The Cheesecake Factory is my absolute favorite so you can imagine my excitement when one opened inside the Barton Creek Mall which is only about 15-20 minutes from me. My excitement continued at the servers excellent attitude and upbeat personality as well as the delicious foods we ordered. But my excitement ended there. We paid our bill and walked out of the restaurant only to have the server come back out as we were walking away telling us that he picked up the folders only one of them was empty (we had separate checks). The others I was with and I all knew that we had sat money inside the servers folder. The server argued so we asked for a manager at which we were rudely treated. We then asked for the restaurant manager where we asked if they had cameras at which they said they do. We asked them to view those cameras and the manager told us he couldnt do that it was done by corporation. We asked them to get corporate on the phone and have them view the cameras. The manager then proceeded to tell us that they couldnt do that and it would have to be done within a 24-48 hr time period and even then the cameras arent meant for watching over peoples tables and they may not capture where we were sitting. The other person in our party paid the $40 but when we argued that if theres no proof of wrong doing on our part and theres no proof that the server didnt pocket the money (as it was right before Christmas after all) then why should I have to pay an additional $40? The manager rudely proclaimed that the food had to be paid for somehow and that it was our responsibility and in the many years hes been a restaurant manager hes never had anyone walk out on a bill or a server pocket the cash. When I pointed out that any number of things couldve happened from the server pocketing the cash or another guest grabbing the cash as they walked by the table the manager began to talk to us like we were teenagers asking us what exactly we thought may have happened to the money and explained he would open up an investigation. We ended there and just a day or so ago I was left a voicemail by corporate saying that the purpose of the cameras arent to view guest tables and he couldnt really see whether or not we paid our bill or the server pocketed the money or something else. He said the cameras dont view that area entirely and hes unable to give us the refund of at least the extra $40 we paid. That was my other friends social security money he was using to buy Christmas gifts for his grandchildren that the restaurant so happily took. So I gave the $40 back but I must warn all those thinking of going to this Cheesecake Factory. Be very weary paying with cash. I hope no one else has had or does have this same issue but still use caution at this restaurant and dont expect to be treated with any kind of respect or dignity when speaking to the managers about a problem. They were nothing but arrogant and rude and unapologetic for any inconveniences. The other Cheesecake Factory in Austin is a much better one to go to and for me, well worth the extra drive time as Im treated as a guest should be, Ive never had any issues with payment of food, the servers, or the overall experience of the other Austin location. The managers (whom Ive spoke with on numerous occasions to praise their staffs exceptional service) are all very friendly, warm and inviting. So travel the extra mileage for an overall better dining experience. The one at Barton Creek is more than disappointing.

Vegans beware!! We eat at the Cheesecake Factory in Houston and have always had a great experience. This location is way different. We arrived at 2:28, so it was not crowded at all. We ordered our food with edamame as an appetizer. After 37 minutes our server came by and said their computers were down for a few minutes and our order apparently did not go to the kitchen. She said she would bring us bread to hold us over. Since two of us are vegan, we asked her to bring olive oil instead of butter. She said no problem, but never brought it. After another 15 minutes we finally got our Edamame. Then after waiting 12 more minutes two of our people received their pasta dishes. They tried to wait, but after 10 more minutes, we told them to eat without us. 5 minutes later, those of us who ordered burgers finally got our meals. If that wasnt bad enough the Vegan vegetable burger which was ordered dry with mustard on the side was served fully loaded and covered with mayonnaise. We waited 17 more minutes and never saw our server. My vegan friend felt his only option was to scrape off the mayonnaise and eat his burger with ketchup. When I finally saw our server I told her about the problem with the food. She already knew how long we waited, then she got defensive asking if we had a problem with her. I told her no, but if she had too many tables she needed to tell her manager. Instead she sent the manager over to our table, and while cleaning the table dropped a bunch of Ketchup on my friends pants. The manager came over and said sorry, but. It he didnt seem to care about putting a Vegan through the delima of eating animal products. We now wonder if the pasta that was ordered without butter, actually had butter in it. We are lucky this wasnt a food allergy, or we would have ended up in the hospital. We are so disappointed.

I love me some Cheesecake Factory, but this one must be missing the mark for being attached to the mall. So parking would be terrible if you are trying to come here just for dinner, since they are located next to the movie theater in the mall. I only come here when Im already in the mall but there are other better options so in reality I only come here when other people in the group want to go here. The North Austin location is hands down much better. The service here is hit or miss, I guess they dont really care as much Im not quite sure, and the food always has a problem. Maybe their oven is too hot? But everything is always burnt. The bread is hard as a rock and burnt, the biscuits on the chicken and biscuits were like hockey pucks. The price isnt cheap so for the price you are paying and the giant portions of sub par food, Id say your better off eating in the food court. But the cheesecakes are probably still a solid decision, since none of it is actually made on site, but I cant say for sure this location hasnt some how messed it up, since by the time its dessert Im over the entire experience.

This was by far the worst experience we have ever had at a restaurant. We waited for over 40 minutes before our waiter finally came over and stated that there was an error in the kitchen. He stated our food was just now being prepared even though the ticket was placed over 40 minutes ago. He mentioned how sorry he was and had told us that a manager would be coming over to speak with us. Another 15 minutes went by with NO FOOD AND NO MANAGER. The waiter came back again and realized that a manager had not stopped by yet. He went to get another manager. 15 minutes later, now going on an hour and ten minutes, still no manager and food. My fiance finally went inside and asked for a manager directly. 5 minutes later a very insincere women came to our table with only one of our two dishes to apologize for the wait. She was extremely fake about her apologize and did not seem like she had the time to deal with the issue. All in all, we ended up leaving with no food after all that. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!
