I would give them 0 if it was an option! My husband and I PCS moved to Ft Campbell from Alaska which we contacted Remax about a rental property they managed. They were nice in the beginning and quick to take our money. We paid prorated rent for them to hold the house as we made our way to Ft Campbell. When we arrive we were disappointed when we walked through the door there were holes in the walls that had not been fixed, the carpet had not been cleaned, and the house was not at all clean. There was trash on top of the kitchen cabinets, a dirty rag inside the drain of the kitchen sink, the handles to the bathroom drawers were broken, the bathroom appeared to not be clean, their was trash and random kids toys under the deck outside. We called and told them they acted like it was no big deal that we had paid them prorated rent, and also a $900 dep. My husband and I stayed in a hotel for three days while they finally agreed to fix the issues at the house. We asked for them to at least pay the cost of our hotel because the house was not in the shape it was supposed to be in upon arrival. They refused! At this point I wanted nothing to do with this company and asked for our deposit back and to break the lease. They refused, and told me the owners had already spent my deposit. WHO TELLS THEIR CUSTOMERS THAT? A couple days later the toilet began to run we called for them to fix, they told us its our responsibility to fix it. When my husband opened to toilet lid it was TIED TOGETHER WITH A SHOE STRING! We never received our garage door opener, but we sure paid the price for the double garage in the rent. It was clear that the move out inspection that was required for me was never done for the tenants that lived in the place before us. We also had a problem with ants when summer rolled around. They never would send someone out to spray. Upon moving out we were required to do a move out inspection. I had the house cleaned professionally and the carpets as well. There were small nail holes in the walls which is to be expected and NO WHERE in the contract does it say we could not hang stuff on the walls. I also bought three new sets of blinds and gave Tonya Stewart the receipt because she stated they were the incorrect size. She told me they would charge me $20 to take them back. Okay $20 no big deal. Two weeks later I contact her asking for the receipt for the move out inspection and I get a invoice stating I owe them $850 PLUS $75.00 for the re-key fee.I am being charge for them to paint three rooms, for the blinds AGAIN after I already bought them, three light bulbs, and because the sink drains slow. This is a rental property and I do not believe I am responsible for the issues about the only room that needed one wall to be repainted is the mater bathroom because they used cheap paint and there is no vent in the bathroom. When you shower it creates steam and when there is no where for the steam to exit, humidity accumulates and it causes the paint to peel. Again not really my responsibility the choose to paint a bathroom with normal cheap flat paint. I also want to note that while I was in their office paying my rent I witnessed as they told an active duty soldier he could not break his lease a month early because he had schools orders and then was PCSing from the school. THIS IS ILLEGAL! Not to mention the advertise " Military Friendly" on the building which is clearly not true. I understand I am responsible for the $75.00 re-key fee and I have no problem paying for that, how ever I want at least the $800 back. I want nothing further to do with this company and believe they should be removed from Ft. Cambells housing recommendation list as well.

So please read everything to see what you get from these crooks. So I hired them to manage my house five years ago because I had to move because of the military. They were supposed to watch my house and make sure the tenants didnt wreck the place. I wish I could say they did that but they didnt. I asked my tenant if Remax north star ever came to the house. They said they never seen them in five years. I also told Remax no cats in my house. But cats were in my house and I never received a pet deposit. When I asked Glenda about the cats she claimed ignorance. She would have known about the cats if she ever checked on my house because of all the pee stains and really bad cat smell in my house. It was so bad I had to replace all the carpets in my house. I mention the holes in the wall that I had to fix. With no deposit kept from my tenant. According to Remax North Star all that is normal wear and tear. By the way my tenant didnt get the deposit back ether...... where did that money go? Not to mention how my wall was rotting away due to the lack of maintenance on my windows. I had rotting Windows, doors, and broken siding on my house all that could be seen if you just walked around my house like I did when I got stationed back at Campbell. Speaking of that. 12 months prior to me moving back to Campbell we told Glenda that we are coming back and not to resign a lease to our house. Did she listen...... nope. So we told Glenda to contact the tenant and ask him if he wouldnt mind breaking his lease because me and my family were coming back. She told us that we were good to come and have our house back. On the day me and my family of five were driving to sign for my keys she tells us that the tenant still hasnt moved out. Well I was mad because I thought I was getting my house back and made no other arrangements for my family. Since I was in the military and the tenant was to I looked him up and called him. He told me that Remax never contacted him about anything. But conveniently Remax had a house they could rent us for a year. Seeing how I was homeless I took the deal from those snakes and accepted the poorly managed house from Scott the owner. So I hope you read all this and stay away from this company. There is more but then I would have to open my own web site to cover all what they did wrong.

We rented through Re/Max Northstar and their agent, Debbie Pepper, for over a year. Initially, the service and support were better than we couldve expected. We moved in close to winter and had to have the HVAC unit on the property replaced almost immediately, which they facilitated with the owner without hesitation. Soon after that, substandard appliances (blinds, garbage disposal) began to break and we were immediately held at fault until the repair man (his name is Mike and he was phenomenal for us) was able to let the property manager and owner know that the items did not break due to our own negligence. The blinds, for instance, were not installed or manufacturered correctly and broke after only a few times of raising and lowering them, which led us to simply not use them at all after we had been told that we would be replacing them if they were broken. We are a military family and extended our lease for 90 days while I was away for a training exercise, but clearly stated that we would be vacating the property at the end of the 90-day term before the extension was signed. Even though this was made clear beforehand, we were held liable for an additional half-months rent because we did not give them "proper" notification that we were vacating. We are presently trying to retrieve our security deposit and we have been met with excessive excuses, we have not received an itemized list of damages we were liable for within 10 days of vacating (as is TN state law), nor have we been notified of any money spent from our deposit on repairs (also TN state law). It has been more than 30 days since the move-out home inspection was completed and we are being told that their timeline for returning our deposit doesnt begin until the period we paid for had ended. All in all, I would recommend another company to manage your property or handle your rental. Re/Max Northstar makes a fantastic first impression, but their follow-through is anything but. My suggestion for your real estate needs would be Jeremy Bullock at Keller Williams in Clarksville. He was incredible when finding and helping us secure our first home.
