To start, the restaurant was maybe a quarter full on a Monday at 7:30 and we had to wait "just 5 minutes" for a table, which was more like 30. The table was in the corner next to a large group of people and it was so loud we could hardly hear each other or the waiter. The waiter was nice but inexperienced and I would expect more experienced waiters for the price of the restaurant. The service was slow and the food was boring. After we had our appetizer and salad we waited at least 30 or 45 minutes to get our entrees, which were served at luke warm temperature. The special, which was bacon wrapped halibut, was overcooked and dry. My seared sea scallops were oddly flavored and the cauliflower purée was awful and bland. May I add that this is advertised as a Mediterranean restaurant and there is NOTHING on the menu that is Mediterranean. No hummus, lamb, pitas, tzatziki, or even anything seasoned with mint or rosemary! Bacon and corn are never seen in Mediterranean meals and they were all over the menu! Not to mention an entree that had sriracha and crispy wontons. To end the meal, they give you complementary limoncello cordials while you look over the dessert menu. They were so bad I was gagging for 10 minutes after I had a sip! They taste like maalox mixed with lemon drops and a bit of nyquil. We had to flag our waiter down after 10 minutes of waiting just to get our check. We were in the restaurant for 2 and a half hours. That is a ridiculous amount of time, and most of that was spent waiting for service of some kind, not because we wanted to stay there. The restaurant is incredibly noisy and has nothing to dampen the sound so everything echoes off the walls, and makes it hard to hold a conversation. I will never be going back here. It was a huge disappointment and an even bigger waste of time.

Last weekend my husband and I were in Lancaster and decided to try this establishment. Needless to say we both were not impressed. To be fair my husband has been a professional chef for over 20+ years and has worked in an upscale restaurant in Hershey that was fine dining and I myself was a server so we both know what to expect from a fine dining service. This place and experience was a sad disappointment. He had ordered a filet which was over cooked and dry, and the chicken dish I ordered was not cooked enough. The asparagus was very woody and bland, and for the price of the beet salad was extremely small for the $14 price tag. The potatoes au gratin were not up to par either considering I have had better out of a box. The server we had seemed uninterested in being attentive towards her tables and honestly as a server myself I do not expect to see another server playing with her hair and then running food. Also servers should not leave vapor trails of perfume as it detracts from the aromas of the food. I will say that the atmosphere and decor are quite nice, but that does not make up for the unhygienic service and sub par food. If we had done our research first we never would have dined here as this place was flagged for several food violations. My husband is a stickler for food safety. Lesson learned we will not go here again.

We had a very so so meal here last week. In our opinion nothing like the old Gibralter Restaurant. We started out with a martini at the bar. Bartender not very friendly and seemed preoccupied with the wines for the evening. The menuwas very different. I do not remember seeing Italian entrees at the original Gibralter. The fresh pasta was good, but two of the entrees were very weak. The carbonara was nothing like any carbonara I have had in the past. The ravioli were also weak as a main course. Very skimpy and not much flavor. We ordered a special appetizer for the night and since we were having pasta entrees decided to split. Fried green tomatoes supposedly with stilton cheese and arugula. We received 3 thin sliced pan fried green tomatoes with some crumbled bacon and arugula. There was a slight amount of dressing on the plate no sight of the stilton cheese....this $12...way over priced. There were no scallops or calamari on the menu. Overall, I wish the owners well, but this is nothing like the original Gibralter.

My husband and I joyously celebrated his 29th birthday at Gibraltar last night. Hands down the BEST all-around dining experience we have had in a very long time; superb and prompt service, gracious help with the wine list when we werent certain, beautiful ambiance, and truly, truly divine food! After Pellegrino and fresh bread with olive oil for dipping, we started with perfect Caeser salads (his without, mine with anchovies). I then had the scallops & he had the new Korean-inspired king salmon. Both were perfectly cooked, incredible, artistic food presentations -- with huge flavors and perfect palate balance. No room for dessert; fully, fully satisfied. Highly, highly, highly recommended!

My wife and I went here for our anniversary and loved the experience. The shellfish sampler platter was amazing, with an excellent selection all prepared and served nicely: shrimp, mussels, clams, oysters, squid, etc. The selection of entrees was small, but they were for the most part interesting and the ones we had were extremely tasty. We didnt plan to have dessert but Im glad we did, I loved the chocolate mousse cake. The server, Adam, was very attentive and the rest of the staff would come by from time to time to check in us where we sat outside. And they made a nice little extra dessert for our anniversary. Well definitely be going back.

We hear this so often from the "non" foodie group, who typically consider McDonalds to be cuisine. While everyone is entiled to their opinion, look at the history of positive feedback. Statistically proven its said that 17 people will respond to a bad experience and only 1-3 will compliment a good one, youre sadly amongst the minority. Do you know what fresh (not frozen) fish tastes like, you seem to know oh so well what chef boyardee tastes like, ever had a dry pack scallop (not one with tripolyphosphates and bisulfites)? Good luck in your search for a classy restaurant thatll make you happy, or maybe not....:O) Happy eating folks foodies..

I was served bad fish here and spent the rest of the evening being violently ill. Im a lifelong fish eater and sushi fiend and have never reacted in such a way prior to this supremely unpleasant experience. I was already disappointed in both the quality of service and the price of the meal, especially after it quickly became apparent that it was tainted fish at supposedly the nicest seafood restaurant in town. I *strongly* advise others to avoid eating here, unless you want to be ignored by servers and pay ridiculous amounts for a long night spent in the bathroom.

The place was nice, the waiters perfect but I was really disappointed about the food. I ordered a grilled chicken rosemary, something not really complicated to do, the chicken was just enough cooked, the vegetables too few and really cold and I had more croutons (bread) than vegetables in fact and a LOT of vinegar sauce. Impossible to eat that plate. So i didnt . I paid a full price for something I didnt eat. I was happy having diner outside but in fact I am disappointed and sad after that experience. Never again.
