Our son has been going to Kaleidoscope Daycare for last 8 months and we could not be happier! Ms. Elissa run an incredible daycare full of passion, instruction, and above and beyond care that is not found in many daycares . When he first started daycare at 1.5 years, he was having separation anxiety at another daycare where no one cared about that and tried to manage him by scolding. I moved him here, and OMG, within 4 days he said I want to go to school. Toddler II teachers Ms. Nicollet and Ms. Desiree make him own with love and care. All the teachers know students by name. They go to personal level to meet each childs need (my son was picky eater and they offered him food repeatedly that I sent from home). They did a slow transition to PK2 when he was ready for that class and now he is happy and eager to go to school everyday. Things like going to the park, reading time ,arts and crafts, music goes on everyday. They always arrange monthly fun activities like summer splash, egg hunt, muffin with mom, donuts with dad etc. I have noticed for upper class more serious learning program, field trips are there.3 to 4 balanced meals are provided everyday. They send updates and pictures of kids through Brightwheel app. Such a caring daycare at this price range is really rare in central Houston. I am writing this review only because I am a grateful mom that they handled MY BABY with warmth and care.

One star is over-rated and undeserved. On my 6 week old daughters first day, JAN 7, 2008, I saw her through the window lying face down on the mattress trying to lift her head up; extremely tired and weak after drinking a her milk. She had a loose blanket over her as well. The caretaker (not nearly a title she deserves) told me she cried a lot so she put her on her belly and she slept better. She said she was watching her which was ever worse because first, she wasnt watching her and second, if she was, she damn sure didnt care she was stuck face down. Her little nose had a bright red and white crease in it where shed been smashed against the mattress. I was talked to like I was wrong and ignorant. She completely thought it was justified to lay her like this. In the meantime, another useless caretaker was grinning/smirking at me as if I was foolish for even caring. If I would have witnessed this with any child, I wouldve reacted the same way and been their voice. Its a shame the mother standing in there when I arrived wasnt the voice for mine.. To the woman who thought this was OK - Hold your face into a mattress for a while and see how it feels.. Casey P

My son was here for a little over a year, from 3.5 months old to 16 months old. He had very adoring, caring caretakers in the infant rooms and then on the toddler side although one of them was a bit inexperienced and once panicked me by saying my son had a 108 fever when it was really 100.8. This center is a good value for the cost, very affordable. Staff was diligent in dealing with disease outbreaks and kept parents well informed. I could contact the director by email which was convenient. They did lots of fun activities with the infants and toddlers. Overall I was pleased with his care although there were a few issues. I didnt agree with some of the snack choices for infants (Pop tarts, Rice Krispie treats) and brought my own snacks from home. I noticed high staff turnover in the older kids classes. I heard staff yell at some older kids. And the tv was always on in the afternoons in the multipurpose room where older kids (though some toddlers/preschoolers too) waited to be picked up. (We ended up moving to a daycare closer to home/work.)

Ive had my daughter at this school since she was a little over 1 yrs. The nature of daycare in general is very much a changing one. I have been very grateful for the roll her teachers, assistants, and directors have played in her life. Shes always glad to be there and quite happy when I pick her up. Her language skills have vastly grown in the 10 months shes been in her two year old class. Ms. Elissa and her ladies have done a wonderful job potty training her and keeping my child engaged when she was having some growing pains within her class room. My husband and I were thankful to have a staff aware and on top of her behavior development early instead of letting a problem persist. Its a colorful and engaging environment and they certainly deserve accolades all around for our very positive experience. I only didnt click excellent because I hope for an even better structure for their kids to flourish in. The building they are in is clean, orderly, well maintained, and engaging. I have high hopes they can expand soon.

This place is horrible. The staff is completely clueless about managing daycare. Children who misbehave are given candy and other sweets. Rather than deal with my childs behavior, I was contacted several times per day and week to pick up my child since not enough resources were available to cope with my childs behavior. The director admitted to not having enough staff who are certified/trained to supervise children. On several occasions, my child was no where to be found and/or allowed to wander about the complex and access unsecured areas with little or no supervision. My child was found near the lobby with access to a busy street unsupervised and staff could not answer how my child ended up there. When I spoke to the director regarding these issues, her response was to dismiss my children.

My baby has been at this daycare since she was 3 months old and she is now almost 1. The teachers in the infant and wobbler classes are phenomenal and have developed such an amazing relationship with my daughter. She had fun there every day and she definitely learned and developed a lot! I never had to worry when she was in their care and the communication is great. I always get timely updates on food/bottles, sleep, and diapers. The director, Elissa, is really sweet and reasonable too! Every staff person there knows my daughter by name and greets her each day! We recently moved so I had to pull her out of this daycare which makes me so sad, and we will miss kaleidoscope kids! The price is super reasonable and they will love your kids!

My baby has been here since she was 8 weeks old. She is now 13 months and I have never worried once while she has been here. The teachers at this school go above and beyond every single day. I am given a full report on what her day was like and she is always happy to be dropped off. My child has a dairy allergy and the staff has gone above and beyond to make sure she doesnt even sit near another child who is having dairy. The school also has fun events every month which keeps things exciting. Kaleidoscope, its staff and its infant and wobblers teachers (all the teachers actually) have been a huge blessing in our life.

We had a bad experience at this school 15 years ago. We had 2 kids, one drinking bottles as a baby. We got charts that said they fed him several times during the day, but only one bottle was used... so either they reused that bottle multiple times or they fed him someone elses bottle (both bad options). So, we chose to leave and find another child care center.
