deck when the sun hits them for several hours. Make sure that you have a shaded yard or trees in the area of the cover. We have taken down all of our trees so we have no shade. We are also very pleased with the roof and beautiful deck.

I LOVE my new space! Shannon Contracting renovated the basement of my 1923 bungalow, adding a bathroom, finishing the bedroom space, installing an egress, and providing more structural support to the overhead floor joists. Kevin and his crew were professional and efficient throughout the whole project. Kevin was available whenever I had questions, and he kept me updated regularly on the work that had been done and what was upcoming. Kevin welcomed my input into the design process, and because he understood the aesthetic I was trying to create, he designed a space that I want to be in every day. His enthusiasm throughout made the whole project enjoyable, and I would definitely hire him again.
