Well I am new to the San Antonio area and I was driving to a work function and in the parking lot the ball joint on my lincoln town car cracked and broke. I wont get into details but I went on my phone to find close auto repair shops and Thousand oaks came up first. Initially everything was great they picked up my car and called me the next day to discuss the issues. I spoke with a gentlemen named Leo and he was very nice on the phone. He explained to me what was wrong and what the costs would be. Here is the issue: I very clearly discussed what my expectations were and also my concerns. They were this: 1- I wanted to make sure the air suspension was okay. Lincoln Town cars have air suspension and losing the air in those can be very expensive. Leo told me that he would check out the car to make sure nothing else was wrong. Also keep in mind when the car got picked up no lights were showing to check air suspension. 2. I made it clear I wanted them to check to make sure everything else in the car was ok but to let me know if there was anything else that needed to be fixed. It has had a bad squeak and wanted to to make sure everything was ok or if maybe that was what caused the whole thing. He said ok and that the car would be ready in a few days. That being said 1 week and half later I finally get to pick up my car. I go in spoke to the person in the front and we go over what was done. I asked him if there was anything else wrong with the car and how the other ball joint on the other side was doing. He replied that everything was good and the car was running great. So I pick up my keys jump in the car and almost immediately I hear the same squeaking noise I had been hearing before all of this. I look up on the dash and the light says check air suspension. I immediately make a u turn and go back in. There was a guy sitting next to the guy I was speaking to. I told him about the light and the squeak and the other guy immediately jumps in and says we just worked on the the left wheel area and got it up and running. I said ok but the light was not on before I left and the air bags are in the rear and he said that well it could have leaked on its own. I didnt really argue with him but I proceeded to ask about the squeak in the car and he responded right away and said it could have been a dry bushing but again we didnt check the right side at all. Keep in mind all the damage and repairs were done on the RIGHT SIDE! He was speaking not knowing any of the previous conversations I have had which is very annoying. I said ok well what can we do about it now? He responded well we can check it but we cant even start to look at it for another few hours. This makes absolutely no sense! I spent over 1 thousand dollars with these people and the brush it off and had no sense of customer service! I was clearly agitated and they made no attempt to actually give good customer service and to be honest I never right reviews but I was so annoyed with the lack of service I signed up to write this one. I am a hardworking father of three kids and coming up with 1000 dollars is not an easy thing for me to do. Now I have to bring my car into the dealership (which I should have done originally) to check on something that I told them to check for already and didnt have any issues with to begin with. When choosing a mechanic keep this comment in the back of your head and dont go here if you want honest customer service!

WERE GLAD WE FINALLY FOUND A PLACE WE CAN TRUST! We live in Houston and our daughter lives and works in San Antonio. Her dad does all the maintenance and up-keep on her car, each time she comes home to visit! When she came home for the Thanksgiving holidays and my husband put brakes on her car, rotated tires and changed oil. He checked-it-out and it was in good shape! Im early-January, she called to tell my husband that her car was making a funny noise. A week later, she called and said it was getting worse, but only when she turned or let off the gas (decelerated). The noise finally got so bad, that she was afraid to drive her car. My husband told her to ask around for someone to recommend a "reputable" auto repair shop. Someone recommended Thousand Oaks Automotive! We are so glad they did! My husband is a shade-tree mechanic and knows about repairs. He had already "pre-diagnosed" the possible problems. It was most likely broken motor mount, but could also be a bad CV-Joint, or a problem with the rack & pinion steering. My husband said that whatever it was, it was serious and going to cost a lot! Our daughter recently started a new job and could NOT be without a vehicle. She got a rental, and made an appointment to drop hers off at T-O-A when they opened! She went to work and my husband waited by the phone to see what the mechanic found and how much it was going to cost to fix. At about 11:00 am, he received a call from David, at Thousand Oaks Automotive! He said they had found the problem; fixed it; and the car was ready to be picked-up. He further explained that the noise was due to loose lug-nuts on one wheel. The wheel was beginning to wobble, and could have eventually fallen off! He said he pulled all 4 wheels, checked all the brakes, (noticed they were new) test drove the car, and found that everything else was fine! The total charge....??? $58.00...!!! We are so thankful that someone recommended Thousand Oaks Automotive! We live in Houston, but our daughter lives in San Antonio! We no longer have to worry about her having car problems; she knows who to call! THANK YOU Thousand Oaks Automotive! THANK YOU David!

If I could give less than 1 star I would have. Where to begin. So I took my truck in for them to pull a vac and recharge my AC system after all of the parts were replaced. They told me I had a bad compressor, right out of the box. Ok sure, I sent it back and got a new one. Mind you, this was an open system at this point, no coolant to recover. So I took it back, this time with the new compressor and asked if they could just "slap" the new one on, "no problem" they said. Its literally 4 bolts. Didnt explain anything to me warranty wise. So I go to pick it up later, I had a whopping $700 bill. I did have some other work but about $300 of it was for the AC work, which was only supposed to be about $70 if I remember right to vac and recharge. The reason I took it there to begin with. They never told me that it was going to cost anything to put it in or I would have done it right there in the parking lot and saved $200! Anyways, they stated that they pulled a vac and there were no leaks. Fine. However I noticed that it wasnt as cool as I thought it would be but didnt use the truck all that much until recently and now that its hot, it wasnt cooling much at all and now they want to charge me to fix what they should have done to begin with because theres no warranty on ANYTHING, since I provided the part. I also paid quite a bit for an alignment which they never really did. It still pulls pretty bad and they said I needed another part for that which would be another $300. They are dishonest, scamming and their customer service is terrible. I will never go back and will tell everyone I know to stay away. Horrible, horrible place.
