I will start by saying that up until the final point Oakwood Cleaners did a good job cleaning my clothes and had great customer service. However, I will not be using them again after my last visit and encounter with the manager. When she came out she hung up my clothes and began to check me out. But rather than going over what everything cost to be cleaned (which all of the other employees have done in the past), she just told me how much it cost as she charged my credit card. I thought the price sounded high and as I went through the clothing really quick, I asked why I was charged $12 for a shirt that was supposed to cost $3.75 to clean (it was a $7 shirt to begin with). This is where her true colors began to shine... She said "oh, well there is one metal button on it so we had to clean it differently and it cost more", so when I said that Im not fine with that since I was told it wouldnt cost that much to clean her response was "well we can change our prices based on the cleaning...and I already charged your card anyways so theres nothing that can be done at this point." She actually said that! So in response to her rudeness I quickly pointed out that I didnt approve the charge and I also hadnt signed a receipt and refuse to do so. I was then turned into the bad guy as another customer waited and was told " if youre going to be like that I guess Ill just have to put a credit on your account for the overcharge" (WHICH SHE SHOULD"VE OFFERED IN THE FIRST PLACE!) I then said that I dont want a credit since Ive been talked to so rudely and I wish to take my business elsewhere. She then told me that shell just issue me a full refund for everything and that I can just take my clothes for free because I dont pay attention to the listed prices and am cheap. I insisted that she just refund me only the $8 overcharge and instead was told that the whole transaction would be refunded and that I leave. Well, she refunded the one shirt and not everything else and then tossed my clothes angrily at me over the counter. So I then walked out of that store for the last time and I will never go back. That business lost my patronage over a bad manager that handled an $8 overcharge in the poorest snobbiest manner. Ultimately, they do a good job at cleaning and maybe she was having a bad day. Regardless, the treatment I received was uncalled for...and if I were the owner reading this Google review Id definitely take actions to ensure that this sort of customer service never happens in the future.

UPDATED REVIEW:: Received wrong dress, but.....spoke not just with the customer service manager, but the owner as well. We drove from out of state just to have my wedding dress cleaned and preserved at Oakwood Cleaners. Through a few people, we heard great things about this place, and wanted to make sure my dress was handled professionally and did not want to take our chances. My mother and I were horrified when we opened our box to find that it was not my dress! We immediately called Oakwood Cleaners and spoke with Alicia who was just as horrified as we were. Thankfully, my dress was still there. They overnighted it to us, but not before having some issues with the General Manager, Tim. He was rude and pompous and seemed to have no sense of urgency with the situation. Since the incident (Oct. 2011), we have spoken not just with Alicia, the customer service manager, but also received a personal phone call from Rhonda, the OWNER of Oakwood Cleaners. Both Alicia and Rhonda were more than pleasant to speak to and work with, and both were sympathetic to the emotional distress this situation put us through. After speaking with them, the situation has been completely resolved and we are pleased to have MY dress home! The quality of work performed is amazing! Just a tip if you do choose Oakwood Cleaners: It is their policy that the box be opened in front of you before you take it home. Make sure this is done! Unfortunately the customer service rep who walked our box to the car did not follow procedure. She is no longer with the company.

My wife brought in her handmade wedding dress to be cleaned and have some beads, lace, and a button repaired after our honeymoon. Being assured wed be taken care of and >$300 later we left the dress, but we found some problems when we got it back. The dress was cleaned about 80% which we could sort of understood (they mentioned before that not every spot can come out), but the Button was still missing and wasnt even included with the dress. Beads were still loose, and the lace was even worse than before with a few rips around the hooks for the train. My wife called them in the hope of getting even a half refund (they did clean most of the dress), but the owner said they Cant give a refund (since when can an owner not give refunds?!). At their meeting the owner proceeded to tell my wife that she couldnt prove the lace wasnt damaged before she came in (which didnt matter anyway since we paid to get it repaired). Each time there was new issue, there was an excuse too. "Those beads arent THAT loose", "That couldve been loose when you brought it in", "Thats not too bad" "youre only this worried cause its a wedding dress", "No I cant give any refund". They offered to take it back and try again, but my wife did not want to leave it with them for a second time out of fear of more damage to the dress. Since when are excuses and blame good for business? My wife was in tears on the ride home. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

I have just got to tell everyone how wonderful Oakwood Cleaners is!! I have a blouse that holds incredible sentimental value that I thought was lost forever due to deodorant stains. I took my blouse in and the next morning after dropping the blouse off the lady fm the Hermitage location called to say that she was "hand" cleaning the spots so as to maintain the wearability of the blouse. When I went to pick up my blouse at the White Bridge location where I dropped it off, the blouse was as perfect as it was the evening I unwrapped it as a gift! I continue to take my couture clothing to Oakwood for exceptional cleaning that is done without petroleum based products! Oakwood is a "green" cleaners. The customer service is better than ANY cleaners I have ever used!! They know my name and have never gotten anything other than sterling care! We will continue to take our garments to Oakwood not only for the loving care they get, but for the personalized care! Oakwood, I give you 5 stars!! They even have a free gourmet coffee bar for you to get a free cup of coffee when you are dropping off your cleaning!! Now thats service!! Did I forget to say they have free pick up and delivery!!

Wonderful, wonderful,wonderful! From the moment you walk in Oakwood Cleaners until you leave, you are treated with respect, patience, and kindness. Customer Service is superior! The customer service representative took her time with me and listened to my concerns. AND when my suit was returned to me, it was in outstanding condition. The fact that this cleaners is a GREEN cleaners, just adds to my comfort level in leaving my clothing at Oakwood Cleaners. You can trust that they will do a fabulous job with your clothing. thank you Oakwood cleaners.
