As the roofing season is coming up, I wanted to take this time to share our experience with Valley Roofing. We met several times with Valley Roofing, expressing our major concern regarding our open eves, and not wanting nails to come thru that area from the roof. We received multiple assurances that our concerns were valid and would be respected. We were assured that there would be a foreman on the job. As the old roof was removed, the roofing material was pushed down over the edge to the ground, removing the paint from the gutters. New decking was placed and the new roof installation began. There was no one here supervising the mostly non-English speaking crew, and sure enough, the roofing was placed with nails down thru the open eves, splintering the decking, just as we had been concerned about. When someone DID show up, those nails were removed, leaving damage to the new decking. When the roofing job was completed, they came to pick up the check for the remainder of the job. At that point we requested, in writing, a reduction in the bill, due to the damage and our need to do repairs. Our request was met with a "It cant be fixed, so there is no point in giving you a reduction." He took our check and walked away. We repainted the gutters and fixed the splintering as best we could, but he was right, the damage cannot be repaired. Even tho this was in 2014, I am still disgusted each time I look out a window, walk the sidewalks around the house, or hang baskets or bird feeders, and see the damage that they caused. The small nails were removed, but there are still some large nails coming thru, where the new decking was replaced, but not nailed into the trusses. The company touts a guarantee, but doesnt tell you that THEY dont provide it, it comes from the manufacturer. It took months and multiple phone calls to receive it. This company was recommended by a general contractor friend. I dont believe he has used them since. I kept thinking my disappointment would lessen with time, but it has not. If you are considering using Valley Roofing for your new roof, I encourage you to reconsider, especially if your home has open eves. Interesting, you are not allowed to post NO Stars. Why is that? I would have given them none.

My family was shopping around for a roof due to an insurance loss and leaning toward using another company. After working with them dragging their feet for a month, and not giving us any start date, we became very frustrated. Our mortgage insurance had put us in a hotel due to severe roof leaking and we needed a timely roof, not delay after delay. So I called Jon at Valley Roofing and explained to him that after yet another delay from Company X we had fired them. I expressed that we were exhausted from living in a hotel with 3 kids and asked if he could please help. He literally dropped everything, and gave me a quote that was much much less than company X. He rearranged his schedule to start the roof the very next weekend. His crew was so careful, and had our yard cleaned up to the point my disabled little girl could play out there w/o fear of her putting stray roof nails in her mouth. Our entire previous roof had to be removed and they had to begin from scratch with a layer of wood and then add the roof. I cannot tell you how thrilled we are with the results. Jon started on Sunday and finished on Tuesday and we were out of the hotel the next week. Our roof exceeded our expectations and the price was fair. Also after the 65 mph wind storm we had once the roof was complete, I went out and checked to be sure all our shingles were still in place. That is what caused our insurance loss with the old roof. It looks just as it did when they completed the job, unaffected from the high winds. If you are looking for a quality, professional roof and a very kind, honest company, this is the one for you. I will recommend Valley Roofing hands down to anyone looking for a new roof for their home.

This past spring (2016) I discovered I needed a new roof. I did the usual interview of several roofing companies before I settled on Valley Roofing. Im so glad that I did! Jon and his crew were a pleasure to work with. In 2 days they stripped off the old roof on our 1800 foot ranch-style house and my separate work shop and installed new roofing on both. The crew were professional and courteous and kept the work area clean (probably cleaner than when they arrived). They doubled the number of roof vents wed had before (the reason why our old roof died so young). They did the flashing work around the brick chimney for the fireplace (something other companies told me Id have to hire another contractor for). And to make everything uniform, they went so far as to paint all of the plumbing vents and water heater chimney the same color as all of the flashing and roof vents! Id never seen that done before. To top it all off, when the crew noticed that my elderly neighbor had fallen in her yard, the foreman literally jumped from the roof and carried her inside. He then alerted me so I could contact her family (shes fine, by the way). The cost of the project wasnt the lowest, nor was it the highest. However, I believe the "bang for the buck" was the best I could have gotten. I have no reservations at all in recommending Valley Roofing! We have a beautiful new roof that should last for a long, long time!

Jon and his team did an EXCELLENT job! They tore down, replaced an enormous amount of rotted wood, and put a new beautiful roof on my house- all in one day! His crew was very careful not to disturb my flower beds and rose bushes (I have many) and they cleaned up like they were never here. He completely re-did all of my vents, added many new soffit vents, and even cleaned out the old vents that were covered with insulation. My 8-10 year existing roof was not installed correctly (I bought it that way) and I had major ventilation issues that caused my roof to disintegrate. Jon and his crew were helpful in explaining the issues with the ventilation and now not only does my house look amazing, my allergies have magically disappeared, and I know it had to be from the rot and improper ventilation Ive been living with. THANK YOU VALLEY ROOFING!!! I know I made the right choice out of the (10 or so) other companies I contacted. They are local, efficient, caring, and anyone whos used them that Ive talked to has nothing but praise for their work. I got more than my moneys worth AND all my neighbors are jealous :)

Jon and his crew are one of the best hired out service I have paid for. The estimate came in very reasonable and below all others. What I liked about Valley Roofing (Jon) is that he approached my roofing needs by addressing what I needed to have done, how he could satisfy my roofing needs and what he could offer. Many competitors will try to first downplay all other contractors and make you paranoid about choosing anyone else other than them. What I look for is what a company can offer to ME. Valley Roofing made me feel like I was important and a priority to them. They came in and made quick use of their time always addressing any other need I had. I needed some extra work done to my porch covering, and Jon was quick to tackle the dry rot and water damage. He didnt charge me much at all for the extra work, mainly the materials. And of course, the crew was very courteous and cleaned up after themselves very well. I would recommend Valley Roofing to anyone I know. Give them a chance to satisfy your roofing needs. - Brian / Keizer, Oregon
