Overall I was disappointed. My regular stylist has just had a baby, so I was due to try somewhere new. I got a Groupon of 40% and figured Id give Luxe a try. My stylist was very nice, but seemed to lack confidence. I was eager to try something new in both cut and color, but she didnt really have any suggestions or helpful tips. I ended up going with the same thing I usually get done, because I didnt really trust she knew what to do. The service was fine, but I was there for nearly four hours. It took a little long in my opinion, but maybe she was just being extra careful. She also needed to add toner to my hair after the color, I think she bleached it out too much by leaving it on too long, but overall it looks good. But- at the end of my service where was I was totally turned off of to Luxe. The girl at the checkout didnt know how to use the Groupon (even though they told me theyve had a lot of them). It was a voucher for the entire service, but she tried to charge me $61. She was taking the amount I had paid ($64) and subtracting it from the total service. When I explained to her that the voucher covered the service, she went to get the owner. The owner look at it, sat down and got out a calculator (a little ridiculous as now there was a line forming behind me?) and finally said "Okay, youre all good- you just need to pay the 20% gratuity." I was confused- it didnt say anything anywhere about a set gratuity amount (Hershey Spa does this, but its posted everywhere so you know) I said "oh, well I just gave her cash" because of course I would tip her 20% - I already had. The manager then asked "oh, how much did you give her?" Surprised, I answered how much cash I had just given her. And she said "oh ok, youre fine." I understand she was trying to look out for her stylist to make sure I didnt jip her, but I thought it was tacky and low class to ask me to annouce to the whole room how much I had just tipped. If youre going to have a set gratiuty policy, fine, it should be included on the bill and stated clearly on your website, and Ill happily pay it at checkout. But the approach the owner took, and the cluelessness of the check out girl, turned me off. For the just so-so service, theres no way Ill be back.

I cant speak highly enough about this great find. We were visiting an Inn nearby, and at the last minute decided we would like a couples massage. I phoned a few places the day before and no luck. Tried Luxe the morning of as my last resort before giving up, and the receptionist was so helpful. She found us a time slot, which required her phoning one of the massage therapists to have her come in a little early, and then called me back to confirm. We got lost on the way and were a little late, which stressed me out. I felt horrible that the therapist was coming in early and we were late, but when we got there, they were so nice. They took us back, didnt rush us, and still gave us the full 60 minutes. I thought for sure wed be cut short since it was our tardiness that caused the late start. I was so grateful. The two massage therapists--Christy and Paige--were awesome. Christy made my sore muscles relax. I have had numerous massages in different places, and she worked several spots that nobody else ever has, and I was totally impressed. My husband spoke highly of his massage with Paige. This was only his second massage, and the first thing he said was "that was soooo much better than the other one. Now I understand why you like massages so much." The facilities were really beautiful. Probably the nicest spa Ive ever been in, and everybody was so warm and friendly. Paige even gave us a great lunch recommendation for a Crepe place nearby, and it turned out to be a brilliant recommendation--loved that place, Paige! If we are ever up in that area again, we will be back for sure.

Ive been here four times: first, to get a salon package including massage, facial, and manicure, second, to get my hair and nails done for prom, third, to get a pedicure, and finally, to get a massage and pedicure. Let me just say, Ive always loved it here, and I adore the staff. The receptionist in the spa wasnt very friendly, but maybe she was just having a bad day. When we come here to spend around $200, however, it angers me that they keep getting my order wrong. When I went for prom I ordered a gel manicure and an up do, but when I got my manicure they gave me an everyday one and the stylist yelled at me saying I was only in for a wash and style, but shed try to do an updo really fast. This last time I went, yesterday to be exact, we ordered a 90 minute deep tissue massage with hot stones, but only got a 60 minute Swedish massage. They never charged me for what I ordered, only what I received, but if theyre that incompetent that they mistake the orders almost as frequently as McDonalds, then Im not sure I should be giving them my money. Furthermore, halfway through my pedicure some manager or owner walked in and asked my stylist what nail polish this order was for. My stylist tried to show her, as it was glittery but there were ten similar to it, and she yelled at her for leaving her client. Then she proceeded to condescend her stylist, which in my opinion was far worse than the stylist ever leaving me. Ill be back to use up my gift card (as it covered the 90 minute massage I wanted), but will probably look somewhere else for now on. What a shame.

I was thoroughly pleased with my experience here and I was excited to have found my new hairstylist in my new city. Having moved here not too long ago I had no idea who to go to but after reading several reviews of different places I knew LUXE would be the one. They did not disappoint. The salon itself is lovely, bright, and has a fun vibe. Its also very clean and professional at the same time. I dont remember the womans name who washed my hair but she friendly and nice to talk with. Then I met my stylist Betsy who I enjoyed so much and cut my hair so well I intend on going back to her again and again. After the cut she styled my hair in a way that I dont have the skill level to and it looked awesome. Loved it. Also, Mandy is amazing at deep tissue massage! She is also personable and knowledgable. I cannot wait to return for another massage from Mandy! In other news, if you you or someone you know is interested in a mens haircut, they do them here and they do them well. Boyfriend got his hair cut while I got a massage yesterday and it looks so good! I also love how they give new customers a goodie bag to bring home with coupons for future visits and a shampoo and conditioner sample. They frequently have deals going on so follow on Facebook to stay up to date. Looking forward to my next visit!
