Well..Tuppys went and did it. They moved from a well know Far North Dallas location to a location in Lower North Dallas that is very hard to get off Central Expressway. Let me breakdown the other issues that left me and my Posse disappointed at Tuppys change. Parking- Not nearly enough space for the size of the new locations. Noise Level - They made the same mistake as most restaurants make with using cement floors. The noise level made it a impossible to talk to the person next to you..and the place was not even full. Seating - People like booths and Tuppy does not have enough..they didnt have enough at the preferred location either, so it would make since they put more in at the new location. I am all for CHANGE, but not for change sake..Change for the better was what I was hoping for...but the Change Tuppy made just is not cutting it for one of their long time Fans. Guess Ill find another watering hole for my margaritas.

Seldom do I give a restaurant five stars. On this occasion I experienced what I deem to be well-executed, classic Dallas Tex-Mex. I grew up and lived in Dallas for fifty years. I made routine pilgrimages to Joe T. Garcias and ate countless times at places like El Fenix, Ojedas, Mercado Juarez and numerous hole-in-the-wall places where speaking some Spanish was virtually required. The chile relleno was perfect; I had it with beef. It was well-seasoned and the battered exterior was thin and light. The enchiladas were made with good cheese and even the lowly charra pinto beans were excellent with lots of jalapeno and onion. The guacamole is a light, creamy variety with lots of raw sweet onion. Service was excellent. We were a party of eight. While everyone has their own take on what constitutes good Tex-Mex, I cannot imagine you being disappointed.

Recently moved to Dallas, Im on the hunt for the perfect Mexican food. This place was just okay. The chips and salsa were good, as well as the beans and rice. Salsa was a bit runny for my taste. My fiancé ordered then chicken fajitas ($15)and they came out looking like they do from Chilis or Applebees. An extra $1.50 for rice. They also did not come with cheese, so that was an extra $2. My sour cream chicken enchilada were just okay as well. Lots of chicken, but skimpy on the sauce. The meat overpowered the sauce. I ordered a Tupy taco and I have to admit, the guy that equated them to Jack in the Box taxis had it right, but just had a little more meat.

My family has been coming to Tupys for years and the service, quality and delicious menu are consistent and never disappoint. You know a place is good when they are packed for lunch and dinner with regulars who have been coming for years. Tupys is family owned and many of the family members are still working in the restaurant, especially at lunch. A quality place that everyone enjoys. Tupy Tacos are definitely a menu favorite, you cant find anything similar in the Dallas area. My favorite Mexican restaurant in Dallas!

Meh comes to mind, Typical Gringo Texmex food. Got the 12man stake, it was cook as I asked... they are 3 reasons why its not top mexican place ... 1. The tortillas are not home made( the tortilla in mexican food enhances the flavors ) 2. The slasas they only had one chip salsa and Tabasco (I understand why most of the customers there are old people cant handle the heat or the spice ) 3 the queso ...( queso should be melted mozzarella or Oaxaca chees with some chorizo on top) other than that the service was 5 stars

I have been to Tupinamba twice now... both times at the new location in Preston Hollow. The service is always good and the decor is very nice and clean. My issue is with the food. Maybe I dont know what to order.. but the Tippy Tacos are not it. They are honestly only slightly better than Jack in the Box 2 for a $1 tacos except you get 3 and a lettuce salad for close to $12. IF I go back and that is a big IF, I will try something different and will update this review

Just went here today. Great atmosphere. This location is definitely their high end restaurant due to the design and decor. Staff is nice but not overly attentive where you cant enjoy your meal. Complimentary chips and salsa are good. Meal was great. Everything tasted fresh. Will be coming to this location more often for lunch and dinner.

When my Travel Agency books clients through Dallas, I alway suggest "Tupies" as a "Must stop" for the "Real" thing in Mexican food. And - as I have said in other blogs - if you do not like it, I will allow you to buy me a Magarita. They will move in November, so be sure to check their web-page to confirm location.

Great food and you get plenty of it. Best Margarita(s) in Town, absolutely no doubt. We travel from West Irving for it. Been doing that since they were near Bachman Lake. Service is always good. Tough to find a parking space at new location, but that never stops us. Youll be glad you went and youll go back again.

I could go here every day. The Tupy Tacos are the bomb. I feel like the salad they bring with it is a little strange and feels food truckish but other than that I was completely satisfied. The chips and salsa are great too. Love the new location but miss the old one! Grab a friend and go!

Parking is a nightmare, but worth it. The staff is great and the food is excellent. The Pollo Diablo (an off-menu spicy chicken) and Pollo Verde are worth a try. Tex-Mex staples like enchiladas, tortilla soup, and fajitas are great. Try the sopapilla for dessert.

Wow! I must try this restaurant out. It once had the best Tex-Mex food Id ever eaten. My mom worked for this restaurant when it was located on Ft. Worth Ave and on 635. Of course , that was some 30 years ago. Mr&mrd Domingues loved her very much

Delicious food and a pleasant atmosphere. The queso and chips were so good that I almost didnt leave room for my main order. Parking is horrible at peak hours, but thats no fault of this establishment; its just a poorly designed shopping center.

We have been going to Tupinambas for over 15 years. Got to know Eddie(owner) and his son. Very low turnover on staff makes it comfortable that we will be taken care of. Same quality of food they know their niche.
