Bathroom remodel highlights: cost, trust, quality of work, friendliness and flexibility. He was great! The grout and tile work looks amazing and we have gotten the most compliments on that part of our remodel. The finished product of our whole bathroom was really done well and we ended up very pleased. The floor is perfect, the vanity looks great, and all the floor boards and seals are excellent. He was friendly and flexible working around our kids and crazy schedules. He addressed my concerns right away. He was easy to get ahold of and even easier to talk to about what we wanted in our remodel. I also really appreciated that he made the small decisions on his own without asking us every little question, but also included us if he wasnt sure what wed like best. It was a really nice balance. The were some areas that could be improved upon from our perspective. We were a bit disappointed when the job was not finished when we were initially expecting, but we understand there were things out of his control. Keeping us in the loop a bit more would have made us feel better about the delays, however, he was apologetic and came to finish as soon as he could. All that said, we really were pleased with the finished product. We chose to work with Thayer Construction because when he came for the estimate, we liked his confidence, friendliness, and because the estimate was one of the lowest. The estimate was very close to the final cost, which was another great area. We were very pleased with what he charged (and didnt charge us for). There is always a concern of being cheated and never really knowing if we are paying a fair price, but we had no such concerns with Thayer Construction. Read less

Jared and his team just did a wonderful job on our basement remodel and we are so grateful. This remodel followed a pipe break in December that was very financially and emotionally debilitating for us. All we wanted was to have the help of a professional who could ease the stress and make us feel cared for, calmed, and in control to the extent needed without the burden of micro management. Jared was perfect. The communication was top notch- he took the time to educate us as he went and listened to all of our needs and concerns. The suggestions he made were intelligent, in budget, and made the finished product so much better. All construction has setbacks, its part of the process, but Jared and Joe were so on top of every detail that the small things that did come up were dealt with easily, succinctly, and quickly. We never fell behind nor did we see huge change orders rolling in. We are so impressed with Jareds craftsmanship and professionalism and recommend him for any size project. He is worth every penny.

Thayer Construction recently completed a basement “refresh” for me and I was very pleased with the results. Both Jared and his partner/wife were very responsive to phone, email, text and my many questions. I was really impressed with Jared’s flexibility. Due to some circumstances outside my control, the project had to be started, stopped and then started again. Jared handled the changes with much grace and good humor. One of the most delightful aspects of working with Jared was the creativity and artistry he contributed to the design of the project. What I proposed was a fairly standard (read: bland) basement project. Jared suggested some design changes that really made the space not only functional, but special and unique as well. The team who came to my house were all talented professionals who, as a added bonus, left a clean, orderly work area at the end of the day. I would recommend Thayer Construction without reservation and should any remodeling or construction needs arise, would happily work with them again.

Thayer Construction was super helpful getting the house I recently moved to ready to live in. Jared completed a number of projects on my house, including painting, stabilizing loose stairs, installing new faucets and towel bars,making and installing a missing screen, sealing a hole in the outside wall,putting in missing closet doors,and more. As a bonus, he even picked up and assembled a new office chair from a nearby store as well as shelving for the garage. Jared has a range of excellent construction skills, and will consult with other experts on tricky repairs to make sure its done right the first time. His charges are also reasonable and he is definitely reliable.

Jared responds promptly and gives fair and accurate estimates. He and his crew showed up on time, completed work reasonably, cleaned up well all the while being conscientious of the environment around them (quiet [no yelling or swearing], respectful, no smoking on premises, all the things you think would be normal--but arent). The completed work was top notch and actually came in under the estimate. He is well plugged into the community and offers solid recommendations. I will not hesitate to ring Jared again next time we have a project!

The fremodel included taking down some walls, building a clad support structure and handling plumbing and electrical issues related to the wall-removal.
