Beware of Extra Space Storage. I will start with the one positive aspect of this place, Dave the manager. Very friendly and very helpful. That being said... I have been a customer of Extra Space for many years and as a loyal customer I expect very few things in return, a fair price and clean units. I didnt get either. I rented a 5x10 unit @$50 per month. I then received notice after notice informing me of rate increases. My breaking point was when my pre-tax - pre-insurance rate went to $90. For the same unit. Nothing was done to it. No new seals to keep the ridiculous amount of dirt out (more on that in a moment), no lighting, no filtration, nothing was "kept up" to warrant such a ridiculous increase. The company banks on the fact that you have your items there and arent in any hurry to move them out again, thus almost insuring that you will continue to pay the rate increases. I think that is very poor business practice and feel quite angry about it. THEY WILL DO THE SAME TO YOU! Now, on to what I feel is an even bigger issue, the condition of the units. They are not run down our infested but they are filthy. You CAN NOT KEEP THEM CLEAN! The whole point of having a storage unit is to keep your items clean, dry and safe. I see the other reviews on here talking about how clean the units are. These must be new customers unaware of what is going to happen inside their unit very soon. They become covered with a layer of nasty black dirt and it is thick. I am not exaggerating this statement, if I could post a pic with this review I would. It is disgusting. The facility is in the middle of an industrial park and its property borders a........ Waste Management Landfill. Think about that for a second. Yeah, pretty gross. I had complained to the previous manager about this before and he said he couldnt do anything about it. Eventually, because I wouldnt drop it, Corporate was told to offer me a free months rent "to cover cleaning costs" and offered to switch my unit. I thought maybe it was just my particular unit but it wasnt. I have had to clean my unit out and EVERYTHING in it multiple times now. Again, I am not exaggerating the amount of dirt that builds up in such a short amount of time. It is disgusting, especially when you start to realize where that dusty mix is coming from. I tried some things to attempt to keep the dirt out of there as well and nothing made a bit of difference. I contacted Corporate about the constant rate increases and got a canned response something to the effect of, "To better serve our valued customers we find it necessary to occasionally increase rates to provide a blah, blah, blah, blah." That was the straw that broke the camels back. I see no improvements made. I do not recommend using this place. If you read this, dont say you havent been warned.

Just rented through Extra Space Storage. David was very professional throughout the whole process from the first time I walked in asking questions to following up with me when I told him I would be ready to rent. The lease process couldnt have been easier. David walked me through everything, from setting up my lock to making sure my code worked, to explaining the lease details, etc. He was very thorough. One of the most professional people you will deal with. You feel as though you are dealing with the owner. That is every business owners dream to have someone like that.

When Signing up for unit I was asked if I have insurance that covered offsite storage. I stated I thought I did and was told they would add it and to call to have it removed. So I called insurance and spent 45 minutes waiting to get through and get answers. I called to let them know I had it and then I was told they couldnt remove the charge without paper work. Now I have to call insurance, get them to send something etc. I am a mother of 5 with full time job and dont have time for all the aggravation. They charge 24.95 a month for 5000 coverage.

We had such a nice experience with Extra Space Storage in Connecticut that we decided to use them again in PA. The office personal are friendly, helpful (funny) and made my contract work super easy. The office is also open until 5 on Saturdays which saved us a tremendous amount of hassle during our relocation. I would definitely recommend and reuse.

The the storage containers are very clean and well taken care of the people that work there were courteous and very polite to me the rates are very cheap when compared to any other storage in place in the area theyve come out on top I would recommend this place to anyone and I definitely would use them again if I needed to

Checked in over the weekend. David was extremely helpful with all of the paperwork that needed to be done in a professional and timely matter. The space that we rented was spotless along with the entire area. I recommend using Extra Space if you are in the area.

We stored our furniture for 2.5 years. Our things were safe but they would raise our rates every 3 to 6 months. Outrageous pricing for storage. The longer your there the more you pay. Beware!! $!
