I contacted Abel to see if I could get a position closer to home. I was told by a friend about a company they hired for named Magellan and suggested it. That company was terrible. They treated their employees like they were disposable. There was constant conflict between supervisors over how things were supposed to be done. A woman who was training the supervisor on something was even making fun of her because she had no idea what she was doing. I had to be on top of the errors they gave me because they were giving me other peoples errors and a computer error gave me 33 errors which they insisted I take a portion of despite my taking the correct steps of the process and it obviously being a computer error. I had good attendance and I worked hard. I was pleasant with my coworkers as well despite offensive conversations held in the office, including racist conversations and sexually innapropriate conversations. I never involved myself in talk or issues. Abel did not care if I have a family to support. Workplace politics which I had nothing to do with costed me my job and put me into a terrible situation where I was unable to eat in order to pay my bills and I had to send my kids out of state. I worked hard, got back onto my feet anday and got another job. Actually, 2 jobs that Im happy at. To add insult to injury, they would not give me a clear answer on my belongings. I had to call several times. I explained that I was very busy and would come and get my stuff when my schedule relaxed. A little over a month later they threw away my stuff without calling me and letting me know first. I had no missed calls from them and no messages yet she lied and said she called me several times. This company treats people like theyre nothing. A persons job is their livelihood and a good worker should never be treated the way I saw people at Magellan treated. Like theyre disposable.

This comment is specifically for A+ Teachers, which is an extremely disorganized division of Abel Personnel. In the beginning of my employment, I was asked three times for my TB test results when I had given them to the HR rep the first time she asked for them. I gave them a months notice that I would be on vacation for a week and that I should not be contacted to substitute that week. They called me while I was on vacation to see if I could sub. I was sent an e-mail asking for a signed form that would allow me to continue as a substitute for them. I mailed a signed copy to them the same day I received it. I was then told that they never received it and that a scanned copy would be fine. So I sent a scanned copy, and I got another e-mail telling me that the scanned copy wont work-- that they need an actual paper copy. Save yourself the trouble and work for an agency that is organized and actually knows what they want from their employees and how to treat them.

I applied at Abel after losing a long term job unexpectedly. I had never used an employment agency before and must admit I was skeptical. The ladies I dealt with were all very nice and I was employed within one week, despite my unusual scheduling needs. I completed that assignment after almost a year and Abel immediately went to work to place me in a new position. I ended up only being out of work for a few days and didnt even miss a pay cycle. As long as you are dependable and have a good work history, Abel will work hard to find you a position that meets your needs and skill level. Over the last couple years I have personally interacted with many members of their staff and found them all to be very pleasant and helpful.

I had a completely flawless experience with Abel Personnel. I went on a couple interviews that they set up for me, and turned down a few I was not interested in. (That already should say a lot about their flexibility and willingness to work with their recruits!) They eventually found me my dream job, and the initial months of my contract passed smoothly. I was concerned that the paperwork and process would be a burden to my new employer and might outshine my work ethic, but that was definitely not the case. I had passed my resume on to a few online recruitment services, to no avail. I would definitely recommend Abel to any of my jobseeking friends or family.

From the 1st day that I walked into the door of Abel Personnel, I felt welcomed. Two and half years later, I still feel welcome. Abel Personnel takes out the time to look beyond your resume. When you are interviewed by one of their professional recruiters, you walk away knowing that every effort will be made to match you up with the right job. Not every job is for everybody, so it is important to make the right assessment so that Abel can better serve its clients: the employer and the applicant. Even if you are not looking for employment, but know of someone who is, refer them to Abel Personnel. I did and my friend is very happy with her job!

This agency is a scam, I worked here for 1 assignment got paid for 64/80 hours and then called back to see when I would be paid for the remainder of my worked time to which I was informed it would come within 10 days of the termination date or the next pay date. here it is the next pay date and now i dont have any check for the rest of my money. This place is really shady and not a good place to seek employment, anything is better than this place its a shame. If you would like to be paid FOR ALL OF THE TIME YOU WORK, DONT WORK HERE THEY WILL KEEP YOUR MONEY AND PLAY STUPID.

They are thy worst Staffing Agency ever. I only got placed to 1 assignment which ended within a month because they barely trained you to do the job accurately knowing it was a state contract. The big boss Pat Davis son worked at the same assignment and he pretty was off every other week literally and always played around and is very racist. But since Pat Davis is his mother he pretty much get away with murder. NEVER again... BEWARE!!!! Stay away

The agency was nice enough with plenty of resourceful people. I ended up getting laid off and they did not offer any other jobs in Maryland. I kind of felt like the recruiting staff was not very symapthetic to the people who had been laid off. Based on the fact they currently only offer one job in Maryland and are more rooted in their Harrisburg location I would have to say that I cannot really recommend them in Maryland at this time.

Abel Personnel was my first experience with a temporary agency. I was nervous at first but they were very courteous and welcoming. I have been with the agency for nearly 9 years now and plan on being around for a while! I am very grateful and happy for everything Abel Personnel has done for me. I highly recommend them to anyone who is interested in temporary work!
