After seeing my vehicle 3 times in the last year for brakes, Midas instructed me that my muffler had a gaping hole in it, and that it would need to be replaced before inspection. A week later I bought a new muffler from autozone and took it to my regular mechanic, and he told me that my muffler was completely intact, and that midas was essentially full of it and just tying to get more money off of me. I called them to confront them about this and another issue I had with their work, and they danced around the issue completely. The same was true with my shocks/struts, which they told me would need to be replaced for inspection - I took the vehicle for inspection and they said the shocks were perfectly fine. They will never touch my vehicle again, ever. It is painfully obvious that they will tell you things need done when they dont, and that they do anything to rack up your bill. Im wondering now how much other unnecessary work they did, because for a simple warranty brake replacement, I always end up getting a several hundred dollar bill from them. I took my vehicle for inspection less than a month after Midas put on new brakes, rotors, and repacked some bearings, and I was told that the brake lines were corroded to the point where they would not pass inspection. Sure was nice of the "brake people" at midas to not notice that and let me drive around with an unsafe vehicle. TL;DR, these are your average mechanic crooks who dont give a damn about you or your safety, they just want your money. Save your money and go to a real mechanic...

GREAT experiences with the MIDAS TEAM in Penn Hills on Frankstown Road! Specifically asst. manager JEFF! If you need a trusted and good down to earth team this is the place. Jeff and his team have done us right on several different occasions now over the past 4 months. It is nice to finally have a RELIABLE & TRUSTED group of mechanics. Most importantly we DO NOT feel like we are being pressured to SPEND more than needed. It’s the simple things that Jeff and his team do to help – like putting the spare tire away properly and fixing some squeaking on our brakes (without charging us extra) since the car was there for other work anyways. We were loyal Monroeville Midas customers for years when Terry was the manager, but when he moved, the quality of the service quickly declined (a regional manager took over as store manager, and it was very clear that his only goal was to up-sell us, rather than take care of his customers the way he would want to be treated). We recently tried out Cochran GMC Service Center, and were horrified by the diagnosing fee to confirm both headlights were burnt out – in addition to $53 to confirm that was the issue, they wanted $175 PER LIGHT to replace – Midas on Frankstown Road was HALF that cost for the repair! We are so glad that we found Jeff and the Frankstown Road location – we hope that Midas appreciates this team as much as we do!

There are oil change chains & car repair shops on every other corner, but it is definitely worth driving past all the rest to come here to the best! This is one of the cleanest shops I have ever seen from the garage itself to the bright, comfortable waiting room to the bathroom. This Midas location is absolutely immaculate! Its not a hardship if you have to wait on your car here, but you wont be waiting long because they will start working on your car right away and get you out quickly. And when you go to check out, they wont hand you a laundry list of other things that need to be done either. There is absolutely no strong sell here that is typical at many of the chains. There is just a really friendly staff of mechanics you can trust. As a blonde female who knows little about cars, that is a feature I really appreciate and its one of the main reasons I recommended this Midas location to my daughter and others. So, drive by all the rest the next time you need an oil change etc and come here to the best. You wont be disappointed! ~Allison P.S. I forgot to mention that they offer the best oil change prices as well!

Took a day trip to Pittsburgh Zoo last Friday with my family and got a flat tire shortly after we left the zoo. Given I was from out of town, I didnt know where to take my vehicle. However, I needed to get back on the road pretty quickly (it was near 90 degrees out and we still had a few hours of driving ahead of us), so I put on the spare and searched for stations that were nearby. I was reluctant to take my car to a "chain" like Midas but took a chance and was pleasantly surprised. They got me taken care of quickly and quoted me a very fair price (on par with what I would pay at my preferred hometown service station). They had every opportunity to take advantage of me (out of town, Friday afternoon on a holiday weekend, I was in a rush), but didnt. I observed some interactions between the staff and customers and it seems like there are a number of regulars who take their cars there for service. Based on this interaction, I would say they do good, honest work. If I lived locally, I would support this business.

I went here for a state inspection. I had an appointment for 2pm and got in almost 2 hours later. They wanted to fail my inspection for things that other garages have passed in the past. They told me, you have a noise in the upper front axle, but I cant fail you for that... You have some vibration in your brakes, but I cant fail you for that... Its like they were disappointed they couldnt fail me for these things and make money on repairs. These guys are very young and probably inexperienced. I asked them to tell me how much it would cost to fix the main issue for which they wanted to fail my inspection. They said they had to get back to me with part prices and I never heard from them again. I took my car to another garage and it passed without question. This was a huge waste of 3 hours.

Horrible place to take your car to get an alignment. I had all brand new suspension parts on the front of my car. Whomever, did my alignment they loosen my center piece lug nut to the strut. I was wondering why when I go over a bump, the left side would always clunk. Before I took my car there it sound perfectly fine. I then called them... and the manager was very rude to me THEY SAID MY TIE RODS WERE BAD, BUT I JUST GOT THEM DONE. However, they never told me the day of my alignment that my tie rods were even bad. You would never get my business AGAIN. MIDAS PENN HILLS YALL ARE MAD CAUSE I DIDNT COME GET MY WORK DONE FROM YALL. Stick to the shop you know who will do your alignment right and not try to kill you while on the road.

Was in there for an alignment, tire rotation and inspection. Dropped it ff at 11AM they told me it would be ready at 1230 was ready at 1245. Cant complain about 15 mins. I recommend asking g for Keffer he does great work and explained everything that he did and gave me a few recommendations on some other service I would need in the future but didnt try to push the work to be done then. Thats how it should be done and because of that when time for it to be done I will return to have him do it.
