My husband & I began planning our destination wedding for ourselves & our guests back in July 2014 with Liberty Travel agent, Elizabeth Sorkin, group travel department. From the beginning of our planning, she always had a very low energy to the point that it seemed like we were bothering her. The first of many issues we ran into with her was that we continually had to check in with her to see if rates had become available. We emailed back & forth with her countless times over 10 months. When the rates finally became available, we found out through one of our guests, who booked elsewhere, instead of our travel agent who was supposed to be on top of all things booking. When we first met with Liz, in person, she sold us on many promotions & made it sound like booking through her would be our best option & the easiest thing we would do in planning. Looking back, it was the most stressful part about planning our entire destination wedding for ourselves & 25 guests. We have used Liberty Travel for multiple vacations in the past & have never had such horrible service. Liz originally showed us all the resorts that offered wedding packages & promotions since this would help intrigue our guests. At one point after we booked, she told us that the promotion was not available for 2016 vacations or group bookings. We had to continually argue with her to honor the promotion since she knew from the beginning we would be on a 2016 group booking. Eventually, after asking her many times for updates, she said that there was no issue with the promo for our group & we would all receive it after much hassle. We had only 6 rooms booked with Liz & every single room had an issue with her at one point or another. My husband’s grandmother had a few issues with receiving a return call back from Liz & payment issues. Two of our guests had the full trip amount charged to their cards instead of the deposit amount. Each time there was an issue our guests would call or email Liz & get no response until they contacted us. We (my husband & I) would then have to take time to email or call Liz asking her to contact our guests back. This scenario happened at least 4 different times over 11 months. Each time this did happen, Liz would express how sorry & busy she was, yet it continued to happen. If there was a question we asked Liz, we had to ask at least twice before we got the actual clear cut answer. We had to ask for a receipt for our payments at least 5 times. Each time she would blame it on the resort & say they are slow. Of the 9 other rooms that booked outside of Liberty Travel, 3 were booked directly through phone & email with the resort. Those guests had absolutely no problem or issue with waiting for the info they needed. Yet our travel agent made it seem impossible to get ahold of anyone on resort. The final straw was 3 days before we were set to leave for our destination wedding. Liz emailed us to confirm our days & the dates were wrong. At that point my husband & I had completely lost all faith in Liz as our travel agent & began worrying more about our travel plans than our own wedding. I contacted my wedding coordinator on resort immediately to make sure the error wasn’t on Majestic’s end. The error was on Liz’s end & her reasoning to us was that “we changed our dates multiple times”. We only changed them one time, which she had confirmed months prior via email. Every time there was an issue with Liz, she always made an excuse or blamed it on something we or the resort did. At this point, we feel that going through Liz was a waste of our time & money since most of our guests found better rates & service. There were multiple times that we felt trapped & stuck with the travel agent we got assigned because the deposit was nonrefundable & it would be a huge hassle for our guests. I wanted to share our terrible experience so that no one else has to go through all the stress & frustration that we did with our travel agent. Amazing experience and had an incredible vacation that was booked by Liberty Travel! From the first phone call to my return flight, everything went smooth. They are very responsive to questions and my concerns. Since we booked only two weeks in advance, this trip was last minute but we were still able to get a good price and direct flights to our destination. I didnt have a specific location in my mind, by the agent recommended Melia Caribe Tropic in Punta Cana where she stayed herself and I couldnt be happier with that decision. Highly recommend this travel agency!!

My family, friends and I used Liberty for our traveling purposes and they are awful!!!! Especially one particular agent, Michael Granger. He was not helpful, our flight was not included and he didnt even offer to help us find any good deals on our flights!!! I have several other issues that I already reached out to Liberty for and havent heard back from them. Which is really disheartening. There is absolutely no point in using them, youre not saving any money and you have to do most of the footwork yourself.

So unprofessional. The agent had us in the place for 3 hours. She took several phone calls like at least 7 and couldnt find the best price options or travel options to meet our needs. She didnt even try to present any other options for us to travel. She mostly sent emails and took phone calls while we waited and asked questions between phone calls. Very disheartening experience.

As long I been trying to get my son to go on vacation this place claim my son paid for a trip in full with counterfeit money. The money was verified.. If the money was counterfeit why will this agency offer him a credit for the trip. The trip cancelled the he lost a hundred dollar. But have a credit on a trip they claimed he paid with counterfeit money
