At 40 years old I couldn’t dance a lick, and I mean a lick. I had not even tried to dance in over 20 years. However, my wife had always wanted me to dance with her. So… as a birthday gift for her. I contacted The Art of Dance just over a year ago. We took a couple of private lessons, followed up with a group session. We found the lessons to be very enjoyable. In fact; and much to my surprise, I actually looked forward to the next lesson week after week. Although it was only for an hour or so, it gave us some time away from the house and kids. I have absolutely no rhythm, couldn’t dance my way out of a wet paper sack to save my life. Honest truth is; I didn’t have high expectations of actually learning to dance. My plan was to just go through the motions. While I doubt that I’ll be competing in any dance contest. I have learned to dance well enough to make an evening of it. If you want to learn how to dance, I highly recommend this studio. I’m telling you, if they can teach me. They can teach anyone how to dance.

I was new to the area and looking for a way to meet people, but am not a big fan of bars or clubs. I was walking the square about 2 years ago when I happened upon The Art of Dance and thought that perhaps they might be my answer. I was a little nervous about that first class and was afraid I would feel uncomfortable dancing in front of and with people I didnt know. Thankfully, the instructors are amazing and I felt at ease right away. They really know their stuff, and the classes are so much fun! (Kathleen is particularly awesome!) And along the way Ive met some really cool people. Thanks to The Art of Dance, McKinney finally feels like home.

The Art of Dance has put an extra spark in my marriage. My husband & I drive from Sherman Texas every Thursday night to take Ball Room dance from Kathleen at The Art of Dance Studio in McKinney. We have been doing this for 2 years now & we love it. Yes we could take lessons closer to home, but The Art of Dance is the where we choose to go. Why? Because the owner Kathleen has a true gift of teaching & she makes it fun ! The lessons , the owner & all the friends we have met there over the last 2 years, has truly enriched our marriage. After 18 years of marriage we finally REALLY dance together. It feels GREAT !

The Art of Dance Studio is a wonderful place for all levels of dancers. It is a very friendly environment. Dances taught range from country two step to waltz, foxtrot, tango, cha cha, rumba and more. There are even zumba classes if you like to get your aerobic exercise though Latin dancing. Kathleen and Michael are willing to work on whatever level you want - from learning just the basics to social dancing to competitive dancing. The group classes are a great way to meet other people that like to dance.

I have really enjoyed my association with the Art of Dance. Good for all levels and goals, from beginner/ social dancer to Teacher Training. Relaxed, nurturing environment for beginners. Solid technical training for the more advanced dancer and those striving for excellence in dance. Qualified instructors. Great location.

The Art of Dance studio is a great place for people of all levels and experience to come and enjoy the benefits of learning Ballroom Dance. Best part is no partner required so great place for singles to come learn as well. Awesome teachers, great environment, and wonderful location!

Two years ago I decided I wanted to learn to dance. With my two left feet I walked in the front door at The Art Of Dance and began. The instructors are extremely encouraging, and positive. They will help you find your place on the dance floor.
