We had brothers come out to clean the carpets in the house we’d purchased. A few weeks after we’d moved in, I discovered the off-white carpet where I’d spot-cleaned a food spill had dried a brownish-gray. I assumed the color change was from food oils and decided to tackle it again later. Then I spilled coffee on the same off-white carpet (in a different room) and again, my spot-cleaning attempts left a brownish-red mark. Again, I assumed the discoloration was from the spill. A few weeks later I got around to dealing with the spots. Water mixed with grocery-store brand cleaner in hand, I went to work. The brownish-red areas not only didn’t go away, they got bigger and bigger. Concerned that maybe my cleaner was causing the problem, I tried spot-cleaning the carpet with plain water elsewhere in the house and had the same result. Brownish-red spots everywhere. I was horrified. With a photo of the giant brown carpet spot in hand, I went to Brothers Carpet Cleaning to express my extreme dissatisfaction that my newly-cleaned carpet was clearly not clean as it turned brownish-red whenever I tried to spot-clean it. The owner came out to talk to me and agreed to send Scott back to my house the following week to address the problem and re-clean the carpets. Scott diagnosed the problem right away. Although residual soil was a factor in one high-traffic area, the other stains were caused by a reaction between our carpet and the minerals in our well water. He not only removed all the hard water stains I had made throughout my house, he showed me how to properly spot-clean the carpets. I now have a bottle of distilled water and Brothers-brand “Spot Out” carpet cleaner under my sink and am fully trained and prepared to tackle future spills the proper way on my own. Brothers did all of this for no additional charge. I am very grateful not only for the additional cleaning service but also for the time and advice Scott gave me to ensure I don’t make a giant mess of my carpets again. I highly recommend this company and will certainly use their services in the future.
