For my fiancé’s birthday I decided to give her dance lessons in preparation for our upcoming wedding. I started researching online to find somewhere to sign up for classes and came across the website for Ballroom Surge. I called and left a message that I was looking for help on how to proceed. Gilda called me right back, she asked what I was looking for and what the song was for our first dance. I decided to buy a package for a couple of 45 minute dance lessons. The first time we showed up Gilda was prepared with our song already downloaded. Myself being a novice in the way of ballroom dancing, Gilda made me feel very comfortable and quickly put my nerves at ease. After seeing how much enjoyment my fiancé and I got from the first two dance classes, we continued to go in for a 45 minute class every month. Gilda taught us a Rhumba for our first dance at our wedding. We also asked her to give us a lesson on Polka that we wanted to include at our reception as well. I’m very happy that we decided to go to Ballroom Surge. I feel comfortable that we will have an elegant and memorable first dance. I’m really glad we don’t have to resort to the 7th grade slow dance! For my fiancé it’s been the birthday gift that keeps on giving. Not only has it been a very enjoyable extracurricular activity for both of us, but for me I love seeing her smile every time we go in there and dance. Thank you Gilda!

I have been taking lesson at Ballroom Surge for several months now. It has been a good experience. It has been helping me a lot to know more types of styles of dance then the swaying back and forth or randomly faking steps that may look a little off beat like many guys tend to just know. The dance styles have been from classic Ballroom to country or club line dancing so far. My instructor Gilda, has been working me through my paces, adjusting routines based on how fast or slow she thinks I can handle it. Another good part that I have really been enjoying is the studios song selection brings the classical steps to more modern songs. For example, I learned a Rumba routing to Coldplay, and I am now learning a combination of Foxtrot and West Coast swing to an acoustic version of a Michael Jackson song. It is definitely worth stopping in, trying a lesson, and seeing where you would like to go from there.

We found Ballroom Surge via groupon and, at first, I was a little hesitant about it- I didnt think wed be able to really get our value out of short sessions, even if they were one on one. But I was blown away by how quickly our instructor worked out a plan for our dance and how capably she taught us the movements- we went from absolute novices to actually looking like we knew what we were doing in only a handful of sessions. Id recommend Ballroom Surge to anyone who wants to learn to dance, especially if they want something flashy for a wedding or similar function. Im definitely going to come back to learn more after my honeymoon.

We are currently taking dance lessons with Gilda for our wedding in just two short weeks! We have had so much fun and learned a lot the last two months! Gilda is amazing at explaining and showing you how to learn the steps, glide gracefully and making the dance your own! Week one she gave us the first few counts of our dance and each week we reviewed and added another piece. She is so patient with us, an excellent teacher and she makes us feel so confident!! My husband and I used to dance together but in the last few years, weve been all about our jobs. To be honest, we found them not because of stellar reviews or driving past their studio but because of a super discount from Groupon. Matter of fact, their studio is hard to find at first since its located in the back of the gallery section opposite of meddlesome moth. All that said, Gilda and Caleb were extremely welcoming and made us feel at ease, their teaching was easy to digest and memorable. They made learning fun and encouraged us when we struggled. We hope to become regular visitors and that they stay for awhile!

This venue was PERFECT for my wifes surprise party. Not only was the price right but the venue was spacious and had a huge dance floor. The lighting made for a nice lounge setting. Gilda gave me all the details and did 2 meetings to discuss the night, table arrangements etc. She was easy to contact, no hidden fees. I was allowed to bring in my own DJ, food and bartender. Even during the event her employee helped me moved chairs and was very attentive. There was no hesitation in booking this venue. I will definitely use Ballroom Surge again! Dray Williams

We took dance lessons with Gilda to prepare for our upcoming wedding dance. Gilda has been the best instructor we could have wished for. She came up with a routine that matched our skills of complete novices but at the same time was fun and unique. I have been taking lessons from Gilda for 9 months or so. I had never taken a dance lesson and for the most part had two left feet. Not only have I learned the dance steps, but my footwork, balance and poise are so much improved. Whats so unique about Gilda is her intuition in learning how you think and learn, so that she can adapt her approach and style to best match what resonates with you personally. Dance has become the highlight of my week. Not only am I learning, but were having so much fun as well.
