This is a home-style food place. The owner and his son run it, and have it covered in interesting memorabilia. There is bar seating and a large table, so you might have to get friendly with other customers. The owner is very friendly and gets to know his customers. The food is $8 for a entree and 2 sides, portions decrease or increase instead of the price, which is nice! So you can get a somewhat small salmon fillet, or you could get a big pile of tamale pie (which Im eating right now and its amazing!). He generally has vegetarian (maybe vegan?) options and all sides are vegetarian. Desserts are good too and come from a local baker every day. Usually pecan and cherry pie plus a rotating selection. Hes always concerned about quality and asks how the food tastes every time. So, essentially, its like having a honest to god home cooked meal, and is nice for students from out of town who might miss that. Affordable, great cozy atmosphere, and pretty dang good food!

Craig had the place open on Labor Day and thank goodness he did! My son and I stumbled upon this great place and it instantly became "our spot." The food was beyond delicious and the quantity was generous, yet price was very reasonable. My son is a chicken fried steak love and he said it was the most tender and one of his favorites. My lunch was a delicious chopped sirloin with fantastic green beans and a fruit salad that was out of this world. I am going back to "our spot" every time I am in Austin.

I love this place. Hands down my very favorite meatloaf. If you want something affordable, homemade and delicious - this is the place for you. This is good old home cooked goodness served with the biggest smile and an amazing attitude. I moved away and make it a point to come back whenever I get a chance. Love the seasoning on the asparagus and the chicken fried steak. This food is hands down spectacular. Dont forget to try the pecan pie!! <3 There is always a smile on the owners face.

Craig does his part to keep Austin weird. His cafe serves up home-style meals (like meat loaf and king ranch chicken casserole) along with unexpectedly delicious options (like fruit salad with basil). He also sells records and keeps a classic film playing at all times. The cafe is eclectically decorated with what feels like decades of witty goodness. You can get an entree and two sides for under $9. Served with your choice of either conversation or brain teaser games.

A fun, eclectic atmosphere where you feel as if someone is welcoming you into their home for a home cooked meal. Craig always has a plethora of fresh options available for those looking to eat healthy or looking to indulge and its always at a great price. You can fill up on an entrée and two sides for a modest $8. I would highly recommend this place both for the food and the atmosphere.

The style of this place is true home style cooking. Every day the chef/owner prepares new delicious entrees and sides. You just point and tell them what you want. There are always great options too. My favorites are the stuffed bell peppers and the curry chicken. Two sides and entree for 8 dollars, and its a lot of food! Really friendly service always makes me happy to come back.

Quality home-cooked food every time. Ive been coming here at least once a week for the past few months, and Craig consistently has great options. Hes friendly and has a pretty unique setup that is perfectly suited for Austin. $8 for a main dish and two sides, which gives you plenty of food. Some of my favorites are the chicken parmesan, meatloaf, polenta, and the tortellini.

So many good choices at GoGo. My favorites are the asparagus, polenta, salad (avocado dressing) and all the fish. Tried the catfish today. Oh. My. God. Definitively the best catfish Ive ever had. I also love the fruit pies and iced tea. Ive literally eaten here dozens of times and have never had a bad meal. Lots of vegan choices too with zero pretention.

Ive been coming here since I moved to Austin. My office is close by. I havent found anywhere around the campus of UT where you can find food this good. The prices are more than reasonable. Craig and Edgar always greet you by name and make you feel like youre home.

Very eclectic place, maybe not for the OCD or clean freaks among us but the food is well made and tasty. It is probably the healthiest option around the campus and a great deal ($8 for an entree and 2 sides). The owner is very nice, gracious and accomodating.
