Ive been training here for about six months and love it. The owner, Sean Sparks, is a great coach and very approachable. Everyday I go in hes there to coach me in things Im terrible at or dont know, but when I already know what to do he lets me just go do it. There isnt a lot of fancy equipment at Crossfit; mostly various toys, like: barbells, medicine balls, rowers, kettlebells, and pullup bars. I say toys because I really have fun using this equipment. Strange maybe, but theres nothing interesting to me about using a giant 800-lb steel contraption to do a bicep curl. I prefer picking up heavy objects and throwing stuff. It was difficult at first and the workouts were brutal. More than once I found myself more sore than I thought possible. After a few months I started getting use to the exercises and could focus on pushing myself harder, and now Im getting stronger than Ive ever been before. The workouts are still brutal, and theyre supposed to be, but now I feel like I can navigate the day without feeling lost. Every time I go in it seems Im beating a personal record. Im a guy who thought he was in decent shape before joining, but I now know how much healthier and stronger I can become. Everyday is different too. We repeat a workout after some time to see if we have improved, but everyday is unique and original. I have never gotten bored here. Crossfits genius isnt just in the workouts either; its the Crossfit community. It really feels like you become a part of something; like a private club. Everyone there knows one another and we all socialize until its time to get to work. Sean Sparks also coordinates events so that we can get to know each other better. The main website is a wealth of useful knowledge of anything related to health. Every day videos and articles are posted that give new insight into what we are doing. The videos of coaches and athletes are informative and extremely motivating. If you want to get in the best shape imaginable and dont mind a lot of sweat, give it a shot. Youll get hooked just like everyone else thats walked through those doors have. Crossfit is what exercise is really about. I will NEVER have a membership to a traditional style open-all-hours globo-gym again. peace Brent

Crossfit NTX ROCKS!! I joined on a whim because I was burned out on the regular old gym workouts but it has become a life changing decision for me, fitness-wise. Sean Sparks, the owner and Blake Burleson the other coach are both amazing, kind and incredibly knowledgeable and will walk you through each step of the workouts every day until you feel comfortable with the crossfit moves on your own. You never have to wander aimlessly throughout the gym wondering what to work on...the workouts are prepared for you with an incredible mix of cardio, flexibility and strength training that you will never find boring. Trust me, its addicting and I would recommend it for persons of all shapes and sizes and fitness levels. Have fun!!! Char

Ive been to a number of different boxes over the years, and CrossFit Denton is the best one Ive ever worked out in. John and Kalah run a fantastic gym - they care deeply about what they do and it shows. The facility is well maintained, the WODs are well-planned, and most importantly, they have a culture of safety thats ingrained into all of the coaches. They understand the movements well, and know when to push people harder and when to make them back off a bit - this may not seem like much but its so important in CrossFit where there can be serious consequences from pushing too hard at the wrong time. Im not going at the moment because of my work schedule, but Ill be back in the box as soon as Im able to.

I have been doing crossfit in Seattle with Dave Werner for four years and wanted to keep up the regular pattern while visiting in Keller TX. It was an intense and challenging workout from beginning to end. Even some new routines on the rower that I found very intense. Sean Sparks was knowledgeable and gave good feedback, so that I was aware of improving my form with each movement. I always feel exhilerated at the end of a crossfit workout and I felt that way today too. I will be back again during this week of visiting family.

I went to the community work out of the day which they host for free every Saturday. The coaches where knowledgeable and friendly. You were never told to push harder than you needed to and everyone was supportive of each other going through the workout. This place beings positive vibes and also gives you an extensive workout to do. All of us were soaked in sweat by the end of it. If you are skeptical at all, they do free workouts every week and everyone is different. Try it out!

John is a fantastic coach and owner; I did the groupon for a month, and this crossfit Box is all about your safety and well-being. Ive been to a few boxes where the "trainer" is there to clock in and clock out, but health and fitness is a way of life for John. If youre looking for a great Box, start here.

I have experienced more motivation and sense of community at Crossfit NTX than anywhere I have ever worked out before. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to overcome the couch and improve themselves both mentally and physically.
