I saw their website and was interested in attending a class. I had a few questions and wanted to talk with someone at the studio. Good luck trying to reach them by phone as they dont answer at any time of the day. So I figured they are the email type and sent them an email. Forget that too since they didnt answer that either. I finally got an alternate phone number and left a message on that. Three days later I got a call back. I inquired about the class that was happening the next day and told her that I would be attending. So the next day comes along and Im at the studio about ten minutes early to register and get situated. I tried to open the door but it was locked. I look up and theres a tiny notice stating the class has been cancelled without explanation. Pathetic! I just talked to Sarah the day before and she neither told me the class would be cancelled nor did she call me back to inform me it would be cancelled since she knew I was planning on attending. I ended up driving there from Vancouver for nothing. The way these people operate this business is a joke and they really need someone to coordinate their business affairs. They obviously have no clue on how to operate a business.

Two and a half years ago I made a decision to learn how to dance to the music I resonated with from the 20s, 30s and 40s. As I searched the internet looking for lessons the Viscount Studio amongst all dance studios jumped off the screen. Pictures of the studio, teachers, people dancing with smiles on their faces, before I knew it I signed up for my first lesson and I havent stopped since. I was grateful that partners were not required or I would still be sitting at home. The owner and all the teachers are so friendly and welcoming along with being great instructors of their trade. The studio also offers workshops for a quick learn or an opportunity to test the waters of another dance style without committing to a month long class. Oh there are socials! The socials are fun, low cost and a great place to practice what you have learned outside the class, with friendly feedback or help you wouldnt get dancing out socially. The truth of the matter is I could never say enough about this place-can you tell Im hooked? Come dance with me.....

I’ve been taking classes at the Viscount since Jan 2012 and have taken Argentine Tango, Salsa and Swing (Lindy Hop and West Coast) series/classes. All of the instructors offer a warm, welcoming environment and the studio space is great. They offer a wide variety of levels for each type and no experience is required for beginning classes and partners aren’t required either. I took classes here on a whim and now recommended it to all of my friends or family that are interested in learning how to dance. If you’re looking friendly and welcoming atmosphere, this is the place. Dance on!

Its rare to have a dance teacher who is simultaneously fun to learn from, loves to dance, and is a truly excellent teacher. Sarah is all of that and more. Ive danced for over a decade and shes the finest teacher Ive yet had. She has deep knowledge, has mastered multiple dance styles, and shes especially good at making dance easy for the beginner. She took me from ignorant to dancing a passable intermediate salsa in 3 hours. I highly and enthusiastically recommend her.

I love this place! If youre looking for a fun class to do, try this dance studio. The best class is the hip hop class lead by Selena. But all their classes are great. They take their time to show you the moves and work with you to learn them The smaller classes are better for that one on one action, so if youre a slow learner, the salsa classes get pretty large.

You cant ask for anything better for Salsa. Just walk by the window and you will see a room filled with smiles and laughter. Sarah gives not only great direction but feedback as well, something often missing in group classes. So bring in both of your left feet and prepare to have fun.
