This place is by far my favorite Pakistani restaurant in Houston! From the people to the food, its all top notch! Bismillah is as close to home cooking as you can get without actually being in a home kitchen. So lets get this review started, shall we? *Breakfast. The fried eggs with keema with a paratha is the way kings start thier day. *Breakfast. The Omelet with a paratha transports you to any Pakistani household on a Sunday morning with spices that will set your bung hole on fire. *Weekend breakfast. The channa puri, a staple and a luxury for every pakistani household for Sunday brunch. The channa curry is spicy and greasy. And the puri are also greasy to sop up all the goodness of this royalness. *Lunch/Dinner. The beef nihari. Gorgeous chunks of tender beef in a spicy, velvety rich and spicy curry. Obviously must be eaten with roti. My favorite. *Lunch/Dinner. The tawa chicken. Boneless chicken breast chunks sautéed with fresh chopped veggies. Can be ordered fairly mild. Still spicy as frack. Lunch/Dinner. Boneless chicken masala is a curried chicken dish with a spicy tomato based curry thats full of flavor and is especially enjoyable with a paratha or two. Or three. The dining room is cozy. Which means if its busy, youre sitting close to a lot of people who do tend to stare if youre NOT brown. I know. Kinda creepy but the food is amazing so who cares? If youre in the southwest area and have never been to a Pakistani restaurant or wanna try some amazing pakistani food, come to Bismillah and you will NOT be disappointed.

This was our eighth visit to this place over the last five years, but also our last. The food quality has gone down considerably, but prices are up. The food quantity is also down significantly. Above all, the owners have lost conscience due to greed. We ordered some fried eggs - each serving has two eggs. They said that it comes with a paratha, which we said we did not need. We understood that they would deduct the price of the paratha. But they still charged us $4.99 for two eggs. Talk about greed!!! Since we have kids, we routinely make this kinds of adjustments in places like Dennys, and even at Indian restaurants, with appropriate price adjustments applied by the restaurants. But not this place! Prices and quantity both are bad here. A $10 breakfast combo would not fill a healthy stomach. There are many places around there that are a lot more reasonable in prices and attitude. BTW, I think some of the positive review are fakes. Most of them do not present details of any kind. -

I dont even wanna give one star to this restaurant but I will have to as my comment wont go through , rude honor, different price charging than on the menu, extremely extremely spicy food, I am an Asian and our stomachs are usually spice tolerable but this restaurant food is over flooded with spices enough to poke your stomach with Peptic ulcer disease. No kiddin.. this resturant should be banned. Try their Nihari and you will know what am talking about. No cleanliness there and prices sky high. My last visit- no going next time. They charge you extra to 2$ to pay for a sauce, first they dont include in with food, if you ask them they charge you extra. Owner rin in his own prices and one i asked him how much he charged me for nihari- 15 $ Jeezz. WASTE OF MONEY, UNHEALTHY, UNHYGINEIC. i will report Food dep. to ban them from adding extreme spices a cause of stomach ulcer

Great place! I usually go for their grilled items but there are several great things on their menu. I love spicy food and their food is just the perfect spice for me. Bismillah is great for a day you dont cook and need something that tastes like home food! Their breakfast - halwa puri and paratha is also great! My friends and I come here at least once a month for the breakfast. Friendly staff and clean place. There was a point where we would pick up food, the same exact order at least once a week and I didnt have to give my name and order, they knew exactly what I wanted as soon as they picked up. I would highly recommend trying this place if you havent already done so!!

Ignore the owner and his ill-bred manners, the food experience can otherwise be very rewarding. Price is moderate. Tips: Food is spicy. There is no customization. My favorite is Chicken Biryani (Very fresh chicken on Thu, Fri, Sat). The amount is generous, but if you are unlucky you may get not enough chicken pieces underneath your rice. DO NOT argue with the owner. It will only worsen your day. Enjoy just the food. Goat curry with Paratha is another favorite of my friend Cindy.

Absurdly Overpriced. For the quality and quantity of the food, and the way its served in disposable Styrofoam utensils, and the mundane ambience, this restaurant is way overpriced. Specific example : 1 brain masala is $15.99 and 2 chapatis $1.99 each + tax. I couldnt even taste the brain. Not even a mile away Sheikh Chilli serves tastier brain masala for $8.99 and that includes 1 naan. Also less than a mile away are Laziza and Shahnai Restaurants serving lunch and dinner buffets.

As every time I enter an ethnic restaurant and the menu is difficult to understand, I trust the servers recommendation. At Bismillah our host recommended two different chicken and rice plates which my dining partner and I accepted with great smiles. The portions were huge and delicious! My first time visiting a Pakistani restaurant was here.

This used to be a very good restaurant. Again used to be very good/tasty food. I ate there with my family (7/15/17). The quality has gone down tremendously. The mango shake had no flavor of mango in it. Over all the food tasted mediocre. Very expensive for the quality of food $84 (for dinner of 4).

Great biryani and I havent had any hospitality issues so Id recommend it! I havent tried everything, but most of the items I did try were satisfying each time. This establishment is family run and has been around for a while...there is a reason its doing well - good food always prevails lol

Great place to grab and go. Love how it taste like home cooking. When I crave moms cooking I know I will be heading here. Quality and fast is there way. They greet you when you walk in and always happy to make suggestions to make your meal a one to remember.

Some of items are Delicious like Egg paratha, family owned restaurant. From old to young all of them have attitude issue. They never never smileys face all the times look like proudness. They never accept any complaints, they think they always right.

This is one of my favorite pakistani restaurants in houston. Their food is always good, but the one problem I have is that they charge a pretty penny (which I am willing to pay) but then serve everything on paper plates...

The place is limited. I only tried bunkabab for for takeout but turns out it was way too spicey. I had also tried chat in the past, but their stuff is basically extremely spicy. They have their app, which is kinda cool.
