LESSONS LEARNED: Beware of their SCARE TACTICS, incomplete parts listings and estimates! Always get a SECOND OPINION. Situation: Apparently I needed a wheel alignment due to uneven wear on my old tires. So after purchasing all new tires from Discount Tire in Humble (great service, BTW) they recommended me to this Midas for a wheel alignment. I got the alignment however Midas then said that new front struts and rear shocks were still needed. A final wheel alignment after installation of the new struts and shocks would also be required. They quoted me $1600 for all that work so I declined. I took it elsewhere for the new struts and shocks and came back to Midas for the final wheel alignment. Before the final wheel alignment was to done, Scott (Midas manager) consulted with me and claimed that the previous work done (new struts and shocks installed by others) were still missing parts and to get everything aligned properly Midas would still have to install other parts (parts they neglected to tell me about during the struts and shocks phase estimate). Quoted price ($1600+). His attitude throughout this consult was demeaning, condescending, "I told you so and scolding! I didnt appreciate that attitude. Needless to say, I left. Happy to report that I recently got my tires rotated (Discount Tire) and they didnt report any uneven wear on my new tires.

DONT BELIEVE THE HYPE! All the ads and propaganda stating that Midas is honest is a bunch of BULL! At least for this location. I took my truck in the other day for an oil change and I also had a strange noise coming from my engine. Of course it was of concern to and I wanted their honest opinion. The manager tried to sell me in on all these maintenance products and tried scaring me into buying them by telling me that this was a major sign that my engine would give out soon. After some research turns out its a typical minor issue with my vehicle, and all I needed was to use a cleaning additive (which I did) and switch to synthetic oil and a better filter which solved my problem (which by the way they use very cheap Quaker State that you can buy a WalMart for $15 and a no name cheap oil filter). I noticed one of the mechanics was trying to help me in giving me an alternative solution to all the extra things the manager was trying to sell me in on, but the manager was quick to cut him off and change the subject. He even gave him a stare down which Im sure he didnt think I noticed. Needless to say I will not be back. This place is not here for the customers best interest in mind, theyre only out for your pockets. STAY AWAY.

Most car repair shops will sacrifice quality of work so you can get a cheaper price but you SHOULD NOT fall into that trap. You get what you pay for! If you have a mechanic in your family... lucky you! I am speaking on behalf of everyone who seeks for a good/solid shop. Midas has provided me and my family with honesty and respect for over 9 years of service. I am the kind of person who pays attention to his car and notices declines in steering, brakes, etc. I understand that cars need maintenance, especially my 14 year old Honda Accord lol. I always recommend this shop because if you ask upfront how much it costs for a particular service they will gladly let you know (after giving them your make and model). Something I notice other people complaining about is when it comes to oil changes. If you want a longer lasting car, wouldnt you want the best (if not better) oil? Midas has a variety of coupons that are mailed out and located on the back of Kroger receipts. Just ask to speak with a manager if you are curious about pricing, labor, parts, ANYTHING!

These people dont have any fixed price. They access the customer and set the price on the go. I went there last month, as they had 20 dollar discount coupon from discount tires. Those people called miss and I was told that four wheel alignment was 89, so with discount it should be 69. But, the guy after the job showed 140 dollar Bill. When I asked what is happening,he started with all the bullshit, about this being four wheel job and this and that, but my car happens to be two wheel alignment job,i dont need back adjustments,He as lying flat out to extort money from me.Couple of minutes ago,I was asking bunch of questions about the car,and this made him think that I was not that aware of cars and what are the range of prices, but i do have basic knowledge, and this made me catch him on the act.He dont have any resonable excuse, and his angry face could easily show that.I dont know about all the midas,But the one located near humble is rip off.they are literally robbers in uniform.

Had Midas install rear shoes on my truck 4-6 months ago. My parking brake didnt work correctly when I went to use it today so I went to Midas to have it checked out. Manager tells me my drums are past the "service limit" and the passanger side rear shoe was Grinding because its beyond the rivets and destroyed the drum. I asked is this under warranty and he said he was glad to change the shoes but I will have to pay labor to change out the shoes and that I will have to buy new drums. I asked that since the shoes that you provided destroyed my drums then shouldnt you replace my drums? I mean you just installed the shoes not even 6 months ago! Shouldnt my shoes last longer then that??? My last set lasted 7 years with no issues! The manager smirked at me and said no! This person has the nerve to say it will cost over $400 to fix!!! There part failure caused this problem and yet I have to pay for it??? DO NOT GO HERE!!!

Had some work done early in the day. No problem, they did what said needed to be done to repair the problem but later my car started to revert back to what was ailing it to begin with so naturally I called them up to express my concern. That when their true colors came out. Right away, the manager became confrontational and begin to talk to me condescendingly as if I was some little kid. The chip on this guys shoulder was big. All he had to say is, I am sorry for the inconvenience and we can take a look at the car at a later date. But no, that was asking for too much for this manager. Dont expect the customer service to be stellar. Yeah, they did their job but they apparently hate to treat their paying customers with any respect whatsoever. Their attitude toward real customer service needs a big improvement.

I stopped in because I needed a quick oil change and there was no other cars there. They did as I hoped and very quickly changed the oil and rotated the tires. I still wouldnt go back for 2 reasons. 1 - Their oil change price is way too high. They wanted as much to change oil on my honda as I typically pay to get my diesel truck changed elsewhere. Then they added another $4-5 additional above the quoted rate for "shop supplies". I protested and they removed the fee. The second reason I wont go back is because they have a sign out front that says "Firearms are not permitted...". Maybe it is my politics coming out, but I dont patronize business that ban my right to protect myself. It is their right to ban them on private property and my right to not patronize them because of it.
