I used to like Elan, a lot. On my last visit I was in, hair washed, trimmed, dried and back in my car in 30 minutes. My hair looked horrible. I have wavy, thick, medium length greying hair which requires product to keep from frizzing, particularly if its dried with a hair dryer. I was asked when I sat if I wanted the head massage, apparently Liz didnt care to do it, not a big deal. After washing she proceeded to tell me that she doesnt like long grey hair. Gee, apparently she doesnt want my business. Aside from being blatantly rude, when she finished I looked awful. I could have had her add product, I did pay for an hour of time, but with her attitude I felt leaving was best. This should have been a simple trim, my ends looked worse than when I walked in, wavy hair is apparently not something she knows how to deal with. Unfortunate experience.

I want to Elán to do something very drastic with my hair, going from very light blonde to a deep chocolate color. The ladies at the front desk were very sweet, and made me feel comfortable as soon as I arrived. My stylist, Emily, was absolutely wonderful! We went over different options with my hair color and the cut afterwards. She and another stylist, Angie, helped me feel comfortable with the new cut I was getting since I was pretty nervous, having recently received a cut I was extremely unhappy with. I now have chocolate brown hair with lots of dimension that feels healthier than I couldve imagined. Thank you Emily, Angie, and the welcoming staff at Elán for being so patient and caring, and making me feel so comfortable through the experience! Pam

I always enjoy and look forward to my hair appointments at Elan. I am greeted by friendly, smiling and professional staff each visit. I have been seeing Rachel there for at least several years now. I keep coming back to her because she always does a great job on my hair! She takes the time to listen and really wants me to leave happy and feel like I am getting what I am paying for. But hair aside, no matter what kind of mood I walk in there with, I always leave feeling uplifted and beautiful inside and out. Also, the atmosphere is clean and calming and I love the Aveda products that are used. (Especially the smell!!) Thanks Rachel and Elan!

Bad service, less than desirable skill set, and the owner is completely unaware of what it means to be in the service industry. I have had two bad haircuts here (I know-I should not have gone back for the second one) and just today, when the front desk failed to schedule my appointment for the correct service, they refused to give it it to me, and told me they did not have the time to accommodate my request. This would lead you to believe the stylist had a following appointment, but no...they just wanted to go home. This would be OK, if I were requesting something new or different, but I get the exact same hair service every time.

I cant account for any of the negative reviews of this salon, because I saw Amanda, and she was GREAT! Im currently living with the best cut Ive had in years. Amanda instantly put me at ease. I wasnt watching her cut and being nervous because I was afraid she didnt get what I wanted. We had about a 5 minute consult, she got it and went to work. I also loved that this salon did not pressure me to reschedule. They certainly offered it, but did not push it on me. I hate it when salons do this. If a customer is really happy with the work, theyll be back, and in this case, I will be!

I wanted to get some highlights, and never colored my hair. The receptionist was super friendly, and sold me on coming in to do an informal consultation. (She spent 2 phone calls lasting about 10 minutes each, explaining the process of hair highlighting, since I asked!) I told my stylist exactly what I wanted, and she listened. It was a great experience. Every single employee looked excited to be working and passionate about what they do, which speaks volumes about their management!

Worst experiance ever. I have had an appointment the other day and saw everyone sitting around doing nothing. Assistant manager has mixed my color (which I asked for a cool lighter color she mixed up a darker color) She was very rude and unprofessional. I will never go back there again. I was a frequent client for the massages however will be taking my business elsewhere. Such a shame for the hair stylists right out of school. Shame they work under snoody assistant management.

Very happy went in today for a facial with Judy for the first time, she was well oriented and made me feel like a Queen. She understood my concerns and recommended the right product. Even though I went In for A facial I ended up receiving a Scalp Massage, A Neck And Shoulder Message, A Arm Massage And A Leg Massage. I really love my experience I highly recommended.

I have been a client at Elan for over 12 years. I have always been extremely happy with all of the services I receive in both the salon and the spa. The staff are all so friendly and go out of their way to accommodate their customers which is appreciated. I often get compliments on my cut and color by Angie. I cannot recommend Elan enough!

I am glad to see that at least some people get what they pay for here. I definitely did not. My hair was ruined for 3+ months after color and cut. I do not recommend going here unless you have super fine, super thin hair. It seems that they do not know what to do with thick, wavy, ethnic or biracial hair.
