*** POSITIVE UPDATE TO MY PREVIOUS REVIEW *** I received a call from, Bill, the Operations Manager at Dipple. He was sorry to hear about my experience and wanted to hear about my experience directly. After explaining he refunded me 1/2 the cost of the repairs. I was literally speechless. All he asked is that I give Dipple another chance in the future. He even said I could call him directly. Based on my interaction with Bill and his desire to make things right I will definitely give Dipple another shot. Ive never had a company do anthing like this before and it shows me that they really do care and attempt to do what they can for the customer to have as positive experience as possible. ************ I have a heat pump. The indoor air handler unit stopped blowing, so I called Dipple based on a friends recommendation and after reading online reviews. I called in the morning and Dipple was able to send a technician the same afternoon. The tech said the air handler needed a blower motor. After the trip fee, labor and part the total would be $740. It seemed a little pricey to remove and install a blower motor that is easily accessible. The part retails for $275-325. The tech also recommended at new thermostat for $300 (also seemed real high for a part you can get at a home center and intall by yourself somewhat easily) and tried to sell me a 5 year warranty multiple times to which I declined. He said he checked the outdoor heat pump unit, its capacitor, refrigerant and etc...and everything was in order. I didnt get a good vibe from the guy, but I was in a pinch and took the bait. I mentioned to my girlfriend that something didnt seem quite right and I felt like I was getting taken for a ride. The tech returned within 48 and completed the install within a couple of hours between 3-5PM and all seemed to be well - it was a Thursday. I left town that evening and returned the following Monday to a hot house. Now the outdoor heat pump unit was not running but the inside air handler was. The next morning I called Dipple to let them know and they could not have a tech back for 48 hours. I was told I also may be charged another trip fee of $79. In the meantime, out of frustration, I started doing my research. I checked the capacitor on the outdoor heatpump and it was in horrendous condition. It was obviously in need of replacement and had the type of damage that takes a while to happen, so I know it just didnt happen in the last few days. I found the part at Grainger for $19.91, installed it in 10 minutes and my unit was blowing colder and better than it ever has. Also, the top cover of the outdoor unit did not appear it had been removed nor any of the lines or wires handled. I dont think it was ever touched. Did I get screwed? Not sure. Did I get a thorough check of my system when the tech said I did? No. Bottom line is I think the tech was more concerned with upselling me and cut corners on his inspection. I dont trust Dipple and wont use them again but your mileage may vary. Best part of the experience is that it motivated me to learn more about the system so they are not as much of an unknown evil as they were before. Just chalking it up to a life lesson.

I have never used Dipple Plumbing until today, and from now on they will be the only ones I call for my plumbing needs! I live in a condo complex built in 1939, so it has some old ways about the plumbing that had to be figured out. Jimmy Hall came out and did an excellent job assessing what needed to be done, but things are so old and odd here there was one hurdle he needed help with, so he called Mr. Chuck Dipple, the founder and owner of Dipple Plumbing himself to come on site! Chucks decades of experience were wielded like a Master Plumber Ninja and he figured out exactly what had to be done so the job could move forward! Now THATS service when the owner comes out and he didnt have to. 2016-09-19 -- BOTTOM LINE... Dipple has earned my trust and respect for them to be my Go-To for all of my plumbing, and now all of my HVAC needs. After my plumbing experience with Dipple, I needed to have my HVAC fixed back in July 2016, so I called Dipple again. Will (HVAC Tech) came out and had my air conditioning up and going in very short order, and he had a super positive attitude. I already knew that my entire HVAC system was years overdue to be replaced, so I asked Will if I could schedule someone to come out and give me an estimate. Will said he could call someone right then and have them be at my home that same day. Thats service! Sure enough, Vince showed up to help me figure out what would be the best replacement for my situation. Vince is a former HVAC installer turned Technical Sales Rep, so he knows what hes talking about and not just selling me a box. Vince didnt pressure me at all, and gave me some model configurations to choose from. After a couple of days, I made the final decision on the model, and Vince got things rolling on his end. Since the job was going to take 2 days, Vince made sure I had a portable AC unit that would keep my place cool overnight. Joe and J.R. did the installation and they were really great! It was obvious they knew their stuff, and they were very professional and super nice guys. They made a great team, and they really worked their butts off. For such a major project, I couldnt have asked for a better experience.

I had a leaky pipe under the house that I noticed before leaving for work. Dipple said theyd have someone there at 9am. I called back shortly after and let them know that the leak was where the ice-maker hose met the waterline, so that their technician would be prepared accordingly. A little after 9am the technician called and said he was running late. When he finally got there, around 10am (Im missing work during this time), he looked at the leak, quoted me over $400 (incl the dispatch fee) and said he didnt have the part needed, even though Id let his office know. I had to head to work and couldnt wait around so left him a check. I called Dipple when I got back to my office to let them know that I was not happy with the $400+ price to replace a $45 part that surely didnt even have an hour of labor. I was told that the technician misquoted and it was $280 instead of $400. Since they had my check, I was told that theyd destroy my check and I gave them my CC info on the phone. The next day I got a call from Dipple saying that theyd accidentally deposited my $400 check, but didnt run the charge for the $280 on my card and that theyd send me a refund check. True enough, they didnt hit me for the $280 and I did get a refund check a couple of days later. The work was good, the people I spoke to were friendly and professional as well (hence the 3 stars). But I still cant justify paying $280 for a $45 part and what should have been about 30 minutes of labor (the tech could easily stand up under my house and work on the leak and I had told the offc the part the tech would need). Maybe I just havent needed plumbing work done lately and am out of touch on pricing, but this seems excessively expensive. Even at $100/hr I should have only been paying around $150. And the misquote by the tech and the payment mistake by the office - though remedied - didnt help.
