Angel Hills Funeral Home is a HORRIBLE place that takes advantage of people in a very vulnerable, low point of their life. This funeral home has zero ethics and is completely dishonest. I would not recommend this place to anyone. On 9/30 my brother and sister in law lost their unborn child. She was 21 weeks (more than 1/2 way here). My brother and sister n law had already named her, Ava. This was an extremely difficult loss for them. They had to notify the hospital of the funeral home they were going to be using before she could be discharged. So, dealing with the fact that they had just lost their baby, they had a small window of time to choose a funeral home I called a list of funeral homes the hospital so kindly provided us with. One of the #s was to Angel Hills funeral home. I called and spoke with Lonnie, who told me it would be $100 for the cremation and $21 per death certificate. When I asked him if that was it on the price, he responded "yes, my name is Lonnie, I am the only one here". My brother, numb by the loss and in a haze, went to the funeral home to pay them for cremation. Lonnie informed my brother that he was required to sign a contract. My brother, under duress, signed the contract.. not realizing what he signed and then paid Lonnie $256. Lonnie did not provide my brother with a copy of the contract, nor an explanation of the contents of the contract, only a receipt. When my brother got home and told his wife about the funeral home and the uneasy feeling he had with it, they decided they wanted to move Ava to a different funeral home. They then contacted Blessings Funeral in Mansfield who were absolute BLESSINGS! They picked baby Ava up from the Angel Hills Funeral Home, and handled everything with the cremation. Blessings funeral home only charged $171 and required no contract under the circumstances. I called Lonnie at Angel Hills to ask if he was going to refund the $256, and he replied no. I asked him why, what exactly was the breakdown of the fees when they provided No service? He responded "$100 for the cremation, $135 for a urn and $21 for a death certificate". He also informed me that my brother "signed a contract that stated if the service was cancelled there would be a $300 fee for picking the body up, which they were willing to waive if they chose to go with their funeral home". He also made reference to the fact that he was just charging for fees he is out. The hospital was only approx. 2-3 miles from the funeral home, so I was left completely confused on the fees he was out considering he did NOTHING. How does it cost money to do nothing? I just do not understand how someone could take total advantage of people in their most vulnerable state. This company charged my brother $256 for doing NOTHING. How can they sleep at night? How can they get away with this? It makes no sense and it makes me sick!!!

MY NAME IS MARY LENAHAN AND THIS FURNERAL HOME WAS REFRED TO ME BY ARLINGTON MEMORIAL HOSPITAL AND I USED THEM FOR MY BELOVED SON JAMES DAVID LENAHAN JR WHOM PASSED AWAY ON JANUARY 27, 2017@ 1:14 PM I CHOOSE THIS FURNERAL HOME BECAUSE I WAS TOLD THAT THEY TRULY CARED ABOUT OUR LOVED ONES. THIS FUNERAL HOME HAS DONE NOTHING BUT MAKE EXCUSES FOR WHEN MY SON WOULD BE CREAMATED TAKING TWO WEEKS TO THE DAY TO GET HIM HOME I HAVE NEVER BEEN AND FELT SO MUCH DISRESPECTED AND MY SON HAS BEEN UNBELIEVABLY DISRESPED. THE ONLY WAY I WAS ABLE TO RECEIVE MY SONS REMAINS TODAY IS BECAUSE THE CREAMATED DELIVERY PERSON BROUGHT HIM TO MY HOME PERSONALLY MY SONS REMAINS WERE SURPOSE TO COME BACK IN A URN PLUS I DELIVERED A PERSONAL URN BUT YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE WHAT MY SONS REMAINS CAME HOME IN, A CARDBOARD BOX SIZE 9 X7 X5 DEEP. I CAN NOT BELIEVE THE FUNERAL HOME DID NOT SAY SOMETHING TO ME ABOUT WHAT TO EXPECT, NO KIND OF WORD. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY MY SON IS IN A DAMN BOX WHEN HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN AT LEAST THE URN WE PAID FOR THROUGH THIS COMPANY OR EVEN THE PERSONAL URN THAT I GAVE THEM ON JANUARY 30, 2017 WHEN I WENT TO MAKE ARRANGEMENTS. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS FURNERAL HOME FOR ANY FAMILIES LOVED ONES BECAUSE THE PEOPLE HAVE CONTINUED TO MAKE NOTHING BUT EXCUSES AND BLAME OTHERS FOR THEIR OWN MISTAKES THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT RESPECT, RESPONSIBLY, AND THE TRUTH IS .THEY DO NOT FOLLOW THROUGH WITH THERE WORD AT ALL DO NOT USE THIS FUNERAL HOME IF YOU WHAT THE TRUTH.

I can not and will not ever recommend this place to anyone for funeral services. This company did not live up to their services that were paid in advance. My brother in law passed away and after paying they said it would take a few days for the service to be performed and the ashes to be delivered. Not only did they not deliver the ashes, the crematorium had to deliver them because they stated they had communication issues with this place. To top everything off, they "Lost the urn" that the family provided them and never lived up to a single word they said they would. I am truly disappointed to say the least and strongly advise against this place for anyone looking to have a loved one taken care of. The only service this company provided was taking my money quickly. Please do not go here

Vincent was amazing! Ive always had reservations about funeral directors and the staff. Angle Hills continue to do what God chose you to do. I was very pleased with your work and the service you provided of Tamerica L. Jones, she looked amazing and peaceful. The final walk as Vincent placed the tiara on her head left me speechless. My God what an amazing way to depart this great big place traveling to glory. I thank God for knowing Tammy, but to know the amazing job Angle Hills Funeral home provides is a blessing. Only good things to the entire team. May God continue to be with each and all of you. Thanks on behalf of all of her friends near and dear...

We found the most compassionate care and trust with Angel Hills. The only problem we had was not with them, it was a problem at the hospital getting the physician to sign the death certificate. They treated my family with the utmost respect and helped us get the hospital to do their part. We are happy with the services they provided and would use them again if/when the need arises. Lonnie and Dee Dee were very professional. Thank you....

After a sudden and unexpected loss, we contacted Angel Hills. I was pleasantly surprised with their fast response to my after-hours call. Everyone with whom we dealt was professional, caring, respectful, thoughtful, and made a difficult situation more bearable. As much as I hope to never need their services again, if it is necessary, I will not hesitate to call.

They were very kind and compassionate towards my family, and worked very hard to meet our time limits on the service for our father. We couldnt have chosen a better funeral home in this stressful time. Our whole family thanks everyone of you so much for everything you done! You are very special people.

Lonnie and his staff are great. They are very respectful and helpful through the entire process. Ive gotten to know Lonnie a little bit and he is very genuine and honest funeral director. He seems to do everything he can to work with families and ensure that their needs are met during loss.
