Updating a previous review because the situation has improved. Our daughter had been at two other preschools in five years due to moving from a Richardson office to an Allen/McKinney office, and had had no problems whatsoever. She absolutely loved school. She is a very social kid and loves being around other kids. We had great experiences at both locations. No behavioral issues with her or other kids were ever a problem. The maximum size of the class she attended was 18. After I got a new job, we decided to move her to our immediate area and put her in a school with kids she might go to kindergarten with in the fall, to ease the transition. After all the great reviews, we were really expecting to love Heritage. We had no reason not to expect a good experience. There were some issues, however. The classes are very large - around the maximum of what the state allows for two teachers. There must have been some miscommunication because this was not what we had expected. There were also some incidents where our child was hit or hurt by another child quite a few times. We spoke to the teachers on several occasions. The teachers were sympathetic and I believe they did try to alleviate the issue, but the problem continued. Our child started bursting into tears over going to school each morning and crying on the way home. In their defense, due to the number of children in the class and how many issues they deal with, the problem may not have seemed significant enough to mention to the other parent. It was brought to their attention when I became frustrated due to the fact that the problems were continuing to occur and the situation was not improving at all. We questioned ourselves about whether we were being over-protective. We talked to friends with children the same age who were at other schools and who were not having these issues. We were getting really frustrated at this point. We considered moving our child to another school. While looking at other school options, I came across this site and posted a review on here voicing those frustrations. Ironically, the situation began to improve at the same time, however – a lot of kids were out for the holidays and there were no incidents or issues. We started to feel more comfortable about possibly leaving our child there. At that point, the review was noted by the director and we got a phone call. Here’s where I can give some kudos: the director called to schedule a meeting with us and truly address the concerns. She was kind enough to hear me out on the phone and never once did she respond as if the concerns were unreasonable. I appreciated and respected that. My husband met with her while I was at work a day or two later and felt very comfortable that she understood why we were upset and that the situation would be reviewed to see where positive changes might be made. He also spoke with the teachers and let them know that we really did not have a problem with them – it was more like a series of unfortunate events that started things off on the wrong foot and resulted in a lot of frustration and hurt feelings. Since that point, we have seen nothing but positive momentum. Our child is no longer crying before or after school, incidents with other kids are rare and minor, and she is learning again. She has always loved her teachers, and she seems much happier and more emotionally settled again. We feel that both of her teachers are terrific people who genuinely care about the kids. One of the most important qualities in a daycare or preschool is their willingness to respond to parental concerns. We feel there is a clean slate moving forward.

Im currently in the Navy and did two deployments. Moving from a naval base to a civilian world due to recruiting duty was extremely hard. This place made it 10 times harder with my sons care. I asked them if they could work with me since I was in the Navy and they wouldnt. I have sacrificed my time to serve this country and all I wanted this facility to do is work with me in the sense to send two forms to inform my branch where my son would be attending. They said that they wouldnt do it because it was EXTRA work for them. I thought that was the worst statement that someone could tell me simply because Ive never cared how much work I am put through as long as I contribute to the freedom of this country. The people are nice but at the end of the day they only care about themselves. If you are military personnel DO NOT go to this daycare because they will NOT work with you! They told me that they would get back with me to see if they were able to help me and never called me. If you want the best of the best in town go to Primrose! Those people are truly invested in children and helping them learn Heritage learning center is just a daycare and from what I got from them they dont like to go the extra mile for the benefit of the children. I will say it again if you want the best of the best in town go to PRIMEROSE! My son goes to Primrose of El Dorado and Im glad that these people turned me around and wouldnt work with me because I wouldve never found the best in McKinney which is Primrose! Now I get why this place is so cheap.

I have so many great things to say about Heritage Learning Center, I am even not sure where to start. We have been part of the Heritage family for over 9 years now. My oldest started when he was three, now 11, and my youngest when he was two, now 6. We are a two career family, both my wife and I choose to work full time jobs, 40 plus hours a week. That decision is not always an easy one with young children. The thought of leaving our babies with someone we didnt really know was not an easy one. When we found Heritage we knew we found a safe, loving place for our children to grow each day, while we were at work. The teachers truly love and care for our children as if they were their own. My wife and I simply no longer worry if our children are in a safe environment, we know they are. The structured classroom environment, caring teachers and teaching positive learning attitudes are only part of what you get when you join the Heritage family. My boys were more than ready for their first day of elementary school because of the wonderful Teachers Heritage. So if you are faced with the same difficult decision my wife and I had 9 years ago. Don’t just take my word for it. Go see for yourself. Tell them the Smith Family sent you. You won’t be disappointed. The Smiths

We enrolled our daughter at Heritage Learning Center a couple of years ago and have been very pleased with not only the facility itself but also with the teacher’s and the front office. For every class there is a minimum of 2 teachers present at all times and are always ready to notify us of any issues our child has had during the day. We came to this school because it was highly recommended by several neighbors and friends and we are pleased to say that Heritage has met our child’s needs and has really helped her learn. Out of her daily class she began learning how to write her name, address, phone number, colors and more at the ages of 3-4 and now at the age of 5 she is involved in book club where she has actually learned how to read small books and mouse club which has taught her how to use the computer and create things like calendars and how to edit small projects. We are confidant that will all of the learning she has done at this facility her start to kindergarten next year will be a smooth and easy transition. We are glad we are part of the Heritage Family and would suggest it to any and all friends in the area. This is truly a great place for kids and there should be more child learning facilities like this!!!!! Thanks HERITAGE keep up the good work!
