Before 2014, I had a direct number to a very helpful manager at this location. Times have changed, and yes: service has declined, problems abound, and you cannot get through. I only ship a handful of things out each week but in the past few months, Ive had more items misrouted, damaged and delayed, in a shorter span of time, than Id experienced in toto prior to that. I suspect some of the loss and delays are due to newer automation and overworked/inexperienced handlers, since I have tracked things online and seen packages go in circles or to the wrong side of the country and get forwarded when there were *no* forwarding requests, ever. I have also seen carriers who arent our usual ones do some weird stuff like enter "no safe place for delivery" in the tracking line when they did not even stop their truck to come to our covered porch, which has a swing, a garden bench, and a few other places the other carriers leave packages for us, regularly. (I would have met that carrier at the street, but was getting dressed when I heard the truck go by.) It hardy seems like a big deal until youre forced to rely on that tracking info--which is used to settle disputes, nondelivery claims, etc--that in this case was a real lie, and worse: it reflects badly on the other workers. Our normal mail carriers are amazing people! I wish USPS would better value those good people they have working for them. Because theres a real difference between the folk who do good work carefully & thoroughly well, and those wholl get by on meeting pay-for-performance requirements as quickly as they can, doing whats to be done with the least amount of attention possible. So its important if you call to complain that you also respect the difference between the people who do their job well, like the person you might be talking to, and the people who dont! If we take things for granted and talk to someone like they are just some sort of stupid inconvenience to us, we are just making it worse--for everyone. I have had really good luck getting through to people at the normal 800, but all the direct numbers, now, ring out--some dont even go to voicemail. So: try that number. If you arent making any headway with the rep you get, hang up and try again! That said: all the people Ive spoken to over it have been quite helpful. (The local call center 926 one not so much, so really: try the 800.)

I have had 2 packages ordered that instead of being delivered, they become "available for pickup" - how hard is it to deliver packages you are supposed to deliver? So, I went over there this week to pick up my package (again, because delivering it seems to be such a hardship). The first time I went, I waited in line for a good 30+ minutes. Finally got to my turn, and the person simply looks around on the computer and says "well, I dont know. It isnt up here (meaning the upper level), maybe it is out for delivery" - yeah, right. They had had days to deliver it if that is what they were going to do. I left, thinking that was as hard as that particular employee was going to try to track down my package for me. I went back the very next day (yesterday), had a different employee...that person also could not do anything at the time for a package that was not upstairs, but at least this time she wrote down my information on an inquiry form. I got a call a few hours later informing me that they had it set aside upstairs for me and I could pick it up as soon as I wanted. I think it depends on the employee you get as to how far they are willing to do their job. I dont ask for perfection, but I do ask for competence and a helpful attitude. Still, I am not sure why my package couldnt just be delivered. It isnt big, or heavy, and it is being delivered to my office so it isnt something that needs a signature.

This was the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I went in to get a passport and it was 3:55. The passport place closed at 4:00 and of course they were already gone. So the next time I went I checked the hours online and it said from 9-4. I go there at 12:30 and there is a sign on in the window. On lunch break from 12:30 to 1:30. I guess they had different hours that week. So frustrated I go up to talk to the lady at the desk and she acted soooooooooo put out to even be there. When I expressed my frustration she said "well those are the hours and you will have to come back" I asked her isnt there someone else that can snap a picture and take care of this? "nope" was her reply. I asked to speak to the manager and he was actually nice and explained that he was short-handed and that was the reason for the adjusted hours. He took my number down and said he would check to make sure they could take infant pictures for the passports anbd call me that afternoon. That was 3 days ago and my wife and I have tried calling over 10 times and no one answers. At one point I let it ring for 5 minutes and finally someone picked up only to hang up on me. I tried calling right back and the phone was busy(probably left of the hook). This has been the worst experience of my life and dont understand how someone can have so little pride in what they do. Every worker there seems upset to even be there.

This post office has made my busiest season more of a headache than it needs to be. I just started a jewelry company several months ago, and since the beginning of December have had about 200 orders placed. I have been working diligently to get the orders done and mailed out in a timely fashion and have sent my employee that deals with mail to this location to send out packages. Since I finished 50 packages today, I deemed it important to get them out as quickly as I could. My employee entered the post office and notified them that he had a lot of packages to send, they said it was okay, and when he got to about package 10 they looked at him as though he was stupid and kicked him out because he had "way too many packages" and they couldnt send all of those out. So now my company is suffering because this Post Office couldnt send out all of my orders. If they can spend an hour with the people in the Passport line, why cant they do the same for people who are working hard to make their company successful. I will never go back to this awful post office.

I attempted to mail an envelope containing a check to my mom (a bank or Venmo transfer was not suitable in this situation) and one week later, still never delivered. I didnt expect to have to obtain a tracking number for just an envelope that was going 2 and a half hours away but I guess I will next time, if I decide to use USPS at all. Theyve been alright in the past but thats whenever I went to the facility in person. At my previous residence, my roommate and I had problems with the driver mixing up ours and our neighbors mail even though we put our names on the inside of our mailbox. This time the letter was mailed from my residence. Its not comforting to know that I have a slim chance of receiving proper service sending and receiving mail at home... you know, a standard service.
