Tried to scam me with an over-inflated $3,600 bill!!! I am a young, educated professional in her twenties who had a few concerns with an older model Lexus with wear/tear issues. I knew my radiator was compromised, but wanted a diagnosis. To make a very long story short, they found "several things wrong" with a car that has run well. It was obvious that the radiator and alternator needed to be addressed and possibly power steering. When they gave me the bill, I gasped!! $1,000 just for the radiator? I mean, come on! I can buy that same part for $150.00 and have a mechanic install it for another $150.00 What justifies the $700 upsell? Are their tools made of Platinum? Boy, they must have thought I was some young, dumb Latina Barbie doll, but what they didn't know is that I'm highly intelligent as a college professor, CEO of my small corporation in addition to working in my Ph.D. at UIW (which is across the street). I have mad research skills and know my car better than they thought I did. I took my car to an auto-shop near the college I teach at in NW San Antonio and had the radiator, alternator and power steering addressed/fixed (parts/labor) for only $1,500! That's all that was all that was wrong with my car. My car now drives like a dream thanks to the awesome mechanic I took my Lexus to who is HONEST! If anything, I don't want others to get an inflated bill since I know that gullible women are taken a lot by mechanics. To Firestone: Just because I'm a young lady doesn't mean I'm dumb and just because you are located in Alamo Heights does not justify your inflated prices! I work extremely hard for my money and want people to read my experience!

Not sure if there is a management change at this location, I have not had car trouble in quite some time. I called about a potential drive train issue. I believe Tony the manager answered the phone. From the minute he answered it was first class service. Right away he said to bring it in and would evaluate for free. I took the car right in, noticed they were busy and expected a long wait. Not at all, Tony was expecting me put the guys on it and within 15 minutes they walked me to the car and showed me in great detail what was wrong with the car. They prepared a very reasonable estimate, well within or less than others. Car was to be repaired in one day, however they found an even bigger problem with the car. I though for sure OK here comes the big gotcha bill. In the contrary Tony was very apologetic and said even before I could say anything" I made you a promise on time and cost" so I will take care of it just need more time. Even offered other transport. I was blown away by there attention to detail. Just to make sure it was not to good to be true I observed how they handled other customers and noticed the same level of service. Not sure how they compare overall on price with everyone else but I can tell you I felt I was getting a very honest deal. I plan on coming back many times.

I came in for an alignment. A bit after leaving the car I was called by the same gentleman I spoke over the phone with and was informed that I actually needed a 100 dollar part in addition to the alignment. I replied to leave my car alone that I would take ot elsewhere. To my astonishment the man replied that it would still be 75 for the alignment, which apparently was not the problem. The man then proceeded to accuse me of questioning his character when I was simply going to seek another opinion. Luckily he retracted on his statement that I still had to pay for a procedure that wouldnt even solve the issue I was coming in for. A customer should never feel obligated to get a repair done at a shop, which is exactly how I felt. I would never go to this place ever again.

I was only in town for the weekend when my cars check engine light came on an hour outside of town. I called them the next day and they did so much to help me! Louis Watkins handled getting my information, and even drove me back to my hotel since I had no ride! They called me a few hours later to explain the problem with the car was a minor fix, and that it would be ready soon. Since I, once again, didnt have a ride, Louis offered to come pick me up the next morning! He called the next day to let me know he was on his way, and he drove up in my car so I could drive it back to the shop, testing that everything was running smoothly! They were fast, professional, and very friendly, and would recommend them highly!

Not impressed. I went to this particular Firestone because of its location, in a nice downtown area w/ lots to do w/in walking distance. I was told my oil change & tire rotation would take 2hrs max, so I went & got a mani/pedi. An hour & 1/2 later I stroll back & my car not done, after waiting another 30mins I ask the front desk how much longer, to find out a jaw-jacking mechanic that had been at the front desk since I returned had yet to rotate my tires... The work was fine & the cost wasnt bad, but if you are going to use this location be sure to have a ride & come back for it later.

I dont usually have a high regard for big chain mechanics. So, I wanted to make sure and write this place a good review. I didnt need anything major, just an alignment and to check my own work replacing my tie rods. I asked them to go ahead and rotate my tires because I didnt feel like dealing with that at home. They found a screw in one of em and let me know about it. So I had them patch that too so I didnt have to go grab a plug and mess with fixing it myself. Very courteous, polite service from Derick and the tech who was thorough enough for my standard.

Worst auto service place anywhere. We went in for an oil change since our car was in need of one and they refused to change the oil in the car because they "suspected" another issue though they ran no test or checks and the only thing they were willing to do was charge 50 to do some oil leak test and after 150 miles we could come back to see if they wanted to change the oil. This was disrepectful and entire waste of time. We normally buy tires from Firestone but they wont be keeping our business.

They gave me a quote on fixing a leak in my power steering that, if Id had all the work done, would have cost well over $1000. Took it to another ASE certified garage and walked out with a new hose & connections for around $190. They also gave me a list of "recommended" work that would have run over $3000, including replacing a pump and hoses that Id just had done 6 months ago. I went there only because they were close to where I work...never again!
