A friend suggested this place; I had been here once before and ate on the patio. It was a wonderful experience. this morning I showed up and there were open carry not-allowed signs posted, so as a law abiding Texan I cant open carry which is fine, I put my open carry away and proceeded to go on to the patio. It turns out not only is the patio non smoking which is wonderful, but NO pets allowed which is not. My friend went inside, explained we had come a long distance to experience their wonderful food but she was turned away and told simply that they would update their website to specify dogs not allowed. So instead were taking the dog to a dog friendly breakfast somewhere else. Black Walnut food is good but the attitude is bad... so one star, remember were in Texas we have dogs and we have guns -- the gun I can leave behind. NOT leaving the dog behind.

Very disappointed with the speediness of service. I called in my order at 6:30 and was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. When, I arrived at the restaurant at 6:55, I was told it was not ready. I waited an additional 7 minutes. I then asked the cashier what time my order would be ready, she replied with a "quick unfriendly" we are working as fast as we can. I told her, I needed my money back because I was late for work. She and another man (im assuming was the manager because he was wearing blue) ignored me. After, an additional 4 more minutes, he threw my food in the (area where they place the food when it is ready to be bagged) and she told me it was ready. I was livid. No apologies were offered or anything!!!!

My husband and I went on a Sunday evening, it was not busy at all. The food was good but the service was awful.. I wanted a drink, so I went over to the bar and stood there waiting while 3 employees talked/ joked around at the counter. They each looked over and saw me standing there but didnt ask if I needed assistance nor did they offer to help. I just stood there and we looked at each other until I gave up and went back to my booth. Another couple came in and the lady from the counter promptly went to the bar to assist them. Not sure what wed done to deserve that kind of treatment but that was crappy.

3rd visit. 1st time was pretty good. Went back and it was a little shaky but ok. 3rd visit horrible. They messed up order on a burger. We sent it back and the rest of of entire party had finished their meals. Still no burger. Went back to counter stood, inquired, stood. Still no burger. We finally said forget ot and they offered potato soup to go. 10 minutes later still no soup. Finally we all walked put and 1 member of our party left without a bite. No sense of urgancy. Place is basically self serve and they are STILL under staffed. WILL NEVER GO BACK. DODGE THIS PLACE.

Ive been here a few different times. If you come during regular breakfast or lunch hours it will be very busy, but Ive also been here once for a late lunch and there was almost no one in there. Every time I was blown away by the food, whether it was the Chicken and Waffles or their Sirloin Steak. This is the best breakfast spot Ive ever been to, closely beating out a long time favorite of mine in Houston. One of my last visits I tried their raspberry gelato and it was amazing as well. The service here is also great and efficient, no complaints!

My friend and I ate here for the 2nd time. She ordered chicken fingers and I ordered lobster tacos. I really liked the side Caesar salad with my tacos. Not a flavor combination I would have chosen but it paired well. My tacos were quite good, flavorful and good temp. Chicken fingers were also good. It was a large serving with fries so my friend was able to take some home. We had one substitution which was handled effortlessly. Staff was attentive, friendly and most helpful with clearing plates and overall guest accommodations.

Omg. Im speechless. The pasta, I got the otis otis otis pasta... Omg... did I say that already?!?!?! The food here is amazing!!!! The environment, everything. Everyone was nice. Its confusing because youre supposed to tip, but its a prepay service, and the server never comes back after that. You get everything on your own so it doesnt make a lot of sense to tip. So idk. Do as you wish but DANG the food is good lol. Go! Listen to the voice contemplating in your head and GO!

This is a tough restaurant to review. The food is above average and the ambiance is good however in my experience the servings and customer service can be spotty. I ordered the fish tacos and was told there were three. Only two arrived and I was told by the manager that two was the correct amount. My perception is that the fish servings on the two were rather stingy. I wouldnt mind paying more to get more...

Horrible service, cold under cooked food and bartenders didnt even acknowledge us when both me and my friend walked up twice to get mimosas. No greating or acknowledgement from the expo kid. Buser blatantly walked by looked at our empty plates turned and walked away. When I placed them on another table on his second turn he looked at them and walked by. Never coming back.

The Chicken n Waffles was awesome. Especially with the mango habanero sauce over the chicken and the maple syrup on the pancakes, and with orange juice for a drink, the meal satisfied all my flavor profile needs - hot, sweet, tangy. And in a very tasty way. My wife loved her Eggs Benedict - she has had them in many places but she says this place makes them like none other.

We went for breakfast. The food was cool by the time they called us up. It gets a 5 for the atmosphere and coffee, but I was very disappointed in the temp of our food... dont see how they would fix that since their prep area isnt heated. Also, their house potatoes dont taste fresh and werent hot. Disappointed with their breakfast, but would like to try their lunch/dinner

Great place. Good food. Beautiful atmosphere!! Love this place. Always fresh food. You can order variety of items from there long menu. Lunch time is mostly packed. You come in and order your food. Find a seat. Then you go pick up your food when it is ready. If you like to drink, they have a full bar with all choices. If you are a lover of Gelato

Went here for the first time for breakfast & was impressed when I first walked in. Nice place, clean and casual. But..... I waited for a long time for my food to find out it was mistakenly given to another person. The food wasnt that great. I had better tasting food at IHOP & I dont like IHOP. If I try this place again it wont be for breakfast.

I used to really love this place, but the weekend service has gotten bad. One time after waiting 40 minutes my husband and I cancelled our order. The manager didnt issue an apology. He didnt seem like he cared about dissatisfied customers. A month later we tried giving this place another chance. We ordered takeout and were dissatisfied.
