I took my 1978 Ford F350 dually in because of a exhaust noise and a oil pan drain plug leaking. Dwayne called me back around the end of the day and stated I needed my exhaust manifolds resurfaced, (he did not even take them off to really check the surface) so I said lets do Headers. Another day goes by and they still didnt address the oil pan bolt leak. Day 3 and I decided to do the research for the headers because they were not looking and not doing any research. Day 4 still no oil pan info, so i decided to do the research and find whats needed for replacement, they were useless in this department also. Day 5, I found an oil pan replacement and headers for my truck and gave them the info to order the parts. Day 8, they are installing the oil pan and i get a call from work from them in a panic saying the oil pan wont fit. I get off work and rush over to the shop to see. Well they were trying to put the pan on backwards, I said turn it around and it fits. What a waste of my time and stress that was. So i am thinking alright they will finish tomorrow, (NOT). Day 9, I definitely dont trust them now and go in after work to discuss my displeasure. I talk to Dwayne about the problems and states he did not want to here me and i am a pain and never bring him parts to put on my truck again. I told him he was the one who ordered the parts and then marked them up $200 dollars on a $500 dollar item and $200 dollars on a $400 dollar item (headers and oil pan). He then told me to leave his place of business, so i did. Day 13, They said its ready. I picked it up to find the job not complete. The stater was not adjusted, the oil pan was not installed correctly at the dip stick (leaking oil), The headers that they marked up $200 dollars from retail came in bent at the canister and the mechanic scratched them all up and then got them really dirty and didnt clean them before starting the motor so they have burnt in stained and scratched marks for ever. The new oil pan that was marked up $200 dollars was dented and scratched upon installation and they tried to cover it up with paint but its very noticeable. DONT TAKE YOUR OLD CLASSICS TO THESE GUYS THEY HAVE NO ATTENTION TO DETAIL AND WILL DAMAGE YOUR NEW PARTS, PLUS CHARGE YOU. UNFORTUNATELY I HAVE TO DRIVE BY THIS PLACE EVERY DAY WHEN I LEAVE MY SUBDIVISION. JUST BAD MEMORIES.. "BEWARE"

I got lucky but their mistakes almost cost me my car and even my life depending on timing. So they guy I talked to was really nice. I waited an hour and 45 minutes for an oil change and tire rotation and while they purposely messed up my car. The service was deplorable! They claimed all the lug nuts on my tires needed to be replaced but when I went to to discount tire (on their request, so I could bring back the lug nuts for them to put on) I was one surprised to find that 2 were missing they just forgot to tell me that they didnt put them back on and the guys at discount tire all claimed I didnt even need them replaced. On top of that I told the man at the desk that I was going on a road trip to Colorado not only did he try to get me to pay some rediculous amount for a 100,000 mile tune up but now that Im back in austin my cars service light turned on and come to find out they FORGOT to put the cap back on my coolant. Im having this place recheck all of the work that they did because of all these mistakes I have found! It may be cheep but its not worth it unless you want these guys to purposely ruin your car so that you buy more services. These people should be closed down DONT GO THERE!! I was lucky you may not be

Wasnt a good experience at all. I needed a transmission filter and oil change on my Vette. Took the car in and they were kind enough to drop me off at my house. This is where the good experience ends. They called later to sell me additional services. Frank, the manager,, said I needed a complete tuneup including new spark plugs, wires, and filter ... I had just done a complete tune up and replaced these items less than 3 weeks before this. Yet they were trying to tell me I needed NEW ones. They obviously did not even look at the plug wires. I could go on, but you get the picture. Ill bet everyone that goes in for a simple oil change goes out with additional services not needed. Dont trust them! And definitely get a second opinion before allowing added services. We have choices as to where we take our cars to. Unfortunately, I wont be using SunAuto any longer.

Anywhere where ALL the staff remembers youre name, and they ALL stand behind their work, will earn my business 100% of the time. Now to their insane prices on oil changes.. I drive a 14 Tundra, which holds 9 quarts of oil(double that of normal cars). I have never gotten my oil changed for less than $130, and it has always been changed with crappy off-brand oil. At Sun Auto, I got top of the line AMS oil with my oil change, and they also rotated my 35" tires (which normally costs me $30-40), all for under $100!! Im also having my trashed rotors and pads replaced, and their prices are a good 30% less than anywhere Ive looked! They have definitely earned a Customer for life!!

For the longest time my steering wheel on my Jeep was bent 10 degrees to the left just for it to go straight. I went to the dealer and they replaced my rear track bar and said that not only that but my Jeep would need 3-4 grand more in work for the steering issue to be solved. I took it to Sun auto to get a second opinion and they found that two bolts were not installed on the new track bar that the dealer installed! They installed those two bolts, adjusted my alignment specs and now my steering wheel is straight again. I would highly recommend these guys!

Sun Auto has done a great job with all of our vehicles. Vehicles are ready when they say they will be. They are quick and hassle free. They do keep me informed about things I might need to replace, but I never feel like they are upcharging me for stuff I dont need. We take our personal vehicles here, our work vehicles, and now some of our employees are taking their cars here. Glad to find a dependable car repair shop. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

Frank at Sun Auto and all the staff has been helpful, courteous and professional. When I have had repairs done they have been very professional explaining what needs to be done and then doing the job in a timely manner. If something comes up after the repair is done that is a problem, they have always fixed it at little or no charge. You can say that I am a very satisfied customer and will continue to use Sun Auto in Lakeway.
