I started working with Tanya at Fit Appeal Training Studio the second week of January. While I havent lost a lot as far as the scale goes, Ive lost a lot of inches and dropped two shirt sizes and one pant size. Im doing an extreme weight loss regimen the right way. Im looking to lose over 100 pounds over the next year, and Tanya is the trainer Ive selected to help me. Ive been overweight my whole life, and when I hit 30 I decided I was done with it. Time to save my own life and lose weight. I knew I needed help, and I looked for awhile. Im too shy to go to some huge gym. Id feel entirely overwhelmed so I know I wanted to go to a smaller gym. I also knew I wanted personal training. I wanted a trainer that knew me, knew my goals and limitations, and could design a program specifically for me. I found that with Tanya at Fit Appeal Training Studio. First, the studio is great. Its private with shades covering the windows. Not to mention it is extremely well kept. I saw a few gyms while looking for a trainer that were just gross! So its nice to go to a gym that doesnt smell like old gym socks, and isnt dingy and dirty. Fit Appeal is filled with every type of exercise equipment imaginable. Ive been going for over three months now and still havent used everything! Lol! Second, the prices are very reasonable. Not only for one on one personal training, but also for her semi-private monthly package which I fully intend to take advantage of when Im not so self conscious about my weight and can keep up with everyone else. For now it is personal training four times a week for me. Third, Tanya knows so freaking much about health and nutrition! She is a wealth of knowledge, and will go over your eating habits with you and then design a personal meal plan around foods you like most. I appreciate that because Im not a carrot and celery kind of girl. She started by asking me what kinds of foods I like most, and then emailed me pages of alternatives that I would enjoy. And I have. She also gave me a break down of what my meals should include including how many grams of protein etc. Fourth, Tanya doesnt lie. Shes not going to coddle you, or tell you what you want to hear just to get you in the door and take your money. I really like that. Ive had enough people coddling me over the years and enabling me. I appreciate the fact Tanya just lays it out there. She was very upfront that Im obese and it is going to take a lot of work to undo the damage my bad habits have caused. However, she also said as long as I put the work in well get it done. And we are! She keeps a very accurate log of what exercises we do each session so that shes working my entire body, but she does focus on my problem areas a lot. She pushes me every session. She pushes me as far as I can go, but she monitors me to make sure I dont pull or strain something. Shes very involved in your training. I just cant say enough about Tanya and Fit Appeal. Ive signed up with her for all of 2015, and I expect Ill be training in her semi-private groups for years to come to maintain my weight loss. As long as neither of us moves! If youre looking for someone to dedicate themselves to helping you get healthy check out Tanya Peale at Fit Appeal Training Studio. I know she does a lot of physique training, and helping people sculpt their bodies, but she can do wonders for people who are overweight! I should know! Shes helping me save my life!

Not very impressed as I had high hopes for working with Tanya. She seems knowledgable about fitness and nutrition but her delivery is horrible and tacky. She suggested I use whey or soy protein but thats not part of my goals, thats not what I want. If I wanted whey protein I would use whey or soy. Your goals, is her goals. Be prepared to just shut up and listen and just nod yes. Since thats not the person I am, and I choose to be very involved in my fitness and nutrition, good and bad, I had to pass on her. Which is sad because I do think she is very knowledgable but couldnt take her unprofessionalism oh and her poor advice telling me Im going to fail because the nutrition service she "offered" which is not mandatory I decided to pass on. Wow that was not very encouraging and definitely not gain me as a client. Not that I want someone to lie to me or sugarcoat but how do you already expect someone to fail when they dont take your program that you presented as "If I want it," not that its included in the training packet it was a "if I want it." So I didnt take it and she chuckled and said "most people who try it on their own fail" well at that moment it was time for me to go. She may be a great trainer, just not for me.

Tanya is amazing with all levels of fitness. She has an amazing balance of being able to push you to get the most out of your training without screaming at you or feeling like you accidentally signed up for iron man. My sessions are something I look forward to every week. Tanya not only shows an interest in my fitness goals she advises me on new goals based on the potential and growth she sees in me. As a result, I have experienced the unintended consequence of having more confidence in myself. Tanya truly cares about overall physical fitness. She has the knowledge about making proper food choices ("diet") and overall health that is a valuable pairing with the physical workouts she provides. Since February, I have gone down 2 clothing sizes. As an added bonus my courage, confidence, anf self awareness have increased.
