2.0 star rating 6/22/2017 Eastern Light Getaways is now known as Soul Nation Events from what I gather. We took the DC trip to the new African American Museum. My complaint is not with the trip itself even though the food provided was lousy and our bus was a bit cramped. My real complaint it with our bus driver, Shawn. Our trip started on Saturday, June 17th. We loaded into the bus with no help from our bus driver. Isnt he supposed to help load the bags into the luggage compartment? He did not. Going to Washington the music was loud and he was asked several times to lower the volume. He would lower it only to turn it back up to ear busting decibels minutes later.On the way back $80.00 was collected as a tip for Shawn and do you think he would then attempt to give satisfactory customer service? No such luck. On the ride home he was again asked several times to turn the music down and each time he turned it up louder. This trip was not filled with young folks looking to "turn-up". The patrons on this trip were middle-aged folks with a sprinkling of senior citizens. We were not opposed to listening to music but the volume was just way to loud for such an enclosed space. We spoke to Shawn and the Matron, I think her name is Vanessa. She claims that she spoke to Shawn about the music but obviously it did no good. I think Shawn feels that because he is on the road he can behave in a manner that is unprofessional. Also, because many people dont write letters of complaint he seems to feel that he can behave anyway that he pleases while on the job and there will be no consequences. If you are planning a trip through this company please ask them not to send Shawn as a driver.

The bus was 2 1/2 hours late. I didnt get the memo that our hotel changed from Harrisburg PA to Baltimore MD. They ran out of food before I got to eat. Walked to the Harbor because I dont know what happened to the bus that was supposed to take us. One of the buses went to VA instead of PA so they missed half the concert. Howard Hewitt was a no show. All the rooms had 1 bed regardless of how many in a room. I guess the pull out couch counted as a bed. The dancing was in a small room all carpet about 50 chairs and 2 tables for about 200 or more people. They even served dinner in the same room. The trip was the worst. And dont ask a question. The people representing was partying more than everyone else. It is not worth the money.

The worst experience I have ever had. From 1 hr late to start the trip. Every event had a line of 20 minutes or more. The concert was 2 hours away from the hotel. Then we left late missed the first two acts. (Howard Hewlett and Freddie Jackson). Its day 3 and we are last to go to the casino... The Food was not good not good at all. Made my wife sick..Went to the casino and the hotel locked us out of room... Would have given lest then 1 star but I couldnt write the review.

I just came back from a weekend that will go down as EPIC between my friends. From the time we boarded the bus til the time we came back it was a non-stop party, starting on Friday night where we got to meet other people on the trip to Saturday with the great food, drinks, and concert. We had a blast and are looking forward to the next getaway with ELG.

Bus was a bit late but after that hiccup it was smooth sailing. There were a bunch of events available, shopping, and food. Concert was a lot of fun.
