OMG ... is this service terrible! Why anyone would opt for FedEx when theres UPS ... and EVEN the USPS ... is beyond me. First, Im not talking about this particular Service Center. If you read the review for ANY Service Center around the U.S., its all the same. Its obvious that, once the package arrives at the destination city, all their systems and processes break down. Is it because from there its all Independent Contractors? Second, its extraordinarily difficult to talk to a real person who knows anything; youre forced to call the toll-free main number; there you get to speak with a person [at a remote Call Center in far away lands] with poor verbal skills. And then they tell you theres nothing they can do but forward the issue into the netherworld. Third, the driver who actually brings the package to your house ... wow. Mine couldnt read the note on the door the first day; couldnt read what Id written on the Door Tag he left when he came back the second day; he actually stuck a NEW Door Tag atop the old Door Tag [the one that instructed him to leave the package]. Fourth, it took me six hours on the phone to over a dozen FedEx "employees" before I got to speak with a "supervisor" ... god bless Irene. From her remote location, she was able to contact the depot [you cant get their phone number because FedEx doesnt want you calling them], who, in turn, contacted the illiterate driver, and Irene had him return to the house [four hours later] and drop off the package he hadnt dropped off twice earlier; she stayed on the drivers back all afternoon and even called to let me know the driver would be returning closer to 7pm than 5pm because hed screwed up again]. Again, because the driver couldnt read, he left the package at the front door and not the back; fortunately, I arrived home 20 minutes afterwards and retrieved the package before it could be stolen. [Since these drivers are Independent Contractors, I wonder if FedEx gives them drug tests? If not, they should.] Fifth, as "insurance", my daughter have driven 40 miles to the depot to make inquiries and retrieve the package in the event it was there. Surprisingly, she was told IT WAS there and she was waiting over 30 minutes while they tried to find it when I called to let her know the package had finally been delivered at home ... she could have been there for hours. Summary ... never, ever buy from anyone who ships their merchandise to you by FedEx. Challenge the merchant to ship it to you by UPS or USPS ... and, if they wont, shop elsewhere. FedEx started as a courier service on steroids ... B2B envelopes M-F business hours. When they got greedy and tried to compete with UPS, they botched it ... so badly, they had to buy Kinkos. And we know how bad Kinkos was. Fred Smith ... are you listening? Do you care the company you founded is rotting?

Note: Because of multiple issues with FedEx, I have contacted all internet retailers I shop through to inform them not to allow Fed Ex to handle any of my packages in the future. They all agreed to do so. If you have problems with this company, I would recommend doing the same. All you need to do is contact the customer service of the people shipping the product. Update 2: Not only did they find my package that was supposed to be delivered days ago, but the scheduled delivery date moved to next week. Next week when the location it is right now is less than 20 minutes from my house, and they deliver on Saturdays. Its 0530 Saturday, yet they cant make it 20 minutes to be here by the end of the day. It takes them over 12 hours to transport a 3lb package 20 minutes. Negligent, incompetent, outright disrespectful. UPDATE: Another undelivered or miss delivered package. Went from having a specific "before 8pm" delivery time, to nothing. Another few hundred dollars in the care of incompetence. Good thing newegg has a decent customer service. They dont even check the address when delivering. $350 CPU was delivered at the SAME TIME as a aftermarket CPU cooler by the FedEx. The CPU cooler was delivered to me, by hand, after they knocked. The $350 CPU with the same delivery address was delivered to my neighbor at the same time, and sat outside for 3 hours. Ive been home all day. They literally let someone get away with not doing their job. 1.) check address. 2.) deliver to corresponding address. Never had this problem with USPS, or UPS. Absolute garbage service across the board. Oh, and their in house customer service? Absolute joke. Valley Girl answered the phone, and was completely rude. Like I interrupted her job at answering the phone by calling. Incompetent from top to bottom.

Sure, its "Arctic Blast 2008", Christmas week... I purchase a number of gifts online prior to Christmas this year. These packages were either overnighted and scheduled for delivery on December 23rd, or had been in transit for days and were due by the 24th. It is two days after Christmas and my packages have still not been delivered. Ive been tracking them daily, calling local fedex shipment yards (those numbers are not easy to acquire). Everyday I call, the same FedEx Home Delivery yard and they tell me to wait a few more days... "Your package is on a container" "Your package is locked up for security reasons." "Your package is in a trailer." MY PACKAGE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE DELIVERED A WEEK AGO!! It snows in Portland and they act like the world stops. The worst part about it, is Im 15 minutes from the location. I offered to wade through the snow myself and find my package since the fed ex workers are too lazy to come in and do their job. Why give customers tracking numbers and shipping confirmation when it truly means nothing? They tell me now, that since FedEx home delivery only runs tues-sat, I have to wait even longer. I used to think UPS and FedEx were comparable companies. I have learned the hard way just how unreliable FedEx is, and it has cost me many late Christmas presents this year. Do not use Fed Ex, and please, PLEASE do yourself a favor and do NOT use FedEx Home Delivery!!! If you care about your package, do the right thing and ship UPS.

I had express shipping and my package required 21+ signature, I had requested a drop off time after a specific time and I was promised it would be honored. The driver showed up 4 hours before that requested time and i was sent a notification saying it would be delivered the following monday. I had to drive 45 minutes in traffic to pick up my package and i arrived 40 minutes before closing time, and the package was already there ( which i expecting to wait for the truck my package was on till 7 when the facility closes, there clearly would have been enough time to stop back my direction to deliver after I talked with customer service and they said they send the driver a message to stop back by). It would be nice to see management work on communication and prioritization within this fedex facility. People pay more money for faster shipping for a reason, it would be nice to see management and the drivers honor that service. Time for some team building exercises. Ps. By the looks of the other reviews this location has had this problem for a while. Time for corporate to do an audit.
