This gym is excellent in appearance and functionality, but management and the owner (kevin) are absolutely rude. Customer service is about helping your members feel comfortable with a service they are paying for. I asked the owner if I could talk to him about something. His response was "why". Almost as if he did not want to be bothered. Once I asked him if he knew there was nudity being played on a big screen TV right as you walk in (not that it bothered me, but most establishments today do not have this as their welcoming card). I felt it was the right thing to mention it to him in case it was being played by accident. He continued to say oh well have you seen what they play in Europe. Again I reiterated to him that it does not offend me, I just wasnt sure if he was aware it was being played right in the front lobby as people walk in. The owner replied, by asking me are you a Born again Christian. If your offended bring it up to the front desk. I guess the owner has no say on what plays on the TV, or he just does not care about having a polite conversation with anyone. Completely arrogant. I know in the future not to bring up any possible issues as he does not care. Like I mentioned above I was just simply bringing it to his attention in case he was unaware. I was not offended by the content. Just didnt want others who may find it offensive to come complain to him.

I dont have any affiliation with Retro Fitness other than I was a walk in customer wanting to pay cash for a 1 year membership. I worked with the General Manager. I believe his name was Clay. I was told that at the end of 12 months, I would then be on a month to month membership at the basic membership fee. However, if, at any time, I wish to cancel, I would either be on the hook for 60 more days (two months worth of fees) or give a two months notice and still pay for the monthly fee of course. I was okay with this and asked if this was in writing. I was told it wasnt. I asked if the gym would put this in writing and on my agreement/contract. Clay went out of his way to make this happen. I know it doesnt sound like much but to me its the little things a company does that make the biggest differences. Clay accommodated me in my request but even more importantly, he stood there and listened to all my concerns without getting defensive or deflecting. True customer service. In my experience, management (leadership) is key. When you have decent leadership (as i experienced) it flows down to the rest of the team. I have to believe the team at Retro Fitness in Stroudsburg care about customers. I experienced it with the General Manager. To the folks at Retro, keep up the great work. Your professionalism is greatly appreciated

I love it! The staff is super friendly and accommodating. My favorite room is the Cinema because it gives you the illusion of privacy, when there are usually other people around, but theyre either focused on the movie or their own workout. The only thing I would say could be slightly frustrating is checking in. Perhaps, when there are classes being held, there could be someone designated to check those enrolled in, since surely were not the majority of people checking in. Sometimes its a bit of a hustle, especially on a Friday evening to get out of traffic and try to get to a class on time and cant check in. Although I understand its a busy time, it can be frustrating standing behind people that have questions or other concerns, when I can be checked in and in my way.

GOOD RIDDANCE TO THE FILTHY YMCA........... After all these years Ive thrown in my towel. That place was disgustingly filthy and they have a snobby staff. They shock the jacuzzi while you are "sitting in it. Ever go into their pool after the toddlers come out? Can you say "floating turd balls"? In the last year; the regulars were leaving left/and/right. They all went RETRO...!! Even their own staff members go RETRO...!! Checking Stroudsburg location tomorrow but; been RETRO in Jersey so, I know its gana be AWESOME. MORAL OF THIS STORY? Change is difficult sometimes but....CLEANLINESS IS IMPORTANT EVERDAY...!!! :)

So far, pretty good...I love taking the classes...the variety of them.....as far as everything else...the gym is at its busiest when people get off work...Ive seen it so it affects parking...but I find that when I adjust my time to arrive a little better...it works out....I havent tried the machines yet....Ive noticed that things get a bit frazzled at the front when folks are checking in...but thats the nature of the shifts that happen in people leaving and people arriving....

Dont make the mistake we all did when they first opened up! They never fully explained the membership can not be cancelled and when you call in regards to your account, they are short and just say you have to come in. We just had a problem where we have always been set up for automatic pay and for some reason they had a glitch so it didnt work and they charged us almost $20 in a late fee?! Go elsewhere its not worth it!

Basically a scam. You are 100% unable to cancel your membership unless you have a DOCTORs NOTE (what am I 12?) or you move to a location that doesnt have a retro (to which you need PROOF). This is absolutely unacceptable and reeks of "SCAM" as they trap you into using their services and collecting your money. Did I also mention the terrible customer service as they never return emails submitted from their own website?

Awesome place, everything is new, working order, staff is generally friendly. The many different classes to choose from and the theater is pretty cool. The only downer is NO WIFI. If Im locked into a annual contract with fees at least give me some damn wifi please. Anyway its the best place around by far. Parking is not a problem unless its peak hours. If you need a gym, this is the place to be

Do not give them access to your account. They will screw up your billing, over charge you and blame you. They have over charged me twice now costing me to be hundreds of dollars short while they go thru their paper work to make sure they werent wrong. You can never reach by phone. They are never there when they say they will be. Work membership of my life!!

Great gym. Great equipment. Anthony who works the front desk might be the most genuine person Ive ever come across. He makes the process for signing up or anything you need a great one. Great salesman, I do believe it would be in the gyms best interest to make him the man in charge.

The place is a great gym, but beware of their contract policies. Theres absolutely no early termination, your locked in for a year and its automatic renewal so you need to give them advanced notice, in writing, and if your late with a payment youre hit with a huge penalty.

I love the service here. Depending on the time of day that you come it can be super crowded or nobody at all. The prices are very competitive with local gyms as well. Equipment is clean and well maintained and there are options for various exercise routines.

I like the gym as far as the machines and staff, But they close so darn early on weekends! Why close on the very day that people are usually free to workout?? Plus Fridays are supposed to be 24/7 but they close early then too its really backwards
